    My 2018 Model 3 had adhesive behind the factory reflectors which were impossible to pry off, making your directions not useful for me. I ended up finding the video "Installation of knight rider turn signal indicators" from RPM Tesla and I drilled mine out per their instructions. Notwithstanding, glad I found this video cuz it gave me the confidence to pursue this project in the first place.

    3:54 Solution: Cut 18 inches from the end of the top wire. Connect cut wire to bottom light connector. Now you have a wire long enough to feed from the bottom. Use wire hanger to help feed wire from bottom hole to top hole if necessary. Get a new wire connector to rejoin the cut pieces.

Not that I can use them anyway, illegal to replace the reflectors and add more lights over here. 🙁 But definitely nice for those that can use this.

    I heard in some states you can get a ticket for the lights staying on all the time when you have your lights on at night because then they are considered fog lights and if there is no fog they have to remain off.

These are just a **little** too cheesy for me, and I wouldn't have known if you didn't try them out and also discover that they were incorrectly spec'd for the US. What happens if you plug in the turn signal but leave the brake plug unplugged? Will it stay lit when your low beams are on? Or will it only work when you use the turn signal? I think I would prefer not to have it work when I’m braking due to regen brake activating so often that it’ll annoy the drivers behind me.

  • @TeslaDIY

    @TeslaDIY

    3 жыл бұрын

    Nope, because the oem tail light shares the same light for turn and brake, so power is feeding the brake light, turn signal only trigger it to blink. If no power to “brake”, the light won’t come on at all. If you don’t want the light to blink when you brake, simply plug in both sets of wire, then these reflectors will work as turn signal only
