    Happens all the time. I only drive 7.5-12 tonne trucks but more often than not I am getting held up by a car driver that thinks 35mph in a 60 is acceptable.

    Bro? That Semi go 0-92.5 km/h(60MPH) needs 5 seconds A stock W204 C63 can do 3.8 seconds There's still no chance that Semi truck win a proper street racing And imagine that street racer tune their cars My W204 C63 Wagon have 900WHP And go 0-100km/h in just 2.7 seconds So what do you think? Also street racing usually have corners I don't think a Semi truck can go through corners that easily. Unless you're racing with ricer.....

"My 900 Wheelhp w204 c63 needs 2.7 to 100km/h" - This is probably the most ridiculous thing i have read in a long time, including diesel scandal statements from vw. Btw a bone stock RWD C63 T-Modell (w204) needs 4.6s to 100km/h. With the limiting factor not being power but TRACTION.

    If you wish to damage the load and or load shift causing damage or harm. Also I have never, ever seem any diesel semi take off so slow other than this display. I worked for manufacturer for years and never seen that. A little over doing it, no? Lol

    they should be doing diesel electrics (like with locomotives). Constant RPM diesel engine can both be very efficient and you don't need all the pollution stuff since you can tune for low emissions without the DPF, DEF and all that. It's the spikes in power that causes all the emissions, with one RPM, that's out the window. Then you can run a relatively small battery and the diesel makes the range issue irrelevant. I don't understand why nobody's done it. They do it on locomotives and earth movers. Why not long haul trucks? It's the most elegant solution.

    Very amazing to see those big trucks accelerate so fast, it's probably going to be efficient as long as the battery lasts long and there's enough Tesla charging stations on the trips. Only downside may be safety due to how fast it gets in a few seconds.

    @@DanC8111_ He didnt say hyper he said super car. And literally just Google hill climb semi trucks or Racing semi trucks. Diesels can output insane amounts of torque when actually tuned for it. The average semi truck just doesnt need to be that fast so they aren't.

    @B Ev the top speed is 65 mph on a 5% grade, an ICE truck can only do 45 mph on a 5% grade. When on a flat highway, I’d expect this thing to do atleast 100 mph.

    It’s only real useful application would be to bring goods from a warehouse just outside a city to the inside. It will never have the range and efficiency to beat a diesel for long range transport.

    @@imamfn that range is Bob tailing. Put 36 tons behind it and add the wind drag in, it's more like 250-300 kilometers. Look at the model Y crossover.... 530 km range, really only gets 360 km. Put a 1 ton trailer behind it and it's range drops to 200km

    Curious to know the fully loaded range. Who really cares about acceleration at that rate with a semi. Could it get 300-500 miles of range in an 8-10 hour day while loaded and transversing flat and moderate hills such as the north east coast? If yes I’d say that is real progress

    @@siouxwarrior5396 yep I use to load trucks and I'd replace all the knotted/cut straps. Cause if it's illegal on a flatbed it's illegal in a freight van. They never understood.

    It's actually a pretty valid concern, especially since all of the electric's accelerating ability is present instantly. Dock workers definitely won't be doing extra work adding straps. However, drivers will probably be required to use door straps when opening the trailer to prevent whatever got knocked over from falling on the driver. Plenty of loads are loaded poorly to the point that stuff falls backwards under diesel powered trucks.

    The allowed overall weight of a semi in the US is 36tons, so it can carry a payload of around 18tons
