    @@RBFR01 A bunk bed is just as much of an imposition. For the price I expect at least a king size bed above the seating area, which I can lower if necessary, but leaves the seating area usable to the extent that you can still sit under it and which also has a Nivelier facility, so that you can align the lying surface carriagewise, if the truck is at an angle. When not needed, I can drive the bed completely under the ceiling and have there then also the ceiling light or a corresponding ambient lighting under the bed, so that the underside of the raised bed acts like a normal living room ceiling. This is at least in Europe even in small campers of the middle price class standard!

  • @thewildbruce5612

    @@RBFR01 That Busch has clearly never been inside a truck in his life! There's just not enough room for a king size bed to be lowered down from the ceiling! And if he wants a king size bed to be lowered down from the ceiling, then he can hire a carpenter to make one in his bedroom, because that's the only place something like that can be done at the moment! It's IMPOSSIBLE to fit a king sized bed inside a truck, that gets lowered down from the ceiling! There's just not enough room! 🤦‍♂️

  • @_Briegel

    @_Briegel

    @Charles Morse And where and how can I, with the bed made usable, still use the sitting area at the same time? I also have to lower the table beforehand, which means that I have to clear it completely. That's just awkward and takes too long. In addition, a passenger can then no longer use the seating area, for example, still undisturbed to read or eat something. All this could be completely bypassed with a bed attached under the ceiling, which I can lower. And the technical effort for this would not even be greater than for the folding variant in the truck. And what does that have to do with my job and your assumption that it's a lousy job?

    Nice. This is the closest I've seen to 'The Gypsy's' Truck from the old graphic novel where a new ice age forms and air travel as well as ship travel is greatly curtailed. And it addresses the number one issue for OTR truckers, food cost. Having to eat at restaurants for every meal eats up much of your wage. Being able to cook most of your meals in your truck is a great cost savings.

    @jebidiahnewkedkracker1025

    2 жыл бұрын

    Actually the stress could come more from time pressures--having to meet deadlines. MY stress was also having to pick up from places I've never been to before, and trying sometimes to find them, using old Thomas Guide maps with torn out pages; or food & coffee stains/ writing on them from other drivers, under time considerations; and finding out the place of business was not "tractor/trailer friendly" even with a cab-over tractor and a 53' trailer because it might not have had a loading dock--or the loading dock was blocked with cars, and I had to wait while the owners were tracked down and they moved them, and the person responsible for the paperwork often was busy playing solitare on the computer and I was interrupting his or her game, and how DARE I bother THEM when I may have to have that freight that I'm picking up from them at SFO airport at say 7:00 pm.....And I'm still in SAN JOSE at 5:15pm, and there are accidents with injuries reported on both the 101 and 280 freeways, and yet I have perhaps even more pickups to make at similar places, and a dispatcher wondering what is taking me so long to pick up perhaps just ONE crate that may weigh up to 500lbs without a decent FORKLIFT to load the thing** and finally I'm on the road in bumper-to-bumper traffic with a truck that is NOT an automatic that has little or no air conditioning in heat that is approaching 85+ degrees only to get just north of SFO to start freezing my ass off in fog. The good news? I was just a LOCAL driver and did not have to worry about filling out log-books, and I rarely got cut off. (One day, after not having an adequate enough supply of Red-Bull energy drink, I was going at a nice clip on northbound 280 towards San Francisco, but discovered too late around a bend that traffic ahead of me had backed up, and came to a complete standstill, prompting me to hit the airbrakes a little too hard, causing the trailer to jackknife, but not before it had cut off a rapidly approaching BMW on my left side. Fortuneately no one was hurt or killed and the driver just gave me a one finger salute.😬😂 But I often marvelled at rushing "soccer moms" trying to make a right turn inside of me while I was making a right turn too.😂😂😂😂😂 **Prompting the finding and recruitment of strapping but not so willing young men such as myself to load such a beast BY HAND onto the back of the trailer, only to discover that On THIS pickup I didn't bring a PALLET JACK with me, and so 3 or 4 guys help load THEIR pallet jack that doesn't work properly and has lots of warehouse crud blocking the proper rolling of its wheels.😂😂😂 I have a hunch more than one truck driver prior to GPS devices can relate to the type of STRESS I describe so vividly here

    Exactly what I was thinking. Spend mega bucks to have a full kitchen but gotta sleep on a crappy dinette bed? And let's not forget you can't even sit down on that toilet in the shower, there's literally no where for your right leg to go.

    Now this is the way to travel! It’s just sad to not see a third peddle on the floor but I guess this is the future of trucking. I love how the cab is bigger than the box on the truck! Must be for transporting some expensive stuff!

    What nobody who builds trucks seems to understand is that we need room with function not gimmicks and gadgets, everything that they put in the trucks will loosen up in time and start to rattle, makes it hard to sleep, need less stuff and better general functional items, example would be a better mount for a microwave versus adding something new like a stove, just my 2 cents after 26 years trucking

    My first thought was the TV on the top that folds down, seems like after a while that would loosen up and rattling break off. I have 3000 miles on my new truck and I’m already starting to hear some rattles

    About Franks comment regarding Nascar, I can totally picture this truck at a pit area or at a rock concert, it's looks great for the "high end" user. But at least in this video they have it hooked to a box trailer so I was assuming they intend it to be used over the road like maybe the stretched trucks furniture haulers use. It could be good for that but no way to get it into most shipping docks
