Testicular Cancer: First Symptoms & Treatment Decisions | Matthew's Story (Video 1/3)

Matthew was diagnosed with the highest stage of testicular cancer, 3C, at just 24 years old. What started as a series of, "Why me, why now?" questions evolved into what he calls a life of greater purpose. He went from physical fitness instructor to a mental, emotional coach for cancer patients and survivors.
In his conversation with Stephanie, The Patient Story founder, Matthew shares his entire journey from getting diagnosed, chemo and surgery, and how complications (rare ones!) led to building his resilience.
Video segments:
1: How Matthew Got Diagnosed
2. Going through chemotherapy (BEP) and surgeries
3. Quality of life reflections, including self-advocacy and getting through the hardest times
His full story will be live on thepatientstory.com - link will be updated!

thanks for sharing man, it's appreciated. a close friend of mine, a mechanic, had been having health issues (sick, etc.) for some time but nothing alarming. he fainted while working and was rushed to the hospital where he was diagnosed with an advanced form of the disease. the outlook has gotten better and I think things are going to work out. I can't help but wonder how much better off he would have been if he had sought medical attention earlier. Early detection seems to be a key factor for many cancers. I know that I need to get better at contacting medical professionals when I have concerns, I'm a little traumatized though as they called me a "hypocondriac" and said I had "anxiety" when I was very ill and bedridden for common issues that progressed and took 2 years to diagnose due to what appeared to be poorly educated and inexperienced medical staff.

well ive found a lump on my left testical and I'm only 17 so I'm in denial about even this possibility but at the same time i need to sort of trust that it needs to be looked at, i have back pain but i also have scoliosis and it is usually sore anyways but I've also had chest pain and stuff which I'm confused about, not really sure about the shortness of breath though but I've been checked out for my heart and stuff and that's all fine and I'm no longer vaping or anything but i smoke weed every night but surely that wouldn't cause this so I'm very nervous and terrified that it is cancer and i just dont want people to be messing around down there as well, I'm very very scared rn lol

Go get that crap checked bro. Don’t be nervous. If you catch it early enough, you won’t need chemo. Trust me that crap sucks. I just went through it all.
