    +joebonsaipoland I love it hey, the only thing I wish they did - was have a similar front to the Model X and now the new, updated Model S. I think that little bit of detail really goes a long way. I wouldn't be surprised actually if they do this by production time.

    Zack Powers,Jr. I assume it has a UV protective coating on it though. There are lots of UV films that allow light in without letting most UV rays in. A lot of cars come standard with this film.

    UV is only half the problem. Direct heat from the sun shining down on the back seat passengers is the other half of the problem. Only a sunshade will help that problem.

    Big sun roof is great, but it will be a problem when it is sunny. Especially in south regions. Some shades or dynamically tinted glass would be very nice. Go, Tesla, go!

    The updated Model S looks so good

  • @RyoHazuki224
    @RyoHazuki2248 жыл бұрын

    I love this car, with just two exceptions: I kinda don't like how the front is "grill-less", I like the glossy black nose-cone of the Model S and I had hoped that design theme would carry over across all their models. Model X though was definitely a departure, but I didn't mind that. This though, the Model 3's nose looks like a frowny lip, or an underbite. Kind of an odd shape that would take me a while to get used to. The other thing I'm not crazy about is the lack of mechanical inputs (aside from what looks to be a shift stalk and the signal stalks on the steering wheel). While yeah it allows for most everything in the car to be controlled via touch-screen and can be upgraded and changed via software, I would at least expect just a few basic buttons and controls on the steering wheel itself, simple things like radio controls, volume, cruise control, etc. Yeah sure one could make a system that responds to voice, but man do I ever hate voice controls in cars! Even if they work flawlessly, I don't want to be talking to my car. It's much, much faster and convenient to press a button where my hand already is to do what I want to do. And to reach over to press a touch-display any time I need to do something is annoying too, especially because I would have to take my eyes off the road. Ok sure, with auto-pilot features that'll be less of a concern, but what about times when you're not using auto-pilot? There still won't be any physical controls available to you. Sorry, thought of a third exception: Lack of gauges in front of the driver, this is another thing that bothers me. I much prefer to flick my eyes down right in front of me to look at my gauges rather than to look to the right of the wheel. That's not natural in my opinion. Sounds like I am griping too much, but those are indeed very valid concerns, and I hope that more people express similar concerns and hopefully we'll see some of that addressed for the final production model.

    Looks like they centralized the LCD screen so that costs to manufacture for overseas right hand drive markets would be reduced.

    The screen should be able to rotate vertically or horizontally to ones preference. Having a front grill or just a smooth "nose cone" should be a option.

    Big Bub you should be able to remove the screen and clip it to the back seat, when dozing on a long drive and you want to chill a bit.

    Since no driver side instrumentation, It's a deal-breaker for me if no HUD. Too much distraction having to divert your vision towards the center display. I tried conventional cars that center mount their instrument panel - hate it! You have to constantly divert your eyes off the road. Design wise it's a beautiful car, but not perfect.

    Hi, any ideas on the UK (rhd) version of the LCD panel, regarding the speed display, and the placement of the other screen icons?

    I love the front end I think it looks amazing. Especially in red :) I like the battery slow-mo I also noted the 8 compartments as opposed to what I saw in a Tesla 85kw tear down video. I read that increasing the 18650 cells by 10% ads 33% more storage capacity making it possible to get a larger kwh in a smaller lighter space. I would like to know how big of a pack they can actually fit in those 8 compartments. Maximum. Thanks for posting.

    +Trevor Page I'll look forward to watching. I have done some comparisons, nothing technical just looking at volume and available space comparing it to the volume used for the 18650, I have my own predictions lets say about the capacity overall for the car using the 20700 cells. I figure between 74 and 80kWh would be the Max the car can carry with that format. I'll keep an eye out this weekend. Thanks. Very informative video.

    All this thing needs is a heads up display. It's not safe to have to continuously take your eyes off the road to look at that huge display for simple things like the speed limit. Hopefully that's something they do. & hopefully they give it the same P90 & 100D battery options.
