Testing Defrost On A Lennox 2019 ML14XP1
On a Preventive Maintenance today I was working on a Lennox, putting it through its paces. This is how I tested defrost. #hvac #hvaclife #fieldpiece #lennox #defrost

Not necessary to disconnect the fan wire or move the jumper. Just use the tip of needle nose to jump out the test pins for about 2 seconds. It'll speed up the defrost timer.
Thanks I enjoy these shorter( under 10 min) videos
I believe those jumpers are standard 2.54mm Circuit Board Jumper Cap Shunts used on pretty much all circuit boards. Cheap to have spares in your bag if so.
Nice, have a Concord. Gotta the board from Lennox
Holy sh!t, your working on a Lennox.
Sounded like the unit was already in defrost because the fan ran after it cycled and you reconnected the fan terminal on the board. It might had kicked out on its own without the jumper and was just a coincidence. Those metal panels on the Lennox's seem to be awfully noisy and vibrate and rattle. I certainly wouldn't recommend one outside a bedroom window. They start with quiet a jolt, especially the heat pumps. I had to tweak the panels so they wouldn't vibrate and rub on the coils. Took quite a bit of time to get it just right.
So I just mess with on like this… recent install heat pump cool mode runs fine but heat mode with in 15 seconds my pressures sky rocket to 575 psi on high and low. Also gives me a code of ambient temperature sensor problem. What would cause that BO$$ man. I diagnosed it as a TXV problem what u think
I’m working on a Lennox air to air heat pump. Only runs when I jump out test mode or the test defrost. Says circuit board failure. I ordered a new board. But if it runs when I jump out defrost, isn’t that board good??? I’m so sick of these heat pumps lol help
If you would have pulled the jumper shunt back off immediately after the unit initiated defrost it would have stayed in defrost until the sensor warmed up and opened back up. Leaving the jumper shunt on will just speed the test up and kick it right back out. Those boards come factory set at a 90 minute intervals. For you guys that live in colder climates you need to make sure you move the jumper shut down to 60 minutes. An hour and a half of run time, in between defrost cycles, is way too long in colder climates. And if you're up north or in a higher elevation (above the frost line) I would go ahead and set it to defrost every 30 minutes.
Nicccceeeeee. Thanks
you can see where the gutter has been overflowing down the perimeter of the house right on the edge of the unit , people never do preventative maintenance.
👍
Need an answer hopefully by tomorrow isn’t…..😅😂
One weird thing about Lenox heat pumps is that there's no accumulator
Must be nice to wear jeans and a leather jacket to work there Fonz
🍺😐👍🏻
Other way bypass connect together Defrost Thermostat It's will Defrost after 10 second.
