Testing Aluminum Grindplates // Aggressive Inline Skating

Спорт

I love the feel and sound of grinding metal on metal. The Akerue frames were amazing, and I wanted to see if aluminum grind plates would offer a similar feeling. So I made some samples and went to the mini ramp to test them.

Do these aluminium grind plates do any damage to copings? I always had mental images of them shaving off a little bit of metal when you grind with the sound it makes.

If the trucks on a skateboard wont destroy the coping, I don't see how aluminum grind plates are going to hurt it.

  • @2napoleon6

@@transfiguration8865 True enough! That said, I've seen copings get destroyed at local parks by BMX pegs and skateboard trucks. (Likely poor materials and poor build quality in the park though, to be fair).

  • @transfiguration8865

@@2napoleon6 , Yes, coping will get destroyed by pegs from BMXrs. Pegs destroy everything, especially curbs. We had a skatepark in my hometown, and BMXrs weren't allowed in it, because of their pegs. I never saw any coping get destroyed by skateboarders or rollerbladers, but the second a BMXer is allowed in, the coping is destroyed in a few days. It's the very reason why they were banned form the skatepark, because constant repairs are just too expensive to let them in.

Clang!! haha great sound. you might want to consider using hydration tablets (i use a brand called science in sport (sis) GO tablets ) but they might not be available in US. dont use them all the time. if its an intense workout day. (2 miles skate, 3 miles walk, 40 mins cardio.( before breakfast) then another 2.5 miles walk) if i have the tablet in water during the cardio, about 20 mins i can feel the difference and my energy is up again for another 90s mins its worth trying out. probably about $9 or $10 for a tube of 20 in various flavours. i'm 46 yrs old and it works for me. it isnt like a caffiene buzz or anything, just revitalised. all the best

I’m wondering about the thickness of that aluminum grindplate which looks very impressive & I agree it sounds awesome, like the cool sound of cowboys’ spurs in movies. But my question is when you start sliding & the plate makes contact is there a noticeable bump? Also, I think they would look fabulous if anodized. 👍☮️🌞
