I just bought a 2014 hammer and it is an incredible ride. The looks are breathtaking. I did not realize how comfortable this bike is. It is so light for a 1700 cc bike. It blows my mind why there not more of these bikes on the road. The power is incredible.

I've seen hundreds of youtube reviewers doing their reviews and you're by far my favorite. Honest, down to earth, and you don't ignore any possible concern. After I watched your breakout review, I was hoping you had one for the hammer. So its funny that you kinda got stuck riding one. I've been looking at both bikes and lots of factors are going into my final decision, financial ones being the biggest. But your reviews have helped solidify my own thoughts and opinions, so I thank you.

Thank you man - I try my best to keep an open mind on each bike and to remain as faithful to the love we have towards everything on two. Financial limits play a huge role in our choices, as much as the breakout encouraged me to forget about that, the reality is that financial limits will rule all choices. Best of luck!

If you could jump on the Gunner and the Highball my life would be made. I'm torn between the Street Bob and the Highball. I watch you and Shawn all the time.

***** Yeah, you would fit fine on it... I am 5'10 and it felt great. The reason I mentioned bags and such was for those of us that just buy one bike to do all our biking on. I think it is important for those that are deciding on a bike to know that it has the legs to Commute, do the twisty stuff, and also to Tour with.

Finally got around to watching this. I went on a demo ride here in September. I was very impressed with the Hammer 8-Ball. LOVED the look. On my list of possibilities if I ever ditch the Shadow Sabre!

Another fantastic test ride review from the master! Those 8-Ball's are pretty damn cool... I think we took one of these in on trade a couple months ago, but I never took it out for a ride. Beautiful bike! Thanks for sharing.

As a Victory Hammer 8 ball owner and a fan of the Breakout, the Victory has a ton more power. Too bad you did not get a chance to unleash that power on your demo ride.

I just road one of those at the victory demo ride event near me. Its a verry nice bike for the money and I agree with everything you said in your review. Love the foot peg position and the feel, and power. I would upgrade the seat and put a small sport windscreen on to keep the wind from lifting up on my helmet so much.

I agree the look is awesome. The way they are built are great to. Nice solid motor. I'm the type of guy that I would want the bags, to cruise.. I really love to bring needed items with me when I go out... Or on a 400 miles trip..

Nice! I really like the Cross Country and have thinking about making that my bagger for a while, even a little more than a Street Glide but then the Indian came out and I was thrown into a loop as I really like the Classic. Victory's are good bikes that's why I was so disappointed to find out even with a bigger and prettier engine they are so lack luster. Of course a Cross Country is back towards the top but I'm interested in the new Rushmore Street Glide. Thanks for the fun and great review. That Victory was one good lookin bike. Ride safe, amigo.

I'm sure it has power - 111 cubic inch engine. However, I didn't feel the oomph... Not sure if it was lost due to the gear drive or the suspension dampening any feeling that could have been there

Nice Film and Review !!! But i think the whole point of this model is as a Custom or a semi-Naked. It's not meant to faired or carry bags etc. So adding them would defeat the point of this niche bike. As you can buy those already like the Cross Country etc that you show. So i'd just leave it as is and ride it on my own !!!

Great ride. I have a friend that has the 8ball and another that has the Hammer. They are great bikes. That 106 engine is really a power house with some pipes, exhaust, and tuning. My buddy looks for v-rods to get it on with and does quite well. Unlike you I did feel a little difference in the hard corners at speed with his bike and the wide tire in the back. Nothing bad but it took a little getting used to it. I almost bought a Victory Hammer before I bought my Harley. Would be happy with either ride for sure.

Most likely the new Gunnar or the Vegas 8-ball... Problem with Victory is that they do not have anything in their lineup that is NEW for under $13k.... But, if that kind of money is in your price range I say go for it or look towards a used model... Something similar to the 8ball or gunnar lineup.

He didn't tell you that it will scrape parts early. That fat rubber is no big deal. It's great if the bike would be up 4" higher so you can really carve roads.

Well, the breakout I test rode was twice the price and easily twice the bike. However, this Hammer was great - I could easily see it being versitile as a cruiser and touring bike with some mods. Honestly, I was not a huge fan of some of the Hammer styling, the handlebars were a bit goofy to me and the presence of plastics is not familiar to me as well. But, between the two bikes I would say that I could afford the hammer but loved the CVO breakout.
