Tesla Model 3 - Part1 - Rattles Squeaks and Creaking Noises - DIY Fix
In this video I go over the noises (rattle, squeaks, creaks, wind) for the Tesla model 3 and come up with some diy fixes. Don't forget to checkout the part two of the video as well.

Very informative video, this is the reason why I cannot justify buying this car at the moment, just way way too many issues. And yes as you clearly pointed out at the beginning of the video, anything negative about Tesla, and a army of fanboys will speak out against you, even when in cases like this, you are genuinely showing people true issues and how to address them. Keep up the good work

research about tesla quality control with their front windshield. How wavy and warped it gets. not to mention HOW EASILY it cracks because tesla decided to make it thin
Excellent. One rattle I found is the plastic covers on the hood hinge. Close the hood and from the top there is play in those plastic covers. I took the plastic covers off (kind of tricky) then I added soft tape on the inside. Thanks for the video, I'm subscribing. Please followup on with any updates at any time!

Thanks Peter, I had the same hinge plastic cover come loose as well. I will address that in the next video.
You are awesome! Please do more of these DIY videos.
When you use silicone I recommend you use non corrosive RTV which doesn’t have acid in it.

That is a good point. Even though I hate the stickiness of rtv, it is a better material.
Thanks for this! I’m going to try and tackle these on my car.

pro tip: you can watch movies on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching loads of movies lately.

@Wallace Gibson Definitely, have been using Flixzone for since november myself :D
I love acceleration and power but Tesla should focus on reducing rattling and annoying noises first before FSD. My 2023 Model Y LR has rattling and annoying noises front dashboard and rear seat area. I took mine to Tesla service twice and left it there total 10 days but TSLA service tech can not fix it. I regret so much that I bought Model Y and my friends are saying same thing 😢 I wish Tesla Service Tech can fix it.
You are a brave man. Cue the Tesla fanboy warriors. 👊😠👎
Awesome tips. Thanks so much!
That sound on 6:24 is probably the sound I have. It sounds a little different from inside the car, almost like coins rattling or something. I hear when the road is bad and sometimes in speeds like 30-50 km/t. I took it to the CS, but of course we didnt hear the sound one single time during our test drive. The sound comes and goes
please make more of these
I picked up my model 3 yesterday coming from a diesel car. Diesel car at 120km/h 70dB no rattles. Tesla model 3 120km/h 69.3dB and tons of rattles. I feel cheated

Unpopular opinion but true. Took me a while to narrow down and fix all those rattles, now it feels solid finally.
Good news is that both our 2022 M3P and MYP don’t have these issues. Build 7:10 quality is improving for sure.
speaker behind rear passenger side seat. that's my only rattle.
Thanks for this!! Not to sure if anyone else has seen this, but on the center console where the phone sites, that door now squeaks on me. Mostly it happens on bumping roads or uneven driving surfaces. However I can actually move it to make the squeaking noise. I tries tightening some of the bolts below it, but didn't help. Anyone else seen this?

Had this same issue from day one. I put some silicone spray on the hinges of the phone tray and that solved it. Easy fix.
I have some noise when I drive over bumpy surfaces. But, I still really really enjoy driving my Tesla. Great car overall.
Any real fix to this?
Hello, what causes the issue at 4:55? Is it really the windshield washer fluid? How did you fix it? Thanks.

Can any of the frunk rattles actually be heard from inside the car?? Seems unlikely.
@JJCentral-DIY

Very good point, none of the body clip sounds can be heard from the inside, but the broken frunk spacer/clip was rattling everytime you got in and out of the car, due to the car rocking back and forth when some one got in. I forgot to mention the plastic at the hood hinge rattled with wind. Then I had to glue that area as well.
What year model is this?
How did you fix the rattle from the frunk liner clips?

I put 100% silicon on the base clip and that arrested the movement. The frunk side of the clip sits loose and is just fine.

Biggest frustration to buy a Tesla
Hello! Any ideas on a noise from the rear passenger area that sounds like a pair of glasses clinking/keys jingling together? Can’t quite pinpoint it, sounds almost from the seat belt area and only during road imperfections
@JJCentral-DIY

You can easily remove your rear bottom seat and see if anything is rattling around inside there. Don't open the high voltage connections. On the outside, check under the car in the rear passenger area to see if any loose bolts on the suspension area.

Does it do it with rear passengers or with seat back so down?

Same issue. 22 model 3 delivered in February. I checked under the seat and under the car to see if there was anything loose. Nothing. I’ve taken apart the trunk as well. Anywhere else I can check?

What about road noise while driving on the highway ?
@JJCentral-DIY

The car is generally louder on the road noise, but not that bad. Installing the door, trunk and frunk seals kit helped reduce the road noise. I may install the hood and trunk padding just to see if it makes any difference. Ideally the all glass roof needs some sound isolation as well.
in 5 years they might fix rattles :P
Ass many issues it has its still a great car. But I agree there is stuff that annoy you. But with the way this President is jacking with gas the savings is huge
Really? If I were you I’d sell the Tesla and buy a bus pass. Good luck with your journey.

Lol, I wouldn't trade it in for any car because the rest of the experience in owning and driving this car is unbelievable. A little rattle, I can handle.

@@G0ddEityawesome I have owned over 30 cars and have driven multiple customer cars as well. I can tell you that there is not a car I enjoyed more than this Tesla. It is like having the performance of a McLaren for a fraction of it's cost. If you are techie, it's amazing how advanced the tech side is compared to other legacy automakers. As a daily driver it's wonderful. As a long trip vehicle, I would take something more relaxing.
