I bought the base X in red for 2 reasons mainly…..$7500 tax break and I was able to transfer FREE SUPERCHARGING from my 2016 P100D to the new Model X. That was a game changer for me. I have a Performance Model 3 already and the Model Y is just too similar, hence the X was the way to go for me.

Really makes the S/X a much better value and much closer to how much I felt they were worth. I know people were buying them and the market sets the price, but for me they were overpriced for what you got. It was just silly from a financial perspective even considering one when they were double and half a Y for how little you got over the Y. At this price they're very much compelling if you got the cash and are in the market.

While I do like the luxurious features of the X compared to the Y there seems to be more aftermarket item support for the Y such as air suspension, powered sunshade, driver led display with carplay and android auto, rear passenger display etc. Would love to see this comparison in the future when Tesla releases the Project Juniper refreshed Model Y. Oh and one more important thing is I can add a roof rack to the Y unlike the X.

Just remember that every aftermarket item you put on the Y to make it more like the X, if it causes an issue with the cars systems, then Tesla won't cover the repair of the Tesla system. If my recollection is correct, it all began with Kyle and some other young motoring enthusiasts showing off how their cars (mostly gas powered) could drive fast around tracks -- including some driving and/or modifications that were outside the range specified by the manufacturers. Then Kyle and his friends discovered that stock EVs could do some things that very few ICE cars can do even with mods, and the channel gradually became EV focused. Then EV sales and EV interest blew up worldwide, and so did OOS. Kyle's enthusiasm, and his nerdy knack for numbers filled a niche very nicely.

Always enjoy your videos. The Model X always has intrigued me and has potential to be a great family car… Except for the Musk touches here and there: 1). The dash has an awkward layout, losing the Danish ambience of the Models Y and 3. I don’t like asymmetrical displays that add to the distractions a driver faces while driving. With the Yoke steering wheel and the horn placement and omission of the most basic controls … could grandmother or a visiting cousin borrow the car and drive it? 2). Then there are the gull wing doors in the rear - why add a source of very expensive hardware that certainly will fail in 5 to 10 years… I have lived in very rainy climates where a slight breeze will drench through the gaping openings a poor mother loading a baby in a child seat… and 3). that glass, all that Jetson mobile glass so vulnerable to rock chips. As a party pooper I would like to remind you out there that a car, no matter what the spaceship technology, is a tool to get us from point A to point B. When advanced technology prone to failures and excessive nannying by a computer gets in the way of a pure driving experience the driving tool becomes dated and irrelevant soon.

The non-automatic fronk is a major fail on this class of vehicle. And one more thing, eliminate the falcon doors and lower the price by $10K. I would buy it then. Come on Elon, fix this ASAP.

Why does Tesla insist on putting those heavy 21" wheels on the Model Y Performance?! You may not need the faster Model X, but then again you really don't need a to buy a Tesla. It's not about what we need, it's about what we want. :) You'd think by now that the Model S and X would have an auto Frunk, considering how expensive they are. So the new Model X's still have the red/orange UV roof glass? And thought Tesla put the horn back in the center airbag now? And if only Tesla would come up with a small spare tire for all their cars, as an option. Which would be great for road trips in areas with spotty cell coverage.

Hard to believe someone who can afford an $80-$90K vehicle can qualify for a federal tax credit with an income limit of $300K for couples and $150K for single tax filers. Although if you own your own business and/or have a lot of deductions, maybe...

Is anyone considering the effect on current owners and the resale value of their vehicles? A lot of people who buy cars to keep them for the longer term, 3-5 years, must be suffering financially. The financial games that Tesla play seems to screw current owners.

Going from a model Y to an X is like going from a Chevy to a Cadillac in terms of interior quality. The seats in the Y are just garbage and no ventilated seats, no 2nd or third screen, no swivel screen in the Y either. Tesla needs a version of the X without the fancy back doors and have a true base model X and that would probably knock $10,000 or so off the X.

But, having said that, there is a lot that is perfect with it. Hey Tesla, I’m work in aerospace and I am available for consult on how you FIX your vehicles.
