As others have pointed out, you're on the old Auto Park. The new version highlights several spots ahead of and behind you, on both sides of the aisle; then you click on the one you want, come to a halt, and click the blue "Activate" button; no requirement to shift into reverse anymore. I wonder why you have the old version? Perhaps because your Tesla has the USS, and these haven't been integrated into the Auto Park system yet?

No exactly, division data. It has pull into a spot is enough. There is only 3 feet of no sight room and it doesn’t need that when pulling in at low speeds. It typically be because it’s running off the old sub street that the old park is running off of however it is end to end on the version 12 NN

Just on the safety issue because I believe it is so important. They have data now that the free safety features on a Tesla make you safer than with no assistance and with FSD you are already 3-5 times safer than with none of those features. Tesla's are the safest cars ever by a long way. Really enjoying the vids. I really like the perspective of a non die-hard tesla fan.

I absolutely feel safer with FSD. It's the difference between having just me, with my uni-directional cam coverage, watching vs me and 360-FSD. It sees everything and I correct the mistakes in judgement it makes. It's a more effective team than either alone. Where I appreciate it most is in heavy highway traffic, with people trying to drive into my car from all directions, especially when I need to lane-change. I can't watch everything at once but the car does and it sometimes sees something I don't. Granted, that part you get just from Enhanced Autopilot.

A lot of people have things to say negative about FSD. I’ve been using it for a long time now and V12 is the best. It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty close and this is only the first public version… It’s just gonna get better and make the right decisions, which seems to be an issue, and also going fast enough on city streets when it’s supposed to. Those seem to be the two issues I have with it and those are things that are probably easily fixed in the next version. It’s close to perfect.

The real value of FSD is when it becomes unsupervised. If you believe it to be around the corner, and you are going to keep the car for a while, it's probably worth it.

Your car has an old parking stack. Newer cars without uss has greater parking capability. Still it parks well.

As has already been mentioned,, the autopark is a bit slow and clumsy on times! I drive Uber and Lyft, so I often clock up about 200 miles a day - I don't use FSD with a passenger on board, but I do play with it driving to and from drop-offs. Here's a few things you might want to look into: * I tend to push the indicator stalk just a touch for the indicators, but during FSD, this actually cancels the FSD! Instead, push the indicator stalk all the way and the FSD will take it as a command and carry it out! This is the opposite of what I would have expected, but it works if you are aware of it. * On the same theme, changing lanes with a full push of the indicator stalk will work, but don't expect it to be instant even though there is space for it. I had to 'wrench' the wheel to force a lane change into an open space today, while approaching an intersection with traffic piling up and I needed to be in that lane 1/2 a mile up the road - FSD doesn't 'read' the road ahead. * FSD will follow the instructions from the map, rather than the markings on the road. Coming East from Orlando, approaching exit 55 on the I-4, the car indicated to exit, but stayed in the right lane well past the deceleration lane and wanted to turn exactly on the off ramp, but at the same time slowing for the turn. (Not sure if that makes sense?) * FSD is totally confused by flashing red or amber traffic lights, it doesn't know whether to stop or not. Even worse, it totally ignores any traffic lights that are 'out' completely (4-way stop). * FSD doesn't react to warnings of a speed limit ahead, only to the speed limits themselves. Here in Florida they have these toll roads, and the speed limit through the older toll booths is 25mph, with speeding fines doubled if you get caught. The only speed limit sign is on the toll booth itself - the warning signs coming up to it are all written in English "reduced speed ahead", "Reduced speed through the toll plaza", "Speeding fines doubles through the toll plaza", Even signs that show the reduced speed limit on a yellow background with an arrow pointing up don't seem to register with the FSD. It will continue barrelling along until it reaches a real sign, and only then slow down! As I mentioned, driving with paying passengers, I can't do videos too, so I pass this lot along in the hopes that you can try them out ad maybe publish them to warn others! Thanks for a great channel!

It is cool how it sees things, like the speed bump, and reacts accordingly. I noticed mine swerved (safely) to avoid a giant puddle that was in the road yesterday. The thing I've noticed that kinda annoys me, is how it seems to drive in a way that I know full well would ding my safety score if I were driving the same way.

Got self parking included in a Mach e. Works great. I can park myself so I probably wouldn’t pay for it. Bluecruse also works great too on highways. Not the same but not $19,000 Canadian like Tesla either.

You don't have to shift to reverse, just select the parking spot, let the car come to a stop, and press the blue button. It handles all the needed forward and back.

Funny how most complaints about FSD is the "slow cautiousness" it uses. In other words, slowing to the appropriately speed to PROPERLY (and safely) drive a vehicle.

Reverse parking is always preferred as the majority of car park accidents are whilst reversing out of parking spaces. Many companies stipulate reverse parking in company car parks.

I bought my six year old Model 3 because it could have FSD and paid half what is charged today. I do not regret it. The car backs in because of the other feature, Summon, that allows a driver stuck in rain to have the car drive to where they are standing. It is supposed to be only from within view, supervised with the button on the smart phone, from the rain sheltered position. It does stay away from pedestrians to the point that it will give up sometimes. That was a fun thing for the first few times I used it but I get my exercise parking far out in the lot on purpose, and yes I do put my carts into the collection enclosures. More exercise.

I'm not following the "shift into reverse" thing to autopark. When I'm trawling through a parking lot my free FSD version shows the FSD-designated parking spots, requires me to choose one, then press "Start". I don't have to shift into reverse first, the car handles all the positioning moves forward and reverse to park.

Whenever I use Autopark it does a great job, the only thing I dislike is at the very last second it will move the steering wheel slightly. The car itself is always centered but not sure why it moves the steering wheel like that at the end. I noticed when you parked the wheel was centered (except for the second parking test). I wonder why my car never leaves it in the center.

Do you know if self park accounts for taller objects that stick out like tree branches or tall shrubs? I am curious how those objects are visualized and avoided, particularly in a “backing in” scenario. I don’t have self parking, but the distance shown on my screen when backing up doesn’t seem to take this into account (i.e. overhanging portions of a shrub that would hit the car are only about 12” away while the base of the shrub is about 24” away). Thanks for the great videos and humor. Always enjoy!
