Testing the new Laser Cutter and Engraver | Creality Falcon2 Pro Laser

Ғылым және технология

Creality have recently sent me their new pro level laser engraving and cutting machine to try. In this video we take a look through some of the features on the machine and I do my first few cuts and engraves to see what the machine is capable of.
I am engraving some high pressure laminate to see how it might look and how suitable if would be for making the faces of custom boat gauges. I am also engraving and cutting some of the mahogany veneer that is left over from the boat I am currently building.
I will definitely be using this machine more in the future as I learn more about what it can do (I am currently completely new to laser machines!)

Thought of a gift for subscribers using the laser cutting machine would be a high-pressure laminate key ring with a 1/3 scale coaster layout design. Would love to be the first Aussie to have one!

Imagine what a 60W would do ! One thing I thought when watching this would be what would you think is the smallest viable work area to puzzle piece together a much larger frame - your temptress frame pieces are several feet long at a time generally - now whilst I have enough space to build a nice boat - I don't have enough space for a CNC machine and a boat!

Would be really nice at making some sort of inlay designs. If that was something you'd thought about adding to the boat.

Yes it would be ideal for that! I might try some inlay work with it 👍

I’m wondering how often the base bars will need replacing and particularly the cost. That’s a how long is piece of string question of course and depends on a few factors not least of which is how careful you are with finding the “just enough” cut settings. Cool machine though.

I think they will last quite a while, as it’s only a 22w laser it won’t do much to the aluminium, it’s taking the paint off a few of them so far but I think they’ll hold up pretty well. Time will tell.

@@DanLeeBoatbuilding I’ve zero experience with these. I guess you’re right, 22W isn’t going have a lot of cutting power.
