On the internet it said that the reason why Screwy Squirrel 🐿️ was killed off in his last cartoon was because Tex Avery grew to openly dislike the character. According to animator Mark Kausler, he used to send Avery letters about his rendition of Screwy. He later learns that Avery has thrown away anything related to the character. Kausler would also say, “Tex really hated Screwy, because he didn't catch on like "the rabbit

I can't believe you've never seen this short! Fun fact: Cartoon Network once aired this particular episode over and over again nonstop for an entire day on April Fool's Day of 1997 (if I recall correct).

The Censored Eleven were only shorts produced by Warner Bros. This was produced by MGM and directed by Tex Avery, who DID previously work at Warner Bros

Screwy Squirrel was an entertaining character, but audiences of the day did not warm up to his personality. MGM only made five cartoons featuring the character, and my favorite part of the whole series is the intro to the first one, 'Screwball Squirrel' (1944). The intro with the insipid Sammy Squirrel getting cancelled by the title character shows that this series isn't a product of the 'Cute, fluffy little animals' school of animation and reminds me of the intro to 'Red Hot Riding Hood (1943). The final cartoon of the series (Lonesome Lenny, 1946) is worth taking a look at, as well.

Suggestion for your next reaction; Yankee Dood-It. It’s a Looney Tunes cartoon take on the Shoemaker and the Elves. Elmer Fudd also teaches us about good business practices

What, Not Even on April Fools Day 1997? Happy Go Nutty was The Only Cartoon on Cartoon Network on April 1, 1997, No Toonami That Day. just 24h of Happy Go Nutty. Well he is Crazy, Why get out an open door, When you can use a Hacksaw. And lets Climb The Open Gate to get out. And Cue The Black Face, sure it's Racist, it was the 40s, So they got excused for a lot of racist stuff in the 40s, Like Arch-Nemesis Trump, He was born in 1946. All that's missing is a Slice of Watermelon to finish The Racist Effect. At least you can laugh at The Racism from the 40s. He Didn't Say. Who's Srewier The Dog or The Squirrel? Impossible with Inflation but The 40s came off of the heels of The Great Depression and The US was heading into WWII so Coke was Cheaper then. A Nickelodeon, but it's Actually a Gun, And yes That's the device the Channel is Named after. Shows for a Nickel. Gypsy Pose is a Gag on Gypsy Rose, as in Gypsy Rose Lee. Gypsy Starring Natalie Wood, or The Remake Starring Bette Midler. I hear it was based on a True Story.
