Your evacuating ! Usually in your car unless you try to ride it out then it’s a helicopter- or a body bag. At that point I doubt insurance will be an issue on your car. Is there no natural disaster that you would leave your car in to be safe ??? Then I hope insurance wouldn’t pay your car either . If I pay insurance for yrs on my vehicle then why not pay if I’m in a natural disaster. Now this is the catch - those homes have storm damage but a lot of companies won’t pay for flooding ! 😢

When you were born, there were "beach houses" further away from the water & all self insured. Development, moving wetlands and natural drainage, to driving on the beach, along with subsidence is the reason the water's edge has changed. Back then beach houses were basically fishing camps. If you had the money to lose you had a "beach house". Don't forget all natural barriers were removed. By development.

I don't know about the rest of Texas, but in Surfside they're not allowed to replace any beach that erodes away. I stayed at a rental that was right on the beach and had to drive through high tide water down the beach to get to it. The rental person/realtor said she couldn't sell the house because of that law and figured the water would take it down within a decade. That's why she was renting it out, trying to regain some money for the homeowner.

🔴THE GOSPEL OF THE WORD OF ALMIGHTY GOD "the Salvation of the last day that Christ brought in the second and last incarnation of His new and holy name" (How many religious practices do you follow? How many bases have you rebelled against God's word and chosen your own path? Understand God's word and live it. Be principled in your actions and deeds; it's not following the rules or doing it against the will for pretense. Rather, it is the practice of truth and living the word of God. Only a practice like this will please God. Any practice that pleases God is not a policy but a practice of truth. A person who truly loves God and is in the truth is a person who is honest with God, but he does not reveal it to the outside. He is ready to practice the truth when tested and does not speak or act in a way that goes against his conscience. He shows wisdom when faced with trials and is principled in his actions, regardless of the situation. A person like this is the one who truly serves. All those who only use words to deal with God are hypocrites! Religious rituals and beliefs prevail among people like this; they live in such rituals and beliefs, always believing that such acts are pleasing to God, and that superficial piety or sad tears are pleasing to God. What good will these strange things do? Is this kind of people in the kingdom? The person in the kingdom must be lively and free, innocent and open-minded, honest and pleasant; one who lives in a state of freedom. He has character and dignity, and can be a witness wherever he goes; he is pleasing to both God and man. When I lived in Houston, we went to Surfside in the summer, mid-2000s, and the beaches were long and mostly empty and bordered by sand dunes. Now look at it! Built out completely, with no dunes to prevent the expansion of incoming water. This storm has just begun and I predict many of not most of these structures will be destroyed.

Nope. This is a low wind event, storm surge only. These houses are built to withstand storm surges much bigger than this one. It will take a few weeks to clean up, and that will be it. Now, if anybody has a mobile home or trailer in the area, it is probably toast.

People have always dreamt of owning many types of things that they either can't have, or shouldn't. I'm one of them now. Beaches move with tides & especially so from the natural effects of hurricanes & storms, some more than others. We need to respect facts & leave them alone; they'll always be there, we just shouldn't expect to walk 50 ft to the water's edge from our back door.

They are under a tropical storm warning and coastal flood warning. This was well forecasted but it catches people by surprise since it isn't named yet and hundreds of miles away.

ON the ocean, or close in, YES. But a little ways back & not right on a bay or river, with the proper building structures, its the best life for those who crave it.
