Thanks Ben! We live in SLC, UT and got our long range dual motor Y in January. It's been amazing. Only hiccup was when we picked it up there was paint damage and a number of rock chips. The Tesla employee pointed them out and made an appt right away for Tesla to fix it all. We had it for a week (in which time a huge crack along the front windshield popped up). They fixed everything, but had the car for six weeks. They ended up replacing body panels. We got a loaner that at first we were a little bummed by, but in retrospect we got to learn so much about the car on a loaner and are actually really happy it happened that way. Need to pay for PPF for sure. Thanks for the video!

I’m not shy on the accelerator and have 30k miles on our Model Y LR, but still on the factory tires. Seems unusual to be on 3rd set at 30k miles.

I 100% agree with you on the screen issue. In fact What has kept me from getting one is the absence of a dedicated instrument cluster.

I acknowledge the software update dilemma, but it's way better than the garbage software in many other cars

I really want to get a Model X or Y to replace our Forester but until they make all the touch screens accessible for a blind user I cannot get one. My wife is my copilot and needs to be responsible for her own comfort. Her being blind makes her completely dependent on me in the car and that is unacceptable.

Totally agreed with you ! Ben needs a screen in front to off load some info and i want Apple car play for my music. The regen is a huge safety feature most over look, when someone stomp on the brakes, Y can slow down so fast that it save a lot of hitting from behind. Some operating features still needed to be physical buttons for quick access. LFP batteries work well for longer life span and charge and discharge top to bottom with long cycle life. even better with sodium batteries coming. Ellon should modulate the batteries so tech can isolate and replace those defective batteries without replacing entire bank.

Good insights!! Got our Model Y back in Jan and have nearly 10k on it already - about to take our first road trip next week, which will add another 3,000 when all is done! :) By far has already been the best car I've ever owned. Excited to see where this progress with take us! Side note: Thanks for all your great vids through the years, Ben. I've been a silent watcher until this commment! ☺ Always find your channel super valuable!!

You guys must have a heavy foot...3rd set of tires sounds very excessive. I have 30k miles on my model 3 and the tires still look fairly new (probably stil got 75% thread left).

I rented the Model Y for a few days, I was really impressed with the car, acceleration, and speed, it's really quick and fast. and interestingly I wouldn't drive it over 70mph on the freeway, I don't know why but it was not on purpose, but, the car feels really heavy and stiff, wish there would be an option to choose for Air Equipped suspension, then the ride would be more enjoyable specifically in California's freeways :)

6 years after I bought my model X. Never been to a service center 75,000 miles with only maintenance tires. I usually buy a new business car every 2-3 years, usually, Porsche, BMW or MB. Nothing out there interests me usually after buying a new car already thinking of the next but nothing out there. Plus spoiled by low maintenance of Tesla. Use to my yearly oil changes and checkups with gas cars. I enjoy charging at home saving $400/month on gas and home electricity. I can not control healthcare costs but can control energy costs. I know own 4 Teslas and a classic Panamera 4S. Rarely drive the Porsche but always owned Porsches my whole life especially 911’s. Maybe when the first electric 911 arrives I will sell the Panamera .

Yikes! Amazing that you can get the same vehicle with much better build quality for $20K less. Picked up one 2 weeks ago for $41.5K.

I love your videos. My wife really wants the Cybertruck because of its odd funkiness. I'm thinking she'd be happier with the Model Y. I told her to wait and test drive both. She loves my Model 3 but the practicality of the Y makes it the better choice in my mind. We shall see. Thanks for the continued info and entertainment.

Jenny is 100% right about the airflow issue. The design is too sleek for its own good. Form needs to follow function, not the other way around. It’s the one thing that my wife complains most about, and it also annoys me. In general my main complaint about my Model Y is over-engineering. I get the strong impression that Tesla engineers are trying to outdo one another rather than thinking about the typical end user.
