We unpacked and tested B2 quadruped robot from Unitree, and here are our findings:
B2 is capable of steadily carrying load while both standing and walking, can develop a speed of more than 6 m/s, effortlessly performs continuous climbing up and down the stairs (more than 45 degrees angle & 20-24 cm high) and demonstrates stability on uneven and slippery surfaces, regardless from which of the sides it approaches them.
The robot is extremely manoeuvrable
across diverse environments, showcases an impressive jumping distance of more than 1.6 m, and is capable of getting back
on its feet in case of a fall.
A 32-channel automotive-grade
LiDAR on board provides a guaranteed
obstacle avoidance (which we also tested).
Overall, B2 is a robust, innovative & comprehensive solution for a range of industrial applications.
According to numbers, compared to the previous models, B2 has achieved:
• a 170% increase in joint performance
• a 100% increase in sustained load
• a 200% increase in endurance
It also allows to switch between wheeled & legged forms and is compatible with an autonomous charging station.
