Testing VIRAL Frozen TikTok Balloons! The Laminar Effect Exposed

This video explains the viral TikTok trend of popping open balloons to reveal "frozen" water. Those videos are not fake, however they're harder to get right than they look. If you tried replicating it and failed then just follow the tutorial below! Getting the perfect laminar flow depends on the size of your balloon and the speed at which water comes out. Smaller balloons need fairly small holes which slows down the water flow so you actually have time to film it.
♥ Shopping Links ♥
Balloons: amzn.to/2OICDem, amzn.to/3793oPK
Pastel Balloons: amzn.to/2uqKKpl
Confetti Balloons: amzn.to/3blgUD4
Duct Tape: amzn.to/31IzMHH
LAMINAR FLOW BALLOONS
1) Fill regular balloons with water while supporting the base
2) Tape a hashtag shape making sure the central square is very small (5-10mm)
3) Place balloon in a bowl aimed at the sink or in the garden
4) Use a pin or needle to pop a hole
5) Have your phone ready to film and focus on the first part of the stream
6) If done correctly, a normal balloon like the one I used in the video should produce a good laminar effect for 1-2mins
7) If the water flows out faster than that, then try again or use larger balloons

The tape is to prevent the rip from progress. It can be any tape that has enough adhesive to stop the rubber from ripping apart. On the first try it is too big, the knife is not the problem. The tape must be closer together. A big rip tends to be erratic a small rip tends to have smooth edges. A round balloon will roll, fix it. Don't hold it, don't squeeze it, that makes the water turbulent. Also let the balloon rest before pinching it and do it gently. Confetti that is bigger than the hole will clog it stopping the flow or making it turbulent.

I love when you tie a water balloon & get a baby water bubble in the tie... I used to pop them with my teeth when I was a kid... 😄🎈

The best tip for this is to put the balloon in a bowl to keep it from moving so it works

As for the tape, can I use whatever type if I don't have electrical tape?

  • @eliseroseleaf

The tape is actually to control the pressure of both the water and pressure of whatever you use to pop it.

I actually think you need the tape so that the ballon dosnt completly colaps If you tried doing it without tape I’m pretty sure it would just pop and go everywhere Much how if you drop a balloon with air and get a tiny hole in it it will pop instead of deflating
