Wade, I had a friend in Florida who was a retired NASA engineer. He made a good living tuning high-end Trap shotgun patterns. He had a sliding weight on the barrel that moved up and down on the barrel, secured by plastic tip set screws. By adjusting the sliding weight, he tuned long-range trap shotguns to shoot incredibly tight patterns. My friend died of cancer. Rifle barrel tuners are becoming quite popular and you may remember the old BOSS system on Browning and Winchester rifles, but my friend's system just used a weight that slid up and down on the barrel, with amazing results with such an easy application with some time and effort into testing. If memory serves me right, he found the node by adjusting in 1/2" increments up and down on the barrel.

Wade, the flashlight on the barrel can sure change harmonics, you may want to try it on and off after deer season.

Yeah that's my one complaint about Stoeger/Benelli shotguns. In the heat of the moment I can never remember I have to hold low. Got a Vortex red dot on mine, and it's hell on deer and turkeys.

@@adamcraven2002 Yeah. It's a Vortex Venom. I got the small dot for turkey hunting, but I think the bigger dot would work better for dog hunting. I haven't had any trouble though.

Just a quick heads-up to anyone shooting a Mossberg 590M. Roll crimp reloads do not fit in the mag. 27 grs LS, mg42 and 12pellets of .31 cal in 2.75 Cheddite hull and roll crimp. (You know the one)They will go in the mag but as soon as they tip a bit they jamb in tight. Still looking for a work around. Many thanks to Wade for years of knowledge at the click of a button. -Buford

Are you using the 590M with the separate box mag? Most factory stuff seems ok except some real old slugs. Just my own reloads are giving trouble, which is the problem.@@travisweldmaster7815

    Wouldn’t the .275 be the same as a 270 since the 270 is a .277 or a 6.8 mm while 7mm is a .284

Consistently shot high left. Better have Halftime shoot the gun on paper to see if it hits point POA with him. With patterns that tight I’d be putting an optic on it to dial it in like yours Wade.

Hey wayde i have a new storger m3500 v2 with a buck kicker extra full and it seems to be scattering pellets badly no matter what i shoot. Loads like 3-1/2 00 Winchester , Remington 3in 00, Federal premium(copper plated)3in and idk why because in all my other shotguns with an extra full choke it patterns them amazing ,but even at 40yds its scattering them. Any suggestions?

@@BubbaRountreeOutdoors also i tried a light fool as well as a standard but i noticed as i shot more through the xtr full the pattern started improving little by little is it possibly the rough finish inside the choke being worn down from shooting will improve the pattern? I'm not sure if the stoegers come with extra shims like most Benelli do...if so...I would drop the comb using a low shim...then pattern it with bird shot @ 20yrds. to see how much the pattern dropped. I went down .250 lower on my Benelli M2...it now has a 50/50 pattern instead of a 70/30 it came with..which is good at the trap & skeet range...not so good using buckshot...If you're just using a front bead
