in saudi some jewelers make “fake” cartiers by copying a mold of the real one. they are “fake” because it is not an authentic cartier but they still use real gold and same quality/even better than cartier.

I was at cartier, and this lady and her husband walked in to have the bracelet she bought from some online luxury reseller polish. I think it turned out fake, and I am not sure if Cartier refused to give them back her fake jewelry or not but I all I can say was that she was hysterically crying loud at the boutique and her poor husband was mad. It was a very awkward day.

@HorseLuver4Ever I am not really sure regarding the full extent of the event as I was there for my own personal business, but its not hard not to overheard them as the woman was almost screaming in the store and the husband was on disbelief dropping f bombs left and right. She was trying to convince the SA that her item was real with all the paperwork she had with her, but I had a feeling she was more worried about her husband. The store manager got involved as well as 1 security guy. Everyone in the boutique that day was trying to be polite and not to look in their direction and pretended to go on their business. I have the same thoughts, as you. can they really keep it? I heard some countries confiscate fake bags and such at the airport, especially in France. Anyway, I am just sharing my unforgettable shopping experience in Cartier Chicago boutique and reason why no matter how good the deal I find at the preloved market I never entertain them as I dont want to be in their shoes. Yea might be more but in today's world it's better to be safe than sorry.

They are dim in those stores. If she knowingly bought a replica, they could state they are confisticating a contraband for report and submitting it as evidence to trade good and counterfeit offices. But even then, it works better if they don't do that but work with the customer so they can get the evidence to shut the fake seller down. Now, if she bought it unknowingly and they withhold it from her, then that is theft because she will need the item to claim her money back, especially as the seller can also claim the item was genuine. Very messy.

This just proves I should have saved $10k and bought a fake 😂
