HELP> dyson vs. revlong. pls help guys. i have thick, coarse, 3b curly hair that ive been straihgten for a while: flat iron 2 years, revlon for a year. i have so much heat damage despite usong the revlong for the past year along with hair oiling and hair masks weekly. so many split ends and so much breakage. i assume the revlon is better than the titanium flat iron i used earlier, and its wayy faster too. but... it is causing damage, so i bought the dyson. pls help me. idk if i should return it. actually, my mom bought it for me bc im a kid. but idk if its worth it. i tried the round brush attachment once and here is my verdict: my roots are wayyyy flatter than from the revlong bc of the smaller barrel. used less time than the revlon. **someone whose used both can u tell me if the dyson is heat damaging? or if youve only used the dyson on curly hair, have u noticed heat damage???? pls help me. ill feel rly guilty if i waste my mom's money. it's ONLY worth it to me if the round brush dyson is less HEAT DAMAGING than the revlon. i like using the curling barells, but that's not why i bought it.

Thank you for the honest review! I have the same hair type/texture as yours & I totally agree that paddle brushes just don't do it for curly hair! I have had the Dyson hair dryer for a few years & LOVE it but it would be nice to have an all-in-one styling device. I think I'm gonna take the plunge & get one!!!

to me what really makes it worth that $500 is the fact that it doesn't burn your hair like the one step does. after using my Revlon one step i smell the heat in my hair. I just set aside $50 aside every week and didn't even feel it.

@@andreiitah23 it depends on your hair. If it's not too long or too straight, it may be worth it for you. It didn't work for my very long Slavic hair and it didn't work for an Indian blogger with the same length as mine. The brush is okay but the styler didn't work even when I bought additional extra long ones. If you're considering saving for it, please consider what I'm saying because I received this as a gift and had very high expectations for it.

Girl the answer is YES. I just got it and am OBSESSED. It works WAY BETTER than any other hair tool I have ever used. I got mine through those qvc easy payments!! Weird that you prefer the brush meant for thin and straight hair instead of the one meant for thick curly hair...which you have. I wish the round brush attachment was a bit bigger but I’m sure that’s just because my hair is so freaking long

Edit: I have the revlon one step dryer and volumizer and I love it! But I meant that I wanted something that would dry and give you those beautiful curls, like the dyson dryer will, but with a more affordable price tag. ☺️ I am waiting for Revlon to come out with some kind of curling blow dryer because $550 ain't it 😭

I got this as a bday gift (I already own the Dyson hair dryer) and returned it. There’s definitely a learning curve to it. If you have the time to learn how to use it and you’re going to curl your hair regularly then it’s worth the price. Your hair has to be damp and I found while I was using it the other side of my hair would get dry, so I had to keep rewetting it. It’s a cool product if you can afford it.

The technology that they use for the Dyson hair dryer is different than regular drugstore blowdryers. The dyson has various heat settings but does not go beyond 100 degree Celsius which wouldn't damage your hair as much. Regular traditional drugstore blowdryers often go over the celcius to which would damage and dry out our hair. It is an expensive product, but if you have ever felt the air that comes out of the dyson, the air is much smoother feeling, resulting is much healthier hair compared to drugstore

I had the dyson hairdryer, I’m a hairdresser. If you have a spare £300 go ahead and get it but I definitely find the GHD air a lot more powerful and makes the hair smoother for a 1/3rd of the price.... make your own mind up but I know where I’d rather spend the money 🤷🏻‍♂️

Finally, you tested this. I wanted to see how this worked for you. Your hair looks very healthy and full with it. I think this will damage your hair FAR less than a flat iron and probably less than the Revlon brush because this has a mechanism that keeps the temp relatively low ( confirmed by my infrared thermometer). I did not like ANY of the brush attachments though. I only like the Coanda curlers.

I've watched a lot of demos on this, including from the Dyson people. You seriously HAVE to have damp hair when using the barrels if you want your curls to hold like a curling iron. The barrels will finish drying your hair. You use the dryer attachment to "pre-dry" if your hair is wet to get it to the damp stage. THEN use the barrels for curling. Hair won't curl properly if it is too wet OR too dry. You also need smaller sections for the pieces to set properly and evenly. I just watched another KZreadr realize what she was doing wrong, correct it in her video and gave updates at 6 hours then 20 hours to show how long her curls lasted. The smoothing brushes are for just that. The round brush is a volumizing brush to give lift at the roots. All of the attachments will dry your hair so please redo your hair with it damp to get the best results. This kit also is supposed to cause less heat damage because they are using air and there's a heat/temp regulator. Your hair results still look beautiful but I want to see the right curl results because we have similar hair types/curl patterns. Thanks.

Cherylyn L. Tompkins - I agree with all you’ve said here. I have this & have super thick hair with a bit of a wave, the AirWrap is designed to be used on damp hair so would be good to see it tried again the way it was designed to be used. 😊

@@macimoro27 Sure thing. The KZreadr's name is Quynh Pham. She's done a number of videos on the Dyson Airwrap and so for is the one that I've seen best demos it. She has a video of when she first received it and tried out majority of the heads. She has another that does an 8 or 9 month follow-up and let's you know what she still uses every day and what she uses just on occasion (for her personal styling needs). You can find links to those on her KZread channel or search her name and Dyson Airwrap. Here's the follow-up she did with the curling barrels after realizing she didn't use it properly in the first video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dn9sy9OQldW5ftI.html

My natural hair is exactly like hers but has less curl... But it's just as frizzy. I can't wear it down at all because it flies and gets stuck everywhere. And you know, mixed people like her usually have thicker hair strands, I'm a natural blonde with extremely fine strands. Even one blow dry with a heat protectant damages it so I have to use oil treatments after... So no, I definitely can't say that I like this type of hair. Some of us are just less fortunate than others.

Ahair dresser ruined my ends using a similar item, when I went out it was nice a shiny, but when I shower my hair I would notice the ends completely damaged that I had to trim it. SO again, the damaging effect would be a good reason for me to but it
