If anyone is curious, the R44 holds about 30 gallons of fuel and has a range of 350ish miles. Helicopter fuel costs anywhere from $4 to $8 or so a gallon currently. So he paid maybe around $200 a tank full give or take $10 - $15 - $20. With higher fuel costs during this time frame, he might have actually spend as much as $300 a tank full. I think the distance he flew was around 1400 to 1500+ miles so while not exact, his fuel costs would have been around $850 to $1,000 to as much as $1200 - $1300 dollars ... maybe less maybe slightly more. These are semi-rough estimates. With his UBERS, Food, Lodging and misc, that would have been around am additional $500. I'm guessing he budgeted around $1700+ upfront to get his new Helicopter back home. How much would will this video pay him? At the very least, $500 but as much as $2500 per 100K views. However, I am not sure of the time frame it will take for him to earn that amount of money. When you take into account his sponsorship for Flying Eyes Glasses, and this part I am totally clueless about, that might have helped him an additional $300 - $400 dollars, or, a lot more. Poorly educated guess there. I think all said and done, the out of pocket cost to fly his new Helicopter back will eventually be free for him. However, this was an adventure of a lifetime for him and his Wife and you can't put a price on that. It's not everyday you get to fly a $400,000+ Helicopter back home over a 3 day journey across our beautiful country.

They are called prescribed burns they help removing crop residues left in after the harvest. Burning also helps remove weeds, prevent disease and control pests and overall improves the health of the fields. 😉 Awesome video you guys I'd love to see US west coast trip.

Another huge value to controlled burns like this is that it reintroduces nutrients and fertility into the soil if it has become too barren.

Thanks for taking me along. I totally enjoyed OUR TRIP.
Evie’s nervous “low flyover”‘ laugh. Thanks for letting us come along for the ride and I’m learning a lot more about helicopters than I ever anticipated when I subscribed to Micah’s KZread. I’m all for it!
Great job and congrats! I’d love for you to do a video on the logistics of a cross-country flight like this, and a breakdown of efficiency of flying cross-country. Like does altitude have an effect efficiency, what speed were you traveling at and is there a sweet spot like there is for cars? Stuff like that would be great! Looking forward to you future videos with you R44!

I was thinking the same thing! I was also wondering how much a cost of fuel that thing up? And is every airport price differently I’m assuming? Is there a big gap in price from airport to airport?

Here here! Things like how you map out a route, know airports/fuel stops, stuff like that. Also, is it more tiring to fly that many hours/days than driving?
U know you’re in Texas when you land your chopper at the barbecue place.

Really fantastic video. As someone living in Arizona for 8 years now I appreciated the footage. I grew up in Illinois and lived there for 35 years and there's no comparison. Every time I drive anywhere or turn a corner in Arizona there's something beautiful to look at. I'll never get tired of exploring this state, there's nowhere else like it. I can't wait to see your new vids!
Congrats on the acquisition of your Robinson! Awesome to see you up flying again, and enjoying it so much with your family. Fantastic video!
Micah: Maybe you could request a tour of Robinson Helicopter at Torrance Airport. I’d like to see that.

I was born in Torrance in 1954 . My dad took me to the "Radio Shack" repair shop on the field to watch Elvis shoot "Paradise, Hawaiian Style" there. Maybe '63 or '64. I would Love a tour of Robinson AND the airport in general.
Man I loved this video. Reminded me of all the roadtrips ive done from El Paso to Austin, and from El Paso to LA over the years. Thanks Micah!
Congratulations!! So happy for your family and I cannot wait to see more videos.
Glad to see you back in a helicopter. Love your videos. Professional and chill. The new machine is very cool. 🚁
Congratulations guys! Enjoy the trip!
Congrats on getting Sensi home! What a fun muzio adventure! Really enjoyed it! Looking forward to more!
Solid helicopter flight content, which is why I'm here, but it's also great to see a couple who so thoroughly enjoy each other's company.
It is so good to be able to do cool stuff like this and not be trapped by financial stress. Glad for you and for everyone out there doing cool stuff. I know I will someday be able to do the same with my family. Blessings to all!!
Great video! Excited for more videos. Can’t beat seeing the country from a helicopter
Thanks for sharing such a cool experience. You two rock!!! … also… the little one too!! Beautiful family!!!
Good to see you in the air again. Glad you got her home. I was born and raised in west Texas but don't live there now and it was beautiful to see.
Congrats you guy's on your new helicopter. Can't wait to see the new videos from it.
I'm glad we can go flying again! My niece and I went on her annual 20 minute birthday helicopter ride the weekend before last in a Robinson R44, same color as yours!
Very well done as usual, thanks for the video and good luck!
Glad Evie made it the whole way with getting really motion sick. That's the thing that's hard to get across in a vid about being a passenger in a helicopter. It just feels _way_ different on the body and brain since it can move in all directions, compared to what you're used to when flying in a typical airliner.
I love your channel! The desert is so beautiful and the ride looked fun!
Totally different view of the mountainous terrain from the helicopter altitude. Love it!
Great video loved the landing ratings!!
I never noticed you write our own music....nice stuff. Looks like a fun trip. I miss my days flying. Evie did a great job shooting the pics....especially the shadow shots....my favorite shot to get when flying.
You two are the best! So enjoy your videos. Awesome new helicopter, enjoy it!
So happy to see some helicopter videos back in the mix.
a unique interstate travel experience via a personal helicopter ... sure beats travel by auto, but, with a different set of challenges like finding rest stops to use the bathroom
Living vicariously through you guys. Thanks for sharing!
As a SELDOM commercial passenger and a NO PILOT individual, I found this excursion of you and your honey's a most enjoyable video. How cool is that, one, you can afford to buy a helicopter and two, that you can just pick up and go get it and fly it back home (especially in ac comfort) Hats off to you kids....enjoy your new ride 😉
I think it is so cool that you guys can see so much more of the countryside with the lower flying altitudes. Not quite "fly over" country, more like "fly-through" country... sort of. Very cool!
Amazing flight, definitely a long haul. There's a reason the Robinsons are such popular helicopters, your flight just proves it. They make these machines right.
Awesome! Looking forward to future videos.
Great to see your view from the air again. Looking forward to more!
THATS SO COOL, U GUYS ARE SO YOUNG, NOW IS THE TIME TO LIVE NOT WHEN WE RETIRE, YOU GUYS ROCK, LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
Welcome home Micah and Evie. Looking forward to more flights.👍🏻👊🏻
What a laugh! And so exciting too!! Hope you have lots of good times on this one... 🤗
Wow!!!😀 that was an awesome video!!!....womdefful views!!...great job and congrats again on your new helicopter!!!😎
That's cool to see you land in Safford, Az. I took my fixed wing training there in the early 80's, and my dad still lives there. I can't wait to see more vids with this new bird.
Excellent adventure, as always!!
Great show ! So happy for you to get the new “Robbie! Wish you would have flown over El Paso. Lived there for a few years, but glad you stopped at Las Cruces. Now it’s time for a trip to SAN! Cheers

What an incredible adventure! My wife and I have 4-wheeled the better part of the southwest together but this… this would be so awesome! God bless.
Awesome !! Thank you Micah
Thx had fun watching you guys cheers
Great video. Remember landing an L1011 at San Bernardino back in the early 90s when it was Norton AFB - think that was my first time in California. Have been there many times since - work & pleasure. Can’t wait for the A380 to get up & running again so I can get back to my LAX layovers - and back to Big Bear for skiing & mountain biking!
Glad I finally got to see this. Nice one guys!
you flew from Austin to LA.. that so cool... I wish there were more people like you in DFW who make these cool videos
Looks like so much fun!
Look forward to a tour of LA again, a year on from your lockdown flights, over the beaches and various parts of LA. Here's to them.
Always fun to watch. Thanks Micah and wife,

Awesome video and edited just right to keep it interesting on a day-by-day basis. I live in Scottsdale, AZ, and I have a couple of friends who fly, and I have heard them mention the bumpy air and challenges of flying around here with the mountains so nearby, especially in the intense heat that we are now experiencing. Glad you made it home safely--look forward to seeing the helicopter vlog on your upcoming family helicopter adventures!
