Test Tube Propagation Planters w/ Concrete

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hey you guys! I’m finally coming at you with the propagation station, aka the awesome JUMBO test tubes with concrete backing that I'm using for my “propagation wall”. This was hands down my favorite project and quite possibly the best “video” I’ve done yet. At least that's my thought! I worked hard at trying to edit a little better and get the info delivered in a more upbeat and fun manner while also keeping the time down. I know y’all have places to be, things to do and stuff to get!
As always, I’d appreciate any feedback or comments letting me know if you enjoyed the content or if I can improve on anything. Im still growing and building my channel and any feedback is more than welcome!
Thank you guys so much for watching + definitely don’t forget to subscribe to my channel so you won’t miss me I my next one!

I see the first set of test tubes are no longer available. I don't have another option that I have used myself that are "jumbo" but, I have purchased these www.amazon.com/DEPEPE-25×200m... and they are a bit smaller, but still came well packaged!

    Smoother grades of concrete available if you don't want big rocks! A quick wet-sanding could remove the plastic tub's details, though the look with the outer ring is cool. Great magnet idea!

    Love this. What holds the short screw into the wall ? Do they not lift out easily if not in a stud on drywall alone?

  • @justawoodworkher

    @justawoodworkher

    2 жыл бұрын

    They are drywall screws. I didn’t use any anchor and they’ve been fine for almost two years now. You can use drywall anchors if you want. None are in studs. I didn’t want them in a stud, since I don’t have access to the screw head to ensure I can remove it from the wall without breaking the concrete backer if I want to move them ever.

  • @justawoodworkher

    @justawoodworkher

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi! Thank you so much for the comment! I used drywall screws and pre drilled into the drywall before securing them! Making sure I did NOT hit a stud. I don’t believe the screw/concrete backer would be strong enough to get through a stud, in my opinion!

    So good ! So is the tube glued to the base as well as the magnets ? If so, How do you take them off to drain the water & clean them. I think this might have to be my next DIY. 😍

  • @justawoodworkher

    @justawoodworkher

    4 жыл бұрын

    Thank you!! One set of magnets are placed directly into the concrete base + then you use glass glue on the test tubes to places two other magnets that line up with the magnets on the concrete piece. It allows you to remove the test tubes and change out the water and then you just connect it back to the concrete piece once you’re done 🖤

    @@GangstaBooGT no, once the glass glue dries the magnet will not going anywhere. You might be referring to me saying one of the tubes has three magnets, because I wasn’t able to get the magnetic off.
