I don't plan on driving anytime soon but I have always wondered what the experience of this kind of car is, so this was a great way for me to see a breakdown of main points about it!! Also, some of your comments were so cute lol!! Alignment for free at your house? Did not know that was a thing ? It’s only 100$ for alignment at my local shop but I also check tires at 6750mi as recommended

Sorry but every car should be in alignment when you by it. Now I don't know why Tesla wouldn't be but every car I've owned was in alignment and only if a curb jumped up and bit the front tires did I have to worry about it. And if you say it's because it so heavy it will settle and that why, all car are heavy and settle to a point and that is factored in. Just courious, the 12 year old Honda, how many times has that had to go in it for an alignment?

My dad just picked up a model Y he loves it!

Hello Maya, please check your settings for interior ambient lighting. I just checked my 2023 Model Y, and I put my car in drive and the lights in the door pockets are on, and above the foot wells. I have a feeling your setting must be off. I do feel like I’m still in a cave at night with the dark window tinting in the rear. I owned a 2018 Model 3 for 5 1/2 years. I only needed tire alignment once because of new tires, a precaution. My alignment was just a little bit off in the front. For you to have had your alignment off as much in your car. Tells me someone really bumped a street curb hard while parking, or bumped hard into one of those cement ‘curb stops’ in a parking space. Doing this can really throw out your alignment, and cause what you experienced wearing out one tire so badly. Not saying you, or your husband are bad drivers, this can happen to anyone. Just remember if you bump a curb super hard, have your alignment checked. This can save you tire issues in the future. This is for any car, nut just a tesla. I like your video content. I’ll subscribe to your channel. 👍🏻

@@zippyzee they all have that ability, except the very basic Model Y, and Model 3. Tesla doesn’t activate it, so it doesn’t have the settings on the screen menu, the lights are there though. That is really cheap of tesla to do that. I’m not sure what Model Y, Maya has. Even my 2018 Model 3 has that function. But again I had the long range rear wheel drive model, so the footlight function was operational.

@@andrerodriguez7603 I have a 3 and they all have interior lighting but not ambient lighting. The Model Y also features ambient lighting, but with a different design compared to the Model 3+. In the Model Y, the ambient lighting strip spans only from the driver’s side to the passenger’s side on the dash panel. . only the 2024 models have ambient lighting. Hi, I too had a Honda that wouldn't die. I'm not sure what your tire warranty covers for you but I found the easiest and most logical option is to Buy a tire plug kit for the nail situation. The tire shops will always tell you that the nail "is too close to the edge and the tire has to be replaced". This is absolute crap. Now I take the nails out myself and use the plugs. No more ridiculous, unnecessary tire replacements and wasted time to the tire shop. The repair is so easy too.

About how many miles do you get out of a set of tires? How often do you need to rotate? When rotating, do you just swap the front and rear wheels on the same side, or diagonally? Thanks.

@@proph9916 nah, you can't natively. You'd have to buy some aftermarket screens for apple car play. But for me, I don't need AppleCar Play. The Tesla UI is wayyyy better.

Hi Maya, FYI, the likely reason you are having premature wear issues with your tires is due to the wheels being knocked out of alignment. The curb rash on your wheels shows you are hitting the curbs when parking. Try getting a good alignment correction at the dealer, then do your best to not hit the curbs. Good luck!

The worst part about the tire is, don't make the same mistake as I did, but my car is not tesla. My dad's car is Ford explorer. 1st, I reverse the car, so that I want to go out. After I reverse the car, I stop and turn the wheel, before drive and the steering wheel is damage and needs to be fix. But a day later, it's fixed. My dad told me, before stop the car from reversing, turn the wheel, so that the steering wheel is not damage. It's my 1st time that I drive a car. I follow my dad's step about reverse the car, before stop, turn the wheel. After I turn the wheel, stop and then drive and it work.

I’m curious how the new 2024 compares to this was changed made to make it better?

I like this video for its honesty it didn’t really deter me from buying

MAYA - a USB Dehumidifier works wonders. or use DAMP RID packs in your car when you park it overnight. some people , run the HVAC for a few minutes before parking it in Garage.

I love Tesla. The car is so spacious and comfy. Charging is easy too. I don't drive much.

Dang! I was planning to buy this car this week but now I’m having second thoughts. BMW is so much more but so many of the issues discussed here aren’t the problem with bimmers - tires , defogging, dark inside, seats leather discoloration, cannot connect to apps etc

Love my model Y. Had for 1 yr already, no issues. Added lots of accessories 😅

I want to buy in Canada but I don’t own home so problem is I can’t charge at home so I think it will be problem so I am confused

You can also vent the door through the app before getting to your car

You can buy aftermarket extensions for the door handles so you won't have to do the thumb thing

As a 3 and a half year Model 3 owner, I agree with all of the pros, and don’t care about the cons , as a 10 year Tesla follower ( fanboy?) I knew what I was signing on the dotted line for … And , the ambient lighting con, Tesla has that on the new Model 3, Cybertruck, coming to to future Model S and X, and the same new updates for the new Model 3 will be coming soon on the new Model Y… 👍🏾✌🏽( and don’t forget, any “ cons” can really be taken care of with Tesla aftermarket products, there are a million of them … ) Congratulations on your two year Tesla anniversary!

For the price point the fact that it has the easy entry/memory seats and mirrors(for more than 2 people)/auto dimming mirrors, auto heat seats, auto high beams, adaptive cruise control and lane guidance, and optional access to full self driving… I literally don’t know another car that can do that for a price similar

MAYA - BTY the NEW model 3 has Starbucks coffee shelfs on the Tail Lights when the REAR trunk is open.

Don’t need to every other if it’s a v3+ supercharger (thin cable)

Defogging is actually a breeze. You just press the command and say "enable defogger" it works for me all the time.

How do they deliver a car without an alignment done? I want to want one of these but the little things like that make me keep waiting for something from VW, Kia, or Nissan I want instead

On FSD , if you get a new Tesla than yes you would definitely have to buy the FSD again as it stays with the car and not the account. That is why I would never buy FSD unless it stays with the account and not the car. That is just BS in my opinion. I love my refreshed M3 LR !! First EV , puts a smile on my face every time I get in it

There’s no spare ): thankfully it’s never gone completely flat so I could take it to the tire shop! If they can patch the hole then it’s free, but if not then I would have to buy a new tire. Thankfully I got my tires insured so it’s like $49!

Does anyone know if the Tesla Model Y is actually suitable for someone who is 5'1 tall?

Thank you for the honest review. I also live in Los Angeles and see Model Y's everywhere. I almost purchased one in 2022 but instead opted for a Ford Mach-e. My issue with the '22 Tesla's was the suspension on LA Freeways. It was awful. I wish I had things like dog mode, sentry mode, and the images of cars around me on the center screen.

I ended up getting the model 3. I love mine, but I wish I got the model Y for the room.

In Houston TX and have saved over $800 in gasoline cost with an average of15 miles per day of driving over past year and only home charging!!!! If I was an average American driver averaging 30-60 miles per day, do the math on savings. Love having a car that is paying me back rather than just being a money pit 24/7!!!

MAYA - FALSE , all Tesla models have FULL UV/IR tint on the Roof . the Glass Roof is FULLY UV tinted. you can UPGRADE the tint to DARKER tint/ Polarized . ALL the Tesla have FULL LEGAL tinted REAR Windows , can also be Upgraded. some Folks add FULL Legal tint on Front Windshield & Front SIDE windows.

I would highly recommend the ceramic tinting if you are going to keep the car long term. Though pricy, it pays for itself long term, in the heat rejection that would save the car power for ac running on hot days, which would increase your range during those months. And it's just nice not having to feel the heat from any window in the car burning your skin on hot days. Haven't even mentioned that it a plus the car would no longer be a fish bowl and you get some privacy as well. Ever since I got my m3 tinted, I threw away my sun shade because there is no longer use for it.

Why do all Teslas have Curb Rash?

I can't believe one pedal driving is not one of your pros. in number to bumper to bumper traffic one pedal and autopilot takes a lot of stress off. No more having your foot going left and right to prepare to stop or go, now you just have your foot on one pedal and that it.

This is true!! At first it felt like a golf cart and I got motion sickness even though I was driving 😅 I’m used to it now though and it’s nice to not have to wear down the brakes

MAYA - looks like YOU are wanting UPGRADES found in the NEW TESLA model 3 thats now selling. unfortunately , the NEW model Y wont be in North America until 2026. but , IF you Really like the Y , then save up for it , then get it when it Releases.

Defroster is a safety matter, elon needs to fix it asap

MY TIPS - Change your driver profile to "CHILL," and you won't have issues with abnormal tire wear. - Rent the Tesla you're considering purchasing for at least a week to get a proper test drive. - Don't go to a supercharger station in a sketchy location, as you're stuck if connected.

MAYA - the LATEST Tesla software UPDATE now shows how many cars PARKED at Supercharger ++ how many CARS enroute to YOUR Supercharger. BEST use is ONLY Supercharge to 60% then go to NEXT one. you can DEEP charge , at any LEVEL 2 while you shop, sometimes for FREE.

My CAD$35k Mazda has brake assist and lane keep assist. i could barely trust brake assist, let alone full self driving....so I wouldn't wanna pay extra for it LOL - maybe if cars were on rails, and all the dangerous idiots were removed from the roads, but not otherwise

Tesla model Y is the only car ive owned that i enjoy driving

Isn't the FSD linked to the car? So if you get a new one you have to buy it again? I feel like if you paid for FSD at this point, you're never going to get your money's worth because most likely it will require better hardware to function than is in the older models (or even current models). The nails in the tire are probably just bad luck. Never heard of a certain type of vehicle getting more nails in their tire than others. If you have a V3 supercharger, you don't have to worry about sharing power with other Tesla's. They each go up to 250kw. Nice review :) I'm waiting for the Juniper myself, so it'll come with interior lighting and better suspension.

Problem is you are stuck to that car unless you don’t want to lose crazy much in the first 3 years.. resale is awful. Auctions prices are low $20ks sellers asking $40k.. many sellers benefiting the tax incentive yet still insisting to sell another incentive in the pocket..

Yea those stock and tire setups are designed to break easy😂. Thats why I opted for the overland rim and tire pack at t-sport-line. Haven’t had a single tire issue in 10k miles.

Ummm you said it was "cold" (in CA?) and the windshield fogged up... I'm not liking the thought of how the defrosting will perform in Minnesota when it's 30 below with wind blown snow. But thanks for sharing!

Maya - FSD v12 is MUCH improved ,. it DRIVES like a Human would.

MAYA - FALSE , only older Superchargers , share power. NEWER V3 & V4 Superchargers DO NOT share any Power.

my review is that it sucks, i will sell mines the first chance i get LOL. Maybe for the refresh Y or Porsche Macan. Strangely as much as I dislike it, i would never go back to ICE
