16 is perfect for me. If the SEC goes to a 9 game schedule, that lets you play every school in a two year period. Using a 3 (yearly rival) + 6 (rotating) schedule. 12 years after A&M has joined, Georgia has still not played there. I like 16, I think it's the perfect number for a super conference. Despite that, there probably isn't anything that's going to stop adding more $$$$ like Chris said.

Spencer, could you please explain who gets home games in CFP? I really hope the lesser known teams get a chance in hosting a game because it would be an epic experience & event for the fans like Pullman, Corvallis, Wyoming, Boise State, Tulane, to name a few, but they wanna see these supposedly powerful at-large SEC & BIG10 teams… If they wanna match the March Madness hype machine? Have some of those big name programs show up because an upset would be monumental for THE CFP!

Yes, the SEC will add some of the ACC namely FSU and Clemson. The Big 10 doesn't have ESPN but the ACC, SEC and Big 12 do. That's huge. It's the same reason why OU and Texas went from the Big 12 to the SEC.

@@CarlaJenkinsTV "Media Exposure Value" is unlikely to be cash revenue pooled/shared at the conference level or revenue kept by the school (e.g. gate). I suspect it's more about the quantity, quality and width of viewers on media channels. 100K DUKE viewers are worth more than 100K OHIOST, FSU or CLEMSON viewers based on quality alone.

The biggest observation from yesterday was the huge celebrations at Austin and Norman for the entry in the SEC. The fans and schools looked excited to be starting in the conference. Also the desperation from B12 to release any news they could to distract from it. Now I agree with you, the SEC really doesn’t want to expand but will have to respond if the BIG moves and/or the ACC implodes. I feel the bluebloods want to be playing at another level. Not just more $$ but also prestige and recruiting power. They feel CFP is over saturated with mid level schools particularly in Florida Texas, NC and CA. and we are on a freight train to a tier 1 and 2 system. They don’t want to miss their spot on the train so they will push (see FSU)

I'm in the Big 10 (Ohio State0. What desperation when TCU logged the only Big 12 college playoff win; whereas, OU and Texas went 0-5. Also if the Buckeyes have gotten the best Floridian talent from Hall of Famer Cris Carter to Jeremiah Smith without adding FSU, why would the Big 10 add FSU? Finally, FSU is not worth $60 million. Ohio State is.

@@CarlaJenkinsTV I think you missed the point. B12 went into overdrive with press releases and videos yesterday to distract from Texas and OU entering the SEC. It appeared desperate marketing ploy. As far as FSU goes…..ok. Don’t add anyone else. I’m sure the SEC would be ok stopping this. At this point the SEC would just be responding to BIG moves. They are happy where they are at.

When the SEC invited Texas and Oklahoma, they completed the capture of Texas and got Oklahoma too. It was bad news for the Big 12 and bless them for their efforts to seek new TV markets. The B1G got all of California that they wanted along with UW and Oregon. There are no more moves on that same level. Lots of fine schools out there, but does the money work? That's up to the conferences and media. I think they should stop (all their bull in the china shop crap) so everyone else can regroup.

The west coast is a declining market for college football; hence the PAC couldn't get a Tier 1 media deal and the members scattered. I also don't see the core B1G schools attracting many top students from the west coast to the Midwest, so they will continue to wane in athletics and academics.

With a championship game, it helps a bit but this whole business of playing some schools twice every 12 years is ridiculous and will not improve after adding Texas and Oklahoma. The SEC has played this smoke and mirrors game forever while the B1G has only had 3 or 4 schools in the top tier for any given year. But playing 9 of the other 17 schools with the Pac-12 schools will dilute their conference as well unless their smoke and mirrors plan work's as well.
