Why am I just now finding this channel finally a brother and sister doing videos about Tesla's...!!!!!

I have had my S for about 3 months and thanks to your video I now have a fun new toy. I love auto park. So fun. Thank you.

New Model S owner here that has yet to try the summon feature. I can see myself using it in my own garage but not sure about squeezing into a parking spot. If I can’t get in or out of the car without dinging the door, I wouldn’t trust the parked cars not doing the same. Just saying. 🤔

You would use this particular feature in public for when you're being directed in public parking and have no choice. But you do why risk it?

I agree. At work people with nice cars park at the end of the car park at least a 5 min walk to try and avoid other cars parking next to them. Would be useful to get your car out if someone has parked too close.

Use this everytime I pull in and out of my garage, with the mirrors out I have only an inch of clearence each side, love it.

That is so amazing

Overall I am excited and can't wait until cars get the A.I. feature and now I can be dropped off at the door and the car can work out the parking on its own and just text me or call me that it needs my assistance.

And in summon plus 2.0 it will pug in the car for you also

Does this work on the model 3?

So great for those who have family members in wheelchairs! A lot of people abuse the handicap spaces and we’re forced to park in tiny tight spaces that aren’t big enough for my sister’s wheelchair. I can only imagine how easy this would be for us! Being able to be dropped off at the ramp and the car meeting us in the ramp!

Yes very awesome for this and the model X is very useful for getting in and out of the wheelchair to the car because if the large door openings. Enhanced Summon will take thus to the next level and allow arrival if the car right from the ramp or curb.

If a really rustic and old car with no computers inside it can do something like this ,it would be super awesome

That car is like a street legal robot.

I just got a model S and I cannot figure out why or if I would want to use this feature. I will be happy if it just opens my garage door in time for me to drive in and get out. My garage has enough room for the doors, otherwise maybe it would be useful to get out and have the Tesla drive in.

Del Schier congrats on the S. If you have enough space in your garage it really isn't as useful, but for instances where you may have lots of bags it handy to just unload outside the garage and let the car pull itself in while you go inside.

Trying going to a parking lot and line the car up.. double press park and you can get out of the car and it will park but will it stop??

It will auto-stop if there is something there i.e. a car, a wall, a light post, etc. If nothing is there it will keep going

Curbs are lower than the sensors needs to be an obstruction at sensor height

Boston is full of tight parking and tight garages.

Just tried it with mine. Can’t get it to do this. When I double press P, nothing happens other than it stops and goes to off mode. Parallel parking works great though. How do you notice the car recognized the parking spot behind it?

1:25 its actually worse than you think....your car could do auto parking into that stall, but the car next to you would still hit your door with their door in order to get in .........the true issue is the parking lot is not well sized...they are too small...........we simply dont need autoparking feature if the stupid parking lot could make the spot bigger ...

will it work with model 3 as well?

If it doesn't as of this post it will in coming releases. Check your release notes or check under the controls of the M3 to see if summon is available.

@@BlackTesla I just got my Model 3 and your video was the one that made me try the summons. It works pretty much the same as your S. I did not order this feature but Tesla gave me a 30 day trial that started after last update. I do think its cool but not sure if I would really use it that much. Thanks for your helpful video.

@@GenCodeFPV congrats on the Model 3! At the moment it's a useful feature in certain scenarios. However, "summon plus" is coming and will allow the car to valet itself by finding parking spots autonoumously and coming to meet you when ready, which will be a much more useful feature so I definitely suggest you consider getting this feature.

Software issue music level was adjusted, but thanks for the comment.

Well you're actually incorrect on the incline for summon. If you are parked level and summon out onto an incline that's ahead, it will summon to the incline. After it climbs the incline it goes into a non-functional mode for summon. So technically it will still work on an incline but once it starts to climb the incline up to 15 feet it will stop.

Byron thanks for the comment. It's important to note that as Tesla updates it's software it adds new functionality, so as of this video my statements were accurate. However, this issue may have been addressed in a subsequent update which may be the behavior that you observed. Will wait for V9 and test again.

Ludovico Vanoli make sure you have autopark enabled in the settings menu. Settings -> Driver Assistance

Black Tesla autopark is called “beta” and is activated. No other options available. If I enter in “customize” I can only dicide if thight parking and the clearance, no other option like “continuos press”. It’s possible because we are in Europe?

Ludovico Vanoli I'm not too familiar with the software limitations internationally but it is very possible that it could be disabled for Europe like a few features are disabled for Canada and China. If you have the car in drive and after you quickly double press the park button you are not presented with the screen for autopark then it very well may be disabled. Check in with your local service center as they can confirm for sure.

Tesla 365 give it a shot it works surprisingly well, and has never hit anything at the height of the bumpers or taller and it also moves at 1mph so not a huge risk.

That part of the footage is just for demonstrating the park assist. A Tesla will do well in a real life situation.

Thanks for the comment! I think the risk is the same if not less than a Gas-based car. Gas stations need electricity so electricity is as abundant as gas if not more.

@@Modestasgailius Incorrect, they can be charged with a standard US plug - just not as fast as the quick chargers.
