On the return trip we see how the Tesla Supercharger network stacks up. Lets get into the trip. While underway I encounter a Beaver and things get fun! We encounter something we never thought would impact us, too much charge? Find out what happens when we try and outsmart the Tesla navigation.
Can Electrify America be a viable alternative to Tesla's supercharger network? I aim to find out on this epic 1,000 mile journey. Come along as I drive straight through the night from Cincinnati Ohio to Orlando Florida. You'll experience the adventure first hand to see reliability, charge times, and costs.
Electrify America is working to create a national network of electric car charging stations. With this network, they hope to challenge Tesla's dominant position in the electric car market. In this video, we explore how Electrify America's network could compete with Tesla's Superchargers, and see how likely it is that they will be successful.
The trip down will be broken into 2 parts. Trip south will be only using Electrify America.
The Return trip we will use Tesla's supercharger network so we can put the two head to head and find out who wins.
The trip is in a 2022 Tesla Model Y Performance. Equipped with 19" Tesla Gemini wheels with aero caps.

Good morning Paul . . . Ken Larsen here. Your Uncle Bob and I have been friends since the 70's when we were police officers in Tampa. We still golf together and occasionally are joined by your Dad. I've been thinking about the Tesla Model S and really enjoy your videos and thorough analysis. Very helpful. Would you guess that the experience with a Model S would be similar to the Model Y?

Hey Ken! So great to hear from you. The model s is super nice. It does have more moving parts such as air suspension, ac seats, self opening/closing doors, and presenting door handles to mention a few. Those additional items are mechanical and thus could wear out/break sooner. That said, I have a number of friends who own the model S, and they all love them. Many are approaching 100k. Repairs have been minimal, and they still love the car. With no oil, spark plugs, etc. The overall costs are less and thus over the life I believe you'll be happy. With the recent price cuts, it's a no-brainer. I'm getting ready to roll over 50k in the model y, and I love it. It's been rock solid reliable and 100% smiles. Ps. Have uncle Robert give you my cell. Happy to chat more and hear what you're thinking about. Heard a lot about you, and it would be great to speak.

Glad you had safe travels! Looking forward to the breakdown comparison video. We stopped to charge in Florence last year while down that way for spring break. Very nice area and you can’t beat those v3 super chargers 😁
