Bert this one was of the most unique food experiences I’ve had in the Philippines. I appreciate you taking me to my first carinderia. We gotta do some more collabs in the future 😎🤝🔥

Too much talking. Eat it first, have a taste, then say what you tasted. Don't fake it.

If you're going to eat on one of this in the future more often, I suggest if you feel sick after eating, force vomit it out. I would rather not have you go through food poisoning symptoms for 2 days. Not saying that all eateries are bad but you have to be careful.

"Carenderia" came about during the British occupation of Manila when they brought in Indian servants and their families. The Indians opened eateries that served curry, which was then christened "carenderia" which means "a store that sells curry". "Kare-kare" also comes from the Indians hawking their curry to the locals, like "curry, curry" which the Filipinos mistook for "kare-kare" and developed their own version.

The one you said as adobo is called humba , a recipe of the Visayans. The regular adobo does not have sugar in it. It’s only soy sauce, vinegar and garlic. You can add bay leaf but some people don’t like the smell .

I would suggest for you to take your friend for a tour in the province to where they will cook your food from scratch to give you an idea how it is made or kindly ask the owner for you to see how it is done in their kitchen. You will surely appreciate the distinct potential of our comfort food. We also appreciate you of liking our authentic cuisine. More Power Travel to you guys.
