Texas Family Bets Their Future on Wagyu Cattle | The American Rancher

Ойын-сауық

After arriving from Japan in 1976, Wagyu breeders set out to establish a foothold in the American beef industry. Today, the breed has carved out an impressive niche with farm-to-table branded beef programs and high-end restaurants because of its unmatched quality. And with recent emphasis by American breeders to improve EPD and performance data tracking, ranchers like Marvin Garret have even more reasons to stake the future of their operations on Wagyu genetics.
Tune into a brand-new episode of the American Rancher, next Monday, Aug. 15 at 9 p.m. ET on RFD TV or on Tuesday, Aug. 16 at 7 p.m. CST here on KZread.

Thx for a good video. Questions--Why is the farm buying fertilizer? Have you all tried rotational grazing to eliminate the need and expense of using fertilizer. This practice may not be the right choice for all ranches due to various factors, but RG can improve your grass quality, which will help reduce hay cost by being able to stockpile and grow quality grass that lasts longer in the season without fertilizer and a decreased expense on annual hay costs. It may be a good idea to explain the healthy affects of the Wagyu beef such as higher unsaturated fats and other positive health affects that I’ve heard that are not seen in all other breeds. I apologize for not having those details at my fingertips but I’ve heard cattle producers talk on it. Wagyu is a unique breed unlike all other breeds if the info I learned was accurate. All the best! Pat

Isnt the reason the meat is so awesome is the FACT that these animals were so humanely treated? I have seen some vids of these animals being treated worst than trash and then processed for our consumption, its the exact reason I have been trying to find out more about this.
