Now with as many excellent 1/18 scale crawlers available to purchase, there is really no longer any reason to purchase a TRX4M anymore in all honesty being there is extremely far better options for the money.

I have the TRX Defender with a bunch of upgrades & it’s the worst out of any of my other mini’s I have but it looks like the High Trail versions are much better.

What a great video, it’s nice to hear and see all the comparisons in general. I own all of these now 😂. Thanks!

I have the High Trail Chevy and it's a blast. Not to mention it's a looker! Square body goodness!

That’s the only trx4m I don’t have……I have the f150, bronco and defender…..awesome little trucks

Perhaps their best line these days.

The stock ESC seemed fine until I replaced it with a Hobbywing 1080 (just a quick test run using adhesive tape and temporary wiring) - it completely changed the control at crawling speeds on a stock motor, now it runs like a different model.

Totally agree. I have the brown ford trx4 and I love it. It looks so good. I did put the low gearing in it and added some brass bits.

Right on! That's the dilmemna with the gearing. If one wants to add brass and go for performance, almost need the low gearing... or a new motor.

Ready for some ascent 18 comparisons

I have the brown f150 that has a bunch of mods! Among them are the injora mb 100 esc and the MEUS racing two speed. Using a flysky gt5 and traxxas 2065 servo for shifting duties. In low gear with the injora esc it has a great slow crawl.

I love the Ford version I’m definitely going to get one. I have the newest Land cruiser with metal beadlocks & new tires & it’s surprising how good it is.

Ave you used the meus racing 2 speed transmission super low speed capaciti ? Are they any good or better than original trans … 😮

Love the F-150 HIgh Trail and the Bronco TRX4M, hate the proprietary Traxxas battery. Love the LC80 and FMS in general. Just ordered the FCX18 K10 from FMS.

That battery is a drag. I should make some adapter so I can use my big chargers.

Thank you for the comparison. What really surprised me is how much more silent the Traxxas is. Makes for a much more zen experience compared to that constant loud whine. Is the extra noise on the FMS 18's because of its gearbox and / or portals? The Traxxas would really benefit from a bit more torque and control at lower speeds though.

Yeah, surprised me as well. The portals shouldn't make a noise difference. I believe FMS uses bigger pitch gears since they use this platform for their mini bashers as well. And overvall quality and housing thickness can contribute to noise.

I like to run my mini crawlers outdoor and i think the large size of the k10 is great for outdoors

Watched your videos before obtaining all my trucks. Outstanding .

12 or 15 trucks.

Remember, a simple moving of the screws from the fcx c-hubs from the front (where they get hit when turning) to the back side of the axle will help your fcx’s turn better for free.

Great comparison Francis , the Traxxas are awesome vehicles. The detail in the grill , back window and general proportions are better . The FMS is coming up in quality and ability for sure . I’m surprised how much the FMS truck struggled with portals and two speed. Very interesting. I have the fms 1/12 jimny and it’s VERY detailed but useless off road . Looking forward to what fms comes out with in the future , lots of great competition between brands right now 👍

Thanks 👍. Yeah, Traxxas really has bodies dialed these days. FMS really just needs better tires. The 2-speed makes it easy to drive. Good for low speed and braking but still has great top-end speed.

I never leave a RC Stock , and just buy what I like and mod the crap out of it anyway , I've had lots of fun with my blue bronco and it is a very capable truck now with mostly free mods 😊

I don't think so. That rarely works.

Add some weight, better tires and upgrade the servo and it'll be very usable in a lot of terrain

I have the LC80, but the motor in 1st gear is really too loud to use it indoor. It is a real downside.

While fms k10 has metal links, 2speed transmission, same good looking scale body, costs less and has bigger battery why one would still buy traxxas which has plastic links, 1 speed transmission which is difficult to control while rock crawling so its probably only meant for trailing which is not easy with small scale crawler, yeah probably because of name Traxxas.

Trx4 needs wheelwells and interior.
