If you could get TRACTION that Beetle would likely beat everything there. And man, that Land Rover took off like a shot, eh? Surprised many people I'm sure.

First time we had our i3S thought 2 motors in the rear 1 motor up frount. The i3M BMW should make.

Looks like great fun was had by all. Enjoy the burnouts and seeing that awesome 2002tii.

I've always been a fan of classic lotus cars but i have always loved the lotus Carlton it's my dream car

Lotus Sunbeam, my all time favourite car.

Great stuff. Shame we didn't see the Beetle destroy some super cars! Keep it up as always.

The beetle was by far the best car there and the defender 4x4

An electric vehicle where the engine makes a cool sound that's loud enough to hear it will probably help convert more people. Some electric motorbikes have this, I hope one day cars will too.

We went to this and saw the car and were lucky enough to see it on the runway. Didn't know about you guys at the time and didn't see you or the 90. Absolutely ridiculous bit of kit, fair play to you and your team! #HR1Clan

It's fun to watch when older people do burnouts, but silly when younger people do it, because younger people tend to skin the tires until there is nothing left... When you drive rear-wheel-driven car, the test is to put so much torque that the front goes airborne... With petrol powered '73 Beetle I was able to climb up a tree without pressing gas pedal at all... I noticed the same as in other videos, that when shifting from first to second and second to third, there is slight slipping. It's quite obvious as normally it's not required to shift to fourth, so with third gear, there is no slipping anymore... I had a newer car that did slip with three lowest gears, but then went smoothly after that.

For a gasoline car to go faster they seem to need to burn gasoline very quickly to do so. For an electric vehicle to accelerate more quickly is there a big difference in how quickly it uses up the batteries or is the difference not as big as a gasoline engine?

My very quick gogoro 2 e-scooter they programmed the acceleration so it doesn't burn rubber but accelerates as quickly as possible. I prefer it over something set to burn your tires away. Is it possible to program your tesla powered car to accelerate as quickly as possible without burning rubber? Also ever thought of converting your beetle to AWD so it can get up to speed faster?

@@ElectricClassicCars So if you turn it on the car will accelerate much faster? Me personally I'm more impressed by a car the accelerates quicker. I guess whatever will help win people over. Definitely having a cooler electric motor sound would help.

The runs weren't timed unfortunately. Fastest I've got in the Beetle is 10.4 and I think the Landy is high 11s. 😁👍

I just don’t get the attraction of burning rubber. Seems puerile to me. Kind of screws your green credentials too.

This electric "supercars" spinning tyres, smoking like hell without a sound is disturbing. First time I could hear the sound of the tyres rubbing on the asphalt, normally the sound of the engine is so much louder. Next time when you make a drag-race show your opponent. For me it´s interesting to see how much faster you were. Nice thing with the prices from the auction cars.

Again, what's with you brits not wearing sunglasses? I'd rather stick them on my head than squint all the time

Hey mate burning rubber is an silly American thing you should have just blown the doors off those overpriced super cars.

It's not very smart to create an awesome electric vehicle that doesn't have a gas guzzling, polluting petrol engine, then spoil it all by deliberately burning tyres and creating stinking toxic smoke! I can't understand the mindless fascination with burnouts. It's actually illegal under air pollution laws in most countries!

Mclaren 720 looks like 💩, I'll take the bug 🐛.
