New Super Intelligent Robot Dog

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is Unitree Robotics' first companion robot dog, the GO1. The GO1 is packed with some incredible technology such as intelligent side following which mirrors the movement of the person operating the robot keeping it at a safe distance at all times. Weighing at only 12kg and being able to carry 3-5kg on its back the Unitree Robotics GO1 makes the perfect shopping companion. It can also jog alongside the user for up to an hour at 17km/h. Domi gives us a closer look at why the GO1 is one of the coolest pieces of tech currently available.
Domi: / domi.sof

    I’m looking at this, and I’m thinking that it could be a perfect guide dog for the blind. That is, of course, if it can be programmed to help its handler around obstacles. Might also need to be modified with an upward facing camera to keep track of objects at head hight of its handler. Oh that would be so cool.

    Guide dogs give companionship that would be lacking with a robot, however.

  • @MarzzRover

    @MarzzRover

    Жыл бұрын

    @@angrytater2456 honestly, this wouldn’t bother me so much. I could be biased, though. I own a handful of companion robots. It would be a better solution for people who live or work in environments where they can’t have dogs. For example, I work in a machine shop. I cannot safely bring a dog into my place of work, where a robotic dog would only need periodic cleanings to remove any debris from its limbs. You can also transport a robotic dog more easily on services like Uber. People have been rejected from Uber rides because they have biological dogs. This dog can just be folded up and put in the trunk until the destination is reached. It can likewise be folded to fit under a bus seat, or even possibly an airplane seat. It takes about two years to prepare a guide dog for its handler. Lots of rigorous training, which only yields a small percentage of guides to the number of specially bred litters each year. While the initial training for a robot model could take years as well, the subsequent units could be programmed in the matter of minutes or hours. Updates could be put out over the air, so they always have the newest information available to them and their handler. Not to mention, a biological dog guide has a working life span of about eight years, where a robot could theoretically function indefinitely as long as it is maintained. People can still get biological dog guides if they want the companionship, but a robotic guide should not be ignored as a possible solution to some of the issues people have with biological dog guides. The technology will definitely need some fine-tuning, but a robot like this definitely makes an easier platform to work from.

Can walk/run at a speed that corresponds to your speed (side follow mode) or using joystick pressure and direction that you apply. In jog mode the continuous motion of the legs is best for some applications. They have a couple of preprogramed dances and tricks (roll over, beg, etc.) as well. He has stereo vision cameras and ultrasonic sensors for object detection and recognition and ranging judgement. They are really not quite ready for general consumer market yet, but in time they will be.

    Great to see this coming Dystopian technology eased into the mainstream so subtlely ..... I liked how they used robots similar to these to police and control people during lockdowns in Asia , particularly Singapore !! It was like watching a Black Mirror episode !! Don't worry though , D.A.R.P.A in the U.S has much more advanced versions of this tech for the near future rollout when required ..... like the next orchestrated " crisis " .... And their versions have weapons attached !!! 😃😃😄😄😄😜😜
