I’m originally from Nottingham and there’s a pothole that was around for a while that was breaking people’s tires so of course the city council was asked to fill it. Two years later it was still there so someone bought it a Collin the Caterpillar and threw it a party 😂

That was just someone’s version of a cake as usually they are a celebration cake but people can use them for whatever situation they want to for example a leaving party

@@thelma1251 no of course. I think it was the irony and slight British sarcasm of the contrasting things that people find funny... So it says "it's meant to be a celebration cakes" anc then the cake example says "sorry you're leaving", implying that it's a celebration that a collegue etc is leaving.. When usually.. It's quite a sad time losing a colleague... So. Doesn't quite gel... 😂.

The Colin the Caterpillar is made by Park Cakes for M&S and they sell discarded cakes at a fraction of the price. My brother once had a misspelled Happy 3rd birthday cake for his 45th last year :) Colin has a girlfriend with raspberry filling :)

The best ever Colin the Caterpillar was sometimes made by my Gran for special occasions and as a treat when I was just a kid. That would be around 1950. Sadly she is no longer with us otherwise she could have sued [insert here] for using her ideas and the name Colin. It was a bit of a joke when Gran said, 'I'm going to bake Colin.'
