Same. They work great on my mini twists
“Pulled at the detriment of my (curl) pattern” This is exactly what I was thinking would happen. I can see where they were going with this idea, but from a curl physics perspective it seems like it would for sure disturb the bounce/springiness of the natural curl as it prevents the shrink, leading imho to a somewhat straighter, puffier, frizzier root area and an elongated (possibly also frizzy) curl on the ends that won’t last. Interesting concept though, and I can see where this might have some utility - mini twists for instance, mine always curled up on the ends as they dried, or as the style aged. I could see these coming in handy to keep them hanging straighter for longer
Right on time, time! I saw these on a blog post and was intrigued (although I knew I’d stick to the banding method!) You make such informative and timely videos! Thank you!
I agree with you . I like the side without the weights. Thanks for sharing 😊
I definitely preferred the weighted side. But I'm only commenting because you asked. However you like your hair, is how I love it!
Lia!! Your hair is absolutely beautiful
I love your true reviews Lia. There are some questionable ingredients in some of the products that made me put it back on the shelf.
I’m a thin 4c and just use bobby pins and smaller twists to keep my twist straight as they dry. I’d never heard of hair weights until this video and they are a pass for me.
This is nothing bobby pinning the twist back or using a silk hair scrunchie and letting it dry couldn’t have done. No thanks TPH, your hair looks great though 😊
🙋🏽♀️👏🏽Hey there...Never heard of those...Thanks for sharing..ky...mbell
I like both sides on you honestly & I understand your opinions...I'll still use both methods, just depends on the look and length of time I'd like to maintain the style if I used the weights or not. I personally like the using the weights along with banding for overnight b/c I sweat in my scalp nightly, so the weights help me to reduce shrinkage in the routs. Thank you for your review.
I use to use the banding technique 😮I may try this
I have really tight curls and i feel like for someone with my hair type the weights make sense.
Not sure if you've tried Pattern Beauty products yet. They are awesome!!!
Great video Lia🎉🎉🎉! I knew nothing about the weights so I’m going to try them and see if I notice a significant change in my twist out length or curl pattern.

Beautiful hair. I don't see much difference with the weights. Where did you purchase your necklace? Can you please provide a link if you don't mind? ❤❤
Oh dang, years ago a lady came out with something like this called Sprangz. Her videos are still on KZread. I bought them but they didn't work for me because of the way you have to apply them. I may try these. I just want to use them in the shower while washing my hair in big twists.
I used two clips on each twist. One at the base of the neck touching my head and one at the end of the strand. Try that to get even more stretch.
The weights will keep my hair from shrinking when I’m wearing the twist’s as a style because my hair is 4C and my twists shrink up to half the length but I wouldn’t use them for a twist out I would just stretch the finished style.
Hey Lia how are you doing? You have very beautiful natural hair. I'm looking for something for split ends and breakage. Do you have a solution for type 4B?
Did not know about the weights, but I think they definitely didn’t do anything for your hair. Your tried and true twist routine jumps hoops over those weights! Stick with the Talia way! 👌🏽😁💕🫶🏽
I bought these a month ago and I still haven’t used them. I was about to return them and now I definitely will.

Try them for yourself they may work better
I wonder if the definition results you usually get are due to the fact you usually do smaller twists? I know if I twisted my hair chunkier to use the weights I would be redoing it every day 😂. Not for everyone needs to be on the package
Ok now that its done I actually like the right side being longer. It looks less frizzy too.
I have thick hair too and I feel the weights help elongate it but I constantly have to retwist for definition after the first day. I wish the weight was heavier too
Never heard of weights. Thanks for the info. I Say No to the weights. It was a good idea though. I say just use a small duckbill clip at the ends to weight down hair.
I tried these a few months back and had similar results. Barely could tell a difference in length and lost definition.
Thank you for presenting something I never heard about and I am glad you were not sponsored because I felt you were fair with your actions. I don’t think I will try because my hair shrinks and the results of the weights didn’t seem worth it. By the way, how much did the weights costs? Thanks again Y

They're $16.
It looks like the other sides was not all the way dried or maybe try another type of product. The no weighted side does look way better.
Hi Lia, Thanks for the video. I think I will pass. I have 3b hair, thin and curly. No weights for me. Hard pass. But, I appreciate the video.
Can you say how you slept on your hair when the twists were still in? Not asking because I think it would make a difference in the weights, just asking in general. Do you tie your twists up tight or just bonnet your whole head.

I pineapple my hair and apply a bonnet

@@LiaLavon thank you 🙏🏾
weights pulling on my delicate scalp sounds scary, but you said your scalp is iron clad so it might actually be a good thing for you😊Plus I have 2c hair so got no curl to shrink😅TFS this fun video
After rewatching, the mousse from Pattern Beauty would do much better.
Just use knocker balls from the beauty supply
I think you’re so right. The difference is that you already have a looser curl pattern so there’s not a drastic difference. Either way though, I think both sides were beautiful on you and have a different affect. Me personally with the back of my hair being 4c, these could really be useful to me. So thanks for the review💗
The natural side look better. Throw them Weights away girl..
Other videos ive seen they used the braiding technique and applied more than 1 weight to each braid and it definitely elongated their hair. I will try that.
Was the weighted side a bit shorter to begin with?

lol no, I wear my hair straight at times so it would need to be one length
I remember seeing something like this from a YTbr, not on here anymore. But you had to twirl the weights on the ends of your hair. I like both sides but it would be a temporary effect on me. The twist out was cute.

Yeah they were called Sprangz. I still have mine. The woman who created them had SUPER thick hair all the way to the ends. They don't hold in the hair if your hair isn't crazy thick.
Hair weights seem too gimmicky for me. I’ll just deal with the shrinking. 🤷🏾♀️

I only want the them because my hair so short right nowy twists don’t fall at all 😂
The weights manipulate the curl pattern but people with different coil patterns does get better results
I think the weights would be great for someone with type 4 hair
