    Great job on the video! I too purchased the Cross in .308. I set mine up with a Steiner T536 5X Prism Scope... love it! The outdoor range I go to has targets in 100-yard increments out to 600 yards. I'm only an average shooter and I have no problem striking the different size steels, even at the longer distances. Great rifle!!

    I have the same setup( rifle and scope) except a silencerco asr muzzle break. Shooting Norma 150 soft point deer rounds, I was getting consistent 5/8" groups. I'm incredibly happy with the rifles performance. Can't wait to get a suppressor for it.

    308 is a great round , I have had my Sig -cross with Leupold 5HD scope for about 5 months , extremely please with the rifle , about month ago I got a cow elk @ 189 yard in Jensen Utah in snowy day very cold condition .. love the rifle .. but I have had issues with cheaper factory ammunition ( 3 misfire ) But with good quality ammunition nothing stops this rifle ..

    Fantastic video. Grateful for your content. Id like to buy the .308. Such a useful platform for pack hunting. Sorta wish they had equipped the .308 w an 18” barrel for a touch more velocity. Curious if you wouldn’t mind commenting on the group sizes of the subsonic ammo you used. This rifle makes a great subsonic host imo. (If accurate). Thank you!!

    An 18” option would definitely be nice! The groups on the subs was just over one MOA.

    Probably the best review I’ve seen on this rifle. You touch on the ammo gr/brand, then move on to shooting. Other than that round you pulled, that shot group top right was good from a 16 inch barrel.

    Awesome video man! Just curious, what magnification would you prefer on your optic?

  • @Freedom-us3zr

    @Freedom-us3zr

    8 ай бұрын

    It just depends on what you want to shoot. It’s a light weight gun, so I would keep the optic small to save weight. A 10x would be a good balance of decent magnification, and not being to big and additional weight.

    Great video. What target stand are you using? I like the swinging/spinning hangers. I wonder what caliber you’d need to use to get the big one spinning like the little one?? Really though, I’d like to have a target stand setup like yours.

    I got mine ik 308, i opted for the vortex strike eagle 5 to 24 x 45 ... i dont know of that is too much scope or not? I mean its great it was just really expensive for me i got a few weeks to take it back of o should get something else?

    I'd go for the .308 too. It's just readily available and cheaper. 6.5mm CM is a rich boy's .308. Slightly better at longer ranges, probably....750+ yards? Both very good rounds

    This is exactly why I got my Cross in .308 as it is much cheaper here in Honolulu and hunting on the Outer Islands is not long range. I also have a Sig BDX scope that I will mount to my Cross.

    Also it uses a shorter barrel, and the gun is a bit lighter . I think especially in that gun the 308 is the better caliber . For the 6.5 credit , it surpasses 308 at around 350-400 yards , but that’s longer than most people hunt at anyway .

    Hay I have the Sig cross 308 and I was wondering is there a second safety on it because every time I go to try to shoot it never goes off and I was wondering if it was a factory malfunction or if there's a second safety on it

  • @Freedom-us3zr

    No second safety that I know of. I would check the back of the primer on the cartridge and see if it’s getting a lite primer strike.

    I'm really torn between the Cross .308 or the Cross STX .308 (both for hunting). I've seen arguments for both, mainly if you're going to buy the Cross, and can afford the little extra, it's worth splurging on the STX. Any thoughts?

  • @Freedom-us3zr

    @Freedom-us3zr

    I like the compactness of the shorter 16” barrel personally. If you prefer the 20” barrel and want to shoot a little longer range, I would definitely get the STX. Thanks for watching.

    @JD Rambro whats throwing me off is the barrel length. Usually prefer 308 but use to 308 having a longer barrel then 16 and 6.5 longer then 18. Either seem more accurate then the other?

  • @J_D_Rambro

    @J_D_Rambro

    Жыл бұрын

    @codykelly8870 they are both accurate I got a deer at about 250yds with the 308, from now on the creed will be my go to. I took all the different ammo I have for both rifles and ran them through a chronograph, with that data I hit steel at 500 yards (12 outta 15) and 800 yards (6 5 outta 10). With practice/patience I know I can do better. Also I have burris emininator scopes on both rifles. You can't go wrong with either IMHO

    @codykelly8870 also when I hunt I do not intend on taking shots much further than 400yds. So they fit my needs. I will shoot long distance on range days though.
