This turned out so good! Usually a big fan of pastels but thankfully not feeling the urge to run and buy the set, something is off to me.

Turner has a pastel range in acrylic gouache. Holbein have such too but they're not in a particular series, just in there with the rest of the colors. (It's just matte acrylic tho, I don't know why they call it gouache) I find them expensive but they're really opaque and a little goes a long way so it kinda evens out.

I ordered this set because I’ve been looking for a brush roll for when I go out to the park to watercolor and couldn’t resist the rainbows! I might see if some of my gouache tubes fit in there as well. So for the price, I don’t think it was too terrible of a deal. I haven’t tried the paints yet.

I can't even bring my self to do simple art so I never find myself finishing a lot of stuff when I have art block. I Admire these artists who embrace the simple art style. So I'm really trying to push my self to try and do it instead of always trying to make realistic art mostly females . So I'm trying to practice female cartoons and simple art projects. Trying to let myself know it's ok to do stuff like this BB p

Simple drawings are wonderful. I love drawing simple things because they relax me. Whenever i have to draw a more complex piece, i need to plan it ahead and the painting process is long and stressful

On not being a real artist without being messy. True story from a documentary called "Eye of the Beholder." Famous painter Larry Elmore who is best known for his fantasy art in gaming books (like Dungeons and Dragons) has an easel he's been using from the 80's. There is paint on it literally from every painting he's done since he began. It's built up and every color of the rainbow. So you're so right - art is messy! Love your work, style and humor.

Cute painting! kitty name : pixel! The dotting tools are very multifunctional - you can use them as embossing tools, making texture in more heavy body acrylic, as a tracing tool with transfer paper to apply drawings to canvas and so much more. Perfect for mini mushroom dots though, nyom!

the set is cute, but seems to be lacking black and especially white. These colors imo would make it more versatile, 'cause there'll be a possibility to make the main palette at least lighter. Like even with a cartoony style, how are you supposed to paint for example eyes with no white at all and no darker colors to balance the existing light tones? It might be confusing for beginners :(

I think it's literally supposed to be a pastel set. Theres no reason to put a black or white when.... you can get those anywhere? Why waste the space for a black and white in a pastel set.

Yeah it doesn't make sense. I know the pastel tones are intentional but it really limits the use of this set. Literally anyone can make pastels if they have white paint so I can't say I get the point.

@@vinnyb.7825 i completely agree with your point that it's a precised pastel set, but considering the huge amount of brushes and even these doting tools this set might be confused for an all-in-one starter pack. The creator did what she did, it's her set after all, i only meant that white (and optionally black) would make it more versatile. I don't know what kind of audience she has and if she made a special tutorial on how to use this set, but i hope that she points that fact out for possible users so they don't get disappointed trying to use it as is and blaming the inability to mix a lot of colors on their own skills. In any case this was not about criticising Moriah Elisabeth as a creator, she did a great job, it's just my honest opinion on the set

There's space for having one more paint pocket, symmetry-wise, I really wish they'd taken the opportunity to include a very opaque white in the set. Or at least have the room for one. So there would be a choice to change the shades and/or opacity. Low cover paints can be good for making gradients and building layers easier but it is a bit strange to not include a white in a pastel set. White paint can indeed be found anywhere but there are large differences in their properties, which I certainly didn't know when I was new to painting. I feel it would have made the set even more approachable for beginners to include a suitable one.

That set is so cute and so is your painting. I also love pastel colors and kawaii style.

Your painting is hella cute! I love all the cat stuff. Those dotting tools look similar to my nail art ones. One side of each has different sizes of dots, while the other side has the same small dot on each of them. Not sure why they do that. Maybe so you always have a bigger and smaller one? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think I’d prefer a larger variety of sizes

I'm someone who likes to paint with really thick, chunky acrylic paint so these aren't for me, I want to glob paint on and I always end up using a lot, so I always search for larger tubes- I'm happy with how thick the Master's Touch brand (think that's what it's called) from Hobby Lobby is. I can definitely see how thinner paints can be used, but with mine I always get it chunky then water it down slightly if need be because I'd rather start with chunky then try to build up thin. The colors in this set are definitely beautiful, and I love Moriah- it looks like it's a step up from the $1 Apple Barrel from Walmart, but too thin for my own preferences. The case is adorable, and it's incredibly aesthetically appealing, and I'm sure I'd have fun with it, just can't justify spending the money on it. I'm glad you gave an honest review! I noticed from a few other videos (including Moriah's) that it looks like the paint is definitely a go back and layer it up type, but the other videos haven't really talked about it so I was wondering if it was just camera lighting. Thank you!

You still mixed ... If your a fan maybe. But easy and cheap to create that whole set . I have the same dotting tools very cheep too get . the only difference is the style. SMH. A young beginner may be but if you can't afford her set . Just diy your own for much less .
