I have a 2021 RS660, and it is surprising how many sportbike riders confuse it with the RSV4. Last week I had an RSV4 owner actually think it was an RSV4. When I tell people it is the RS660, most sportbike riders have never even heard of it - they didn't realize Aprilia made a lower cc bike. It has been bullet proof so far - no issues at all with 3,500 miles. Dillan is right about having a dealer close by though. That was a major consideration when buying - having a dealer within 30 miles.

The black one looks exactly like rsv4, with a full system exhaust and bubble visor it'll be hard to distinguish between this bike and an actual rsv4

The RS 660 was my first bike. I still pull it out now and then for a chill Sunday solo ride.

I bought a rs660 a month ago. I took a 12 yrar break from riding. It's an amazing machine. I'll be in the market for a liter bike sooner than later. I would suggest this bike 100% for a beginner bike and I'll keep mine for a long time

I was going to go CBR650r to get that inline 4. But in Australia Honda doesn't sell the full power bike. Only the LAMS version so thought fuck it go for the best instead. Defiantly a treat choice. I ride this 7 days a week and have loved all 8000km so far in the last 4 months.

About the quick shifter if the oil is old the shift lever gets stuck, harder to find neutral, and is pretty clunky. In the service manual it says only shift above 4K rpm. Another thing if you have it in race mode the shifts become smoother and faster. I love the nuances tho having to perfect of a bike can get kinda boring having a platform to build is a different type of bond between man n machine.

I have it's older rival the RS250 1995, will never give it up for a 4t copy.

I'm considering selling my 1290r and switching to a Supersport for something different, but the lack of cruise control on most sport bikes is almost a deal breaker, especially for the more laid back highway trips. Didn't realize Aprilia's bikes had cruise control too, might be my next pick.

Lol. The RS660 was my beginner bike, and I am now it the market for a 200 hp liter bike. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love my RS660 and I'll probably keep it and turn it into a full track bike. It is slower than my project car though.

These guys only do highway pulls they don’t actually ride twisties or on a track where smaller displacement bikes in the right hands are weapons.

I’ve not even got my CBT and I know I want this bike! Might be wise to spend a year on a 250 first tho :-P

I have a tuano 660 and I love it but it’s not as fast as my GSXR 600 but I get alot of compliments and it’s much more comfortable to ride . I have the best of both worlds. Two bikes are better than one. Although shifting the Tuano is tough compared to my hair trigger Suzuki . I almost need a wooden shoe so I don’t get a callous.

@@Bakamatsuu well most suspensions are for 180 weight rider. And 200 is fine. Just a 160 rider will pull way harder than with a 200 rider. That’s almost 40 pounds. 140 rider even more

@@Giixxersquid same here lol. 3hrs each way to race, or 90 min N or SE to go straight. 😂 but if u practice ur technique w a smaller displacement bike, u learn the nuances better becuase they make a more noticeable difference. But def upgrade to a 1000 for highway commute. So much less stressful

@@crash5811 see I hear that all the time but I have no issues with the ride. It’s a short city ride then hopping on the highway. Fast enough to get away from the majority of cars on the road but not crazy enough that if I make a mistake I don’t flip the bike. The nearest track to me is over 6 hours away. I wish Watkins glen would let bikes ride cause then life would be great! I ride an 04 gsxr 600 no aids just me riding and it’s a blast I’m only on my second season riding.

2nd season, keep riding the 600 for a bit. Make it thru this year and get comfortable w sandy corners and riding like a dumb*ss. See if u can get a chance to swap w friends and try other bikes. When u start carrying tbe wheel out of the sweepers ull b hooked on the power. 140 w the wheel rising and the knee almost touching is awesome. And sketchy af 😂😂😂
