    Girl how much weed do you smoke? I ask because this shit happens to me every time I get too high (which is every day)

  • @Shannon-vv6rr

    @Shannon-vv6rr

    7 ай бұрын

    @@humansomewhat2167 I'm sure that's valid but PTSD comes with this kinda behaviour, I do exactly as this lovely lady described down to the T, it's dissociation and your brain trying to 'sort' through the trauma in any way that it can subconsciously. Often talking through scenarios, having imaginary conversations, I do it nonstop when i'm alone but no one would ever know I do it cause if others are there it just doesn't happen, the conscious part knows it can't just talk to ourselves publicly without seeming mad. For me it's a mix of not being able to deal with trauma, and dissociating away from the stress/traumatic feelings, aswell as it being a subconscious/unconscious way of facing my trauma and outletting my feelings surrounding it. Kids talk like crazy and have imaginary conversations with themselves in order to understand the world around them and process things, it can be a way of 'escape', adult brains that've been traumatized and have PTSD do very much the same thing and sometimes it starts from trauma during childhood and continues as someone is further traumatized. Of course other disorders can have this symptom, or drugs/drink, but in relation to PTSD this is pretty much a staple from what i've seen, especially when feeling unsupported, like I said this comes along usually when unattended to, not infront of people, it's just very hard for people to talk about/'admit'. When the brain is overloaded to the max it finds anyway it can to get away from, or explore, its trauma in order to cope. Dissociating and talking yourself through the trauma in an outlet that comes to you. Personally i've done it since childhood and as a child I remember talking to myself past the typical age and I was a traumatized child on the inside and my imagination was an escape aswell as having important conversations that I should've had with others in different outlets, but with myself instead because those people weren't there to listen support nor care and they'd probably hurt me. Further traumatized as an adult so dissocation is usual for me. Just my experience and experience in mental health. Sure weed, drugs, alcohol can cause psychotic, dissociative, or/and paranoid symptoms, and if you experience this when smoking i'd probably suggest not smoking it at all, if you only do it when you smoke weed that's not good, and i'm not anti weed at all i'm pro weed, but it definately is not for everyone, if you get these symptoms just when you get high it doesn't seem worth it at all as it's a total burden to be so traumatized you have to talk outloud to outlet it, I will say it's kinda bold to ask someone girl how much weed you smoke in response to them explaining their PTSD symptoms, sure that's your experience but mental health symptoms doesn't mean someone's automatically on drugs and shouldn't be assumed on them automatically. I would definately do everything you can to not smoke for a few days and see if you don't get these symptoms, cause if you're high everyday, and I want to say this sensitively as I've been there, being high and talk to yourself aren't that far apart in the form of escapism and coping mechanisms, and if you're high everyday and doing this you gotta find out if you're doing it because you're high, or because you have a mental health problem you're not coping well with. Thinking about the reasons you smoke are helpful, it's a good way of being able to figure out the root of it. With peace and love to everyone here no matter how we deal, in order to be here

It's really cool to take the time and learn another's journey. I normally don’t comment on Brittany’s content but have been a huge fan and avid watcher of her content for years. But her story with the older man on her flight made me tear up as he reminded so much of my dad. My Dad has stage 4 prostate cancer with who knows how long left to live and is an English musician/artist his whole life. He has so many incredible stories and encounters about his rockstar musician days where he used to play with super famous bands before they blew up and found commercial success. The fact Brittany took the time of day to listen to the older man’s stories and things about his life warms my heart so much. I know if that was my dad that had a conversation like that with a stranger it would’ve made his whole day. Thank you Brittany for listening and conversing with someone who you normally wouldn’t. You’re one of my favourite humans and I hope to be you when I grow up (we’re the same age)🥹💖

    as someone who lives with their 85 year old grandmother, you sitting there and chatting with this older gentleman probably really meant a lot to him. older folks love regaling us with their tales and we often take that for granted. they don't have much time left here, the least we can do is listen to their stories, or learn something from them. ❤️

    I think it is so interesting to see how much a genuine and pure approach to media creation can have on the final product!!! Britney is just soo natural in what she brings to the table and has just the best language for discussions and i think that's why she manages to flow so easily from topic to topic! I think she might have revolutionized the art of originality in online media. Also i juts loove how she manages to top every episode with a new one, she just keeps raising the bar and constantly passes it!! I COULD WRITE A WHOLE THESIS ON THIS I JUST LOOOOVE HER!

    Human tip: don’t always roll your eyes and pass up the opportunity to speak with old folk. They are often looked down upon or simply looked through like they aren’t even there. Like they are burdens. It’s fucking heartbreaking especially because a vast majority of people have a fear of growing old. Thanks for takin the time out of your day to speak with that gentleman on the plane. I bet he enjoyed it as well.

    That story about the conversation you had with the older man was so sweet. I feel like we dismiss older people as annoying boomers who don’t know anything so easily. But a society that only venerates youth and young people is bound to have no memory. It’s a very modernistic gesture to think we’re the ones who know better than everyone who came before us and we don’t need to learn from them.

    As a fellow Texan who similarly loves Texas and in turn, history… I LOVE ghost stories from here because they have to incorporate the history of the times and the building. And as a native to San Antonio, you can bet I shrieked when she mentioned the Emily Morgan - the Menger has TONS of history as well. Teddy Roosevelt stayed there and gathered the ‘rough riders’ in the hotel’s bar downstairs - which is still an operating bar and so cool to check out! I would love for her and her mom to go on a ghost hunting adventure in Texas. The Baker Hotel in Mineral Wells most definitely comes to mind!

    Your story about that older man on the plane reminds me a lot of convos i have with my mom(whos gonna be 60 in Dec). Hearing her experiences growing up in the Bronx and how cheap things used to be(she tells me ice cream used to be 5 cents and her dad would give her a dollar so her friends and my uncle could all have). She also tells me about cousins she has that went to underground parties that turned out to be the birth of hip hop and break dancing. Like it really is wild to think about how much history she just has and she mentions it all so casually. But it genuinely is fascinating to hear about older peoples experiences and how life used to be for them.

    wow the story about Barney made me cry so hard, it catched me by surprise. He reminded me of my father, who was also an older guy (50 when i was born) and would talk to anyone with the friendliest tone and always had a kind and/or funny thing to say to everyone to make their day or initiate a conversation. he was so wise and also had this childlike curiosity and giddiness to him. i miss him so much everyday but sometimes i get to have conversations like you with Barney or read a great book or appreciate the little, tiny happinesses in life like sitting on the balcony looking at the birds in the sky and listening to them... and i am so happy and grateful for being able to carry him in my heart in those moments. that i had a chance to be brought up like this. -but tldr, the thing is, yeah, talk to older folks, they can surprise you in so many ways

    Had a supernatural experience at the Emily Morgan when I was ~8 yrs old. I was w my aunt & mom looking at wedding reception venues for my aunt's wedding and as I was walking out of one of the ballrooms, I just happened to turn around and see a woman in a late 1800s outfit walk by a wall, make eye contact w me, and as soon as I turned to ask my mom who the lady was, she was gone. On a run, I ran by the hotel and happened to look in the window and saw a dress on display. The lady I saw was wearing that exact dress. No idea if it's still in the window on display but I will always remember that experience.

    The talk at the end about talking to that old man on the plane really hit me. I love that deep talk and I just love the reminders of human connection 🥰💞

    I loved hearing the story of that sweet old man. I work at a chocolate shop and the owner is in her 60s - she has so many incredible stories and wisdom. She's become a mother figure for me. She recently went to go visit her old boss who's 90 years old, and I told her I'll visit her when she's 90 too! :,)

    I'm renting a 1920s house that is literally busted the house due to age and jacked up "renovations" but, coming from the suburbs all my life, I love it. It definitely has an Energy. I work at the local museum in a town where the Historic District is a big deal, so we often do research on other people's houses. But after I did some on mine, I found out the first owners lived in it from his retirement from service in the Spanish-American War until she passed away, years before him. He also shares the same name as my boyfriend who lives here with me. I found their picture on Ancestry and they are now framed in my entry. Old buildings are the best. 🥺

    the way that brittany talks about hozier and harry is how i feel about her. been here since day one, adele’s cousin, super bowl hummus commercial, waiting for her to upload on youtube before it was consistent… she is my princess di. she makes my heart so full. i love her so much. the way she exists unapologetically makes me feel safe existing the way i do. i hope that someday, if i get to meet her, i get to hug her, and tell her what she means to me

    I grew up in a 1920's bungalow as a kid in NorCal and my mom said she always felt an old maternal figure presence there too!
