TEXAS, USA - Surprising Week in Austin, Wimberley & San Antonio!

We spent 5 days in TEXAS discovering Austin, Wimberley, and San Antonio with family who live there. We discovered the best of the Texas Hill Country. We fell in love with the easy-going people and the amazing nature that surrounded us! In Wimberley, we hiked Mt. Baldy, visited Jacob's Well, Blue Hole Swimming Area in Blue Hole Park, Cypress Creek and Cypress Falls Swimming Hole, the Wimberley town center with its unique shops. In Austin, we hit South Congress for a day of local restaurants and shopping. In San Antonio, we spent the day at the Alamo learning the history of Texas and on the famous River Walk. Texas left us with fond memories that we took with us back home to France!

** CORRECTION : the Big Daddy tree is actually a cypress in Wimberley. I got it confused with a live oak I'd photographed in Austin.

I believe the tree was a cypress rather than a live oak. They're a very common sight along Hill Country rivers.

Looking back through my photos, I see I got this tree confused with a live oak we saw in Austin. Thanks for correcting me. I really appreciate it 😊
