My understanding is there's a lot of small towns and communities in the totality path. If say 5x as many people as usual come to the area then most resources will be depleted. So it's not the country running out of fuel it would be a small town running out of fuel with no truck on the way for a certain period of time

Well, here in oklahoma where the total eclipse will occur is tiny towns with a very low population. Apparently thousands of people are going to converge there. Because of that gas stations may rin out of gas, groceries having shortages along with other services . I heard what few motels and hotels were booked a long time ago and state parks are completely booked, so i think ( I hope) that is the reason. I do have wierd feelings. The biblical events that have and are occurring only scare those who have mocked Jehovah God, and Jesus' existence for decades. Those who have practiced and taught false religion. Those who knew better and still celebrated paganism such as Christmas, with Santa Clause, and Halloween, and Easter Bunny, and Cupid Valentines Day, ect . These are the ones that are scared of the day of Jehovah judgment.

What i don't understand and I don't see anybody explaining is, what does an eclipse has to do with getting short supply and or going short on gasoline and water, etc. I dont understand.

I live for my God. I’m a Christian to my core. I know one thing, no one knows the day or the hour of the coming of our lord. Yes, there will be signs in the heavens….. The moral of the story is to live and do right by God. If you’re doing that, you will always be rapture ready. And that is the point. I don’t know what this eclipse stuff is, but we have always had them.

What kind of emergency?

They possibly know something is coming, but it gets worse when you realize that after an eclipse happens something bad happens

Out of all the eclipse we have had and I’ve seen at least 2 in my life span what’s the most different about the same thing happening? Please I need explanations I need to know !

Declare an emergency for a 4 1/2 minute event. Ummmmmm, what am I missing here?

Nice to see a government official actually taking his job seriously and thinking out of the box ahead of time! I don’t think it’s an overreaction because there are going to be plenty of people coming in to this small town taking up hotel rooms, packing restaurants and buying up food and gas. Most are from cities and are used to having everything they need in unlimited supply. Seems we all are on edge about supply issues since the pandemic…rightly so. It’s like having a couple of hundred people descend upon your house. Wouldn’t you want them to bring their own supplies to take care of themselves. Yes we’ve had an eclipse before, but people are traumatized by the government manipulation we’ve been experiencing and so we are all more on the defensive when it comes to uncommon happenings now. It’s sad, crazy and justified, all at the same time. These are unprecedented times we live in and the world is definitely different now. Happy 🌕🌓🌒🌑 y’all!

Isnt the eclipse only going to be about 4 minutes long maybe?

i can see concerns with massive amounts of unexpected tourism in isolated small towns. I live in a town of about 12k people. Surrounded by similar sized towns for 90 to 100 miles. tripling the population for any given amount of time can be a concern as all it will take is a is one muli vehicle car wreck to overwhelm the meager service cpacity

It’s an eclipse. I was in elementary school for one and we went outside during school and enjoyed it. Why are people so fearful? What is wrong with people today?

On our highways today they had the traffic board signs that read “expect delays solar eclipse monday April 8”. 😮 I have NEVER seen this before- in NY anyways & why would the eclipse cause “delays” ???? Im confused

This is bizarre considering how many solar eclipses have happened before and never has there been emergencies declared as far as I can recall something tells me this this has more to do with one of two things possibly both the Border issue on the possibility of a major earthquake in the New Madrid fault

The one in 2017, also crossed over the New Madrid.

The Azteca kinda did the same ,then sacrificed thousands.

Nothing terrible is expected to happen, we just know that there will be millions of people coming to the states/cities with the best view. So there will be extreme traffic, and a lot of business will be over filled. So just stock right now. I genuinely don’t think it’s any deeper than that.

I don't know if this is going to be it but God said he's the great silencer and he's going to put us in silence for a time for our protection. And one nght we will go to sleep and when we wake up America will never be the same again. Horrible time's are coming for the people who don't stay in God's word. Then once God humbles America great blessings are coming to America.

What fool would go through all this chaos for a 5 minute eclipse,might be raining 🌧️

I can't help it but I think it is very strange that an emergency has been called for an eclipse that will last for about 2 minutes. I've seen eclipses before and while they are awesome, I've never heard of a state of emergency being called. If people run out of things they just travel outward, until they find what they want. Normally they book their lodging requirements in advance. This would be like calling an emergency everytime there is a snow storm before it even arrives or for every rush hour traffic jam in a major city. New York and other cities overwhelmed with people and I'm sure their resources are stretched to the max, but no emergency is called there, and none is called at the southern border where it is really needed. What is really going on here? Just like they lied to us about Kate, is that what they are doing regarding this eclipse?

Totality is only for less than 2 minutes. What the heck can go wrong. Blowing this out of proportion.

Fellow Amarillo Texan speaking from Syracuse New York the schools here in central New York have closed don't go to work I took Monday April 8th off 3 weeks ago when I heard that they close schools😮

😂 I remember in the early 60s there was a full eclipse and nothing happened other than getting darker for a while and then getting back to normal light. We looked at the eclipse through a welders mask,pretty cool! SO, what is the problem?

So ya stock up on food, fuel, water, booze, and bubble gum. And raise the price . .

WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!? Never in my life has everyone reacted to an eclipse this way before... why is everyone going nuts over this one??

They did not do this in 2017. They did not cancel any schools. This don't make sense. We have had these happened in America the whole 55 years of my life and they have never done the. Im straying home.
