+markyboyire The fact they sold more records is why they are part of the Big Four. What's so hard to believe about that? Listen I am a much bigger Testament fan than I am an Anthrax fan, but it's not hard to realize that the "Big Four" are called that because they are the 4 "biggest" bands in Thrash. Anthrax was a lot more known on a commercial level, a lot more popular. That's what puts them in the Big Four. It's not called the Big Four because it's the 4 best bands. It's the 4 biggest.

Anthrax coined the term Thrash from they're song Metal Thrashing Mad. So yeah...

FUCKING AMAZING!!!!! FUCKING BRUTAL!!! Til this day, these guys can put a show and Chuck Billy sounds amazing after fighting off throat cancer!!! These guys fucking rule!!!!

Got to love reading all these "Big Four" comments. You people do realize that it's not a "Top Four" list, right? They're not the Big Four because they're the best or better than other bands, they're the Big Four because they pioneered the genre and made it possible for other bands to get their foot in the door/paved the way for Death Angel, Testament, Overkill, Vio-lence, Pantera, Sepultura and many others. Yes there were other bands out at the time like Exodus and etc. but these guys were on another level. You show respect to the forefathers of Thrash and appreciate what they did for Metal not make a list of who you think is more deserving of their legacy.

Vio-Lence literally has 1 good album, eternal nightmare, oppressing the masses is destroyed by the likes of rust in peace and seasons in the abyss for 2 popular egs from the same year, and no they arent just the big 4 because they pioneered, they are the big 4 coz their masterpieces as recognized as gold standards in metal, so stop this retarded false pretense about the big 4 just being the big 4 only coz of them being pioneers lol

IIIRattleHeadIII In 1993, Alex Skolnick and Louie Clemente were temporarily replaced respectively by Glen Alvelais and Paul Bostaph, both belonging to the Forbidden band. This formation published the live EP "Return to the Apocalyptic City". Shortly after this release, Glen Alvelais left the band and Paul Bostaph joined the Slayers.

Yes, a great band Overkill and my favorites albuns are: Taking Over, Fell The Fire and Necroshine. Are a lot of bands, all great and is very hard for only big four.

Testament most righteously deserves to make the "Big 4" the "Big 5". The new Brotherhood of the Snake album absolutely cements this. Crushing.

This is awesome Testament trivia history! I knew Bostaph played/recorded with them on (a couple occasions?) but didn't recall Glen in the band. I know they've had A LOT of members come and go over the years. Looks like I need to get my hands on that EP. (I thought that sounded like Bostaph's playing, in the video...)
