I've had mine for a little over a year now and i love it. Its the perfect size and thickness for a good super tough survival knife. And being full flat grind lends it to be a decent camp knife too. Even if its a tad thick. And 3v is surprisingly stainless for a non stainless.

It looks to me like you might not be pushing the knife far enough into the sheath for it to lock in. It happens with pretty much all the sheaths on the CS knives with guards. I did the same thing with my Recon Scout and Trailmaster when I first got them and thought the sheaths were crap, but I didn't notice that the guard is supposed to go in deeper and lock in. At first the fit is tight and I didn't notice that the guard was kind of floating above the slight dimples in the side of the sheath that lock the guard in. Try pushing a little harder and I'll bet the guard slips over the dimples and locks into place. I do like the Recon Scout. I've got the older O-1 model, but I've been eyeing the 3V since it came out. It's probably the best version of the Recon Scout made to date, and your review is making me want one.

Good choice of knife brand and the Trail Master probably would have been better for what you plan to use it for out in the woods. ⚔️

What's the other knife you're carrying in the sheath behind the Recon's? 🤘🏻🔥

Im a Huge Cold Steel Fan and I own a ton of their blades including an 01 steel Recon Scout , I really like it but its more of a fighting knife IMO , If C.S. got rid of the guard , made the tang a little wider and put removeable Micarta Scales on it I think they would sell a Ton of them or atleast a Run of them to see howd they sell , just my opinion though ..... 👍🖖

That's what Condor is for ,Cold Steel Recon Scout is just what you said it is first & foremost a fighting knife and the Trail Master is more for camp and bush craft.

It doesn't appear the knife is fully pushed into the sheath. Once you push it in fully, it will snap in place securely and held in place by the internal tabs. It should snap in place securely enough that you will need to use your thums to push on the sheath to remove the knife. Thanks for the video.
