Tesla FSD supervised v12.3.6 smarter yet aggressive driving and autopark upgrade for old Teslas

This update to version 12.3.6 includes a major new feature, but it's only for old teslas: "Autopark" can now be vision only! In terms of driving, it's a bit more aggressive and do a lot of big movements than the previous version, but it follows a predictable pattern. For instance, it doesn't accelerate excessively during right turns, but rather speeds up rapidly after completing the turn! It also starts to not slow down at speed bumps! One issue that keeps coming up is its timing when it needs to rush through yellow lights-I had a few incidents of abrupt stops at yellow lights on the day of filming, and one time, it stopped while the light was still yellow, not yet red! Maybe these so called big movements scared some people, and that’s why someone warned me to be cautious before I went filming, but I'm not easily scared! 😉 On the contrary, I think many of its actions are becoming more mature, like how it extremely slows down when crossing from a pedestrian trough onto the road, especially if there are dips or bumps at the junction, and it turns a bit wider to ensure the rear wheels don't hit the curb! These small details are a great blessing. Additionally, when it makes a left turn into a four-lane one-way street, since the straight lane is already congested and there's no chance to enter it, it only turns into the left turn lane next to the straight lane. However, it doesn't proceed to follow the cars ahead in the left turn lane like before; instead, it stops immediately and cuts in once the cars in the straight lane start moving, just like a human will do! Another major update is that it now also doing pull over before reaching the destination, whereas previously it would only start looking for parking spots after reaching the destination. It seems to be getting smarter! I hope Tesla can achieve the functionality where, at destinations that are parking lots, the car can navigate within the lot, display all available spots, and allow the driver to choose a spot or not even need to, as the car will park itself, truly realizing 100% end-to-end autonomous driving assistance.
這次12.3.6 有一個重大的更新,但只針對老車主,就是”自動停車”(autopark)也能夠視覺化!行駛的部分,他又比上一版更加魯莽駕駛,但是是有跡可循的,像是他不會在右轉的過程中極度加速,而是轉彎完成後才暴衝!經過減速丘又開始不減速!其中有一點他一直破壞我的車就是他何時需要闖黃燈拿捏的不好,拍攝當天發生幾次黃燈急煞,有一次煞車停下後黃燈還沒轉為紅燈!也許是這些大動作嚇到部分的人,才有人在我要去拍片前提醒我要小心,但這可是嚇不了我的!呵呵😉 反倒我認為很多動作他做的越發成熟,像是當他越過人行道的凹槽處進入馬路,再加上銜接處有下陷或是隆起的部分時他會極度減速,轉的角度也大一點使後輪不會撞到人行道邊角! 這些小細節是2021年前未改版的model3 車主一大福音呢!另外,當他左轉進入一個四線道單向馬路時,由於直線車道已經堵住,沒機會進入直行車道,只能轉入直行車道旁邊的左轉車道,但他不像以前一樣前進跟上前面的其他左轉車,而是跟人一樣停在原地,等到直線車道的車子走動後馬上切入!另外一個重大改版就是他現在也會把握目的地前的空位靠路旁停下,以前一定要到達定點後才開始找空位停下來,看來他越來越聰明了!我希望特斯拉能夠做到在目的地是停車場時在停車場裡頭繞,並且顯示所有能停的空位,讓駕駛選擇位子甚至不用,就自己停好,真正實現100%點到點自動輔助駕駛功能😉

    Thank you. FSD’s behavior is really case by case. It’s hard to predict. You can hold the wheel and put your feet on brake pedal (if you are comfortable). I did that when I got FSD 10.2 until 10.69 so about 1 year. When I got my Tesla, I also hold the wheel for more than half year.

    A very easy drive in Sunnyvale, Calif. But *as* *usual* , FSD has problems: 0:20 An *error* already, FSD wants to go left. *Disengaged* . 1:00 Slow hesitant clumsy Left turn 5:35 Narrator says 12.3.6 goes in the wrong lane, more often 8:30 FSD is going in circles, at the end of trip 13:55 FSD almost hits the curb. *Disengaged* . 29:30 FSD is indecisive. Not good 32:05 Long wait at the Yield sign. Bad decision 32:50 Human must *intervene* : press accel pedal 37:01 Very slow Right turn 42:30 Autopark *refuses* to back into a parking spot 44:45 FSD refuses to turn left, Human must *intervene* 47:07 Not a good Left turn 51:26 FSD is frozen because of Flashing Red Light 51:37 Human must *intervene* : press the accel pedal 51:43 FSD does not slow down for a big DIP 51:52 FSD hits several speed bumps *too* *hard* . omg 54:12 Very slow Right Turn on Red Light 1:02:00 Harsh brakes, for no reason 1:10:00 Many parking spots, but Autopark *refuses* Thank you for an excellent FSD review video!     Thank you for spending time pointing out all the interesting parts in the video. Something I would like to mention is that there are some situations where only the driver knows what exactly happened. I encourage you to ask me for more info about the specific situation before you make a conclusion. At the same time, I’m still figuring out how to best present situations to my audience so they can make more accurate judgments. 0:20 please watch one more time. I think FSD should give up the left turn procedure when it couldn’t get into left turn lane. (Also refer to my SF test in 10.12.2) 1:00 I think it did quite well for that U-turn. No sign of hesitating 8:30 as a user, I don’t see that as a problem, the issue is that it doesn’t know when is the best time or opportunity to pull over. 29:30 not what you think and you missed that real problem at 29:35 42:30 I didn’t manage to engage autopark 44:45 😭 it supposed to turn right, it was waiting there maybe it was still analyzing. My explanation and my guess is that it finally realized that it doesn’t have the capacity to turn right in that situation (the big angle) so it decided to turn left. Not the best but I appreciate it is able to make this decision by itself I agree there are many things that need more work on it. At the same time, could you also please consider that for this long video, how many % of time did it not perform well since I’m almost didn’t removed any footage of the video. My point is from 30:20 to 30:54 thank you for watching

    很棒的測試影片👍 這星期我將Model 3的軟體版本更新到2024.14.3,使用者介面V12,主畫面變得比較美觀,具有未來感。 駕駛時,在畫面上看到它可以識別前車的煞車燈及方向燈,可以識別的車輛和物體比前一個版本多了不少。 但在台灣要開放FSD,感覺還是遙遙無期…

    識別煞車燈很久以前就有了,還有一陣子連閃方向燈都有! 但我不依賴介面的顯示,也不著重他顯示什麼,有沒有顯示!因為不見得他會顯示所有”看到”的東西,很多人就會以為他沒顯示就是”沒開到”! 我認為以這樣的進步速度還有特斯拉迫切想讓更多人參與測試,台灣應該很快就開放了,如果沒有,那也不錯因為你們一有就是已經完善的或是幾乎完美,就不用經歷我這幾年驚嚇的過程! 謝謝留言謝謝收看👍🏿 另外,我們這些FSDsupervised 的使用者總是比一搬人更晚拿到新功能,所以嘍,期待你說的新介面

    进入V12进步很明显了。特别是autopark,就是实时规划路线,绝对比很多停得好,只是需要加快速度,目前是很慢的停车,完全没问题。水平侧停其实最考验人脑神经回路,基本上外侧后轮胎一压线就要开始回方向盘。这点FSD从开始到结尾就是完美路线。😂

    刚看到隔壁说下个版本会加入倒车功能以应对特殊路况。nice! 之前看到一段视频是这样的“语音导航到目的地,然后FSD自动启动” 有这个功能吗?需要HW4.0才有还是?目前看到基本大家都是手动启动FSD的。

    I thought there was a separate setting for acceleration mode, so you could set it to chill. I think it was a separate from the assertive, average and chill driving mode. So you if you don't like these fast accelerations, maybe make sure the settings there are correct? Great LONG video, but a lot of same roads, while you tried to find those narrow streets. But as it is AI now, this is also good to see that it is quite repetitive and you can predict big part of its behavior. Oh, and there were some screams too! For speed bumps. :(

    I think people review this version as a “bad” version is because 1) it used to handle speed hump better in previous versions 2) my assertive was doing great last version and now it does this accelerating rapidly after right turn, which I believe that is what people refer to as “aggressive”! To me, I actually have different point of view. It does more “aggressive” big movements but in general, it’s stable in term of more predictability, no hesitating when doing most of maneuvers and that makes me feel more confident when it’s doing an “aggressive” movement. 😁😁🤣 big thanks for watching! I don’t like long video, but I also don’t want people thinking that I’m showing its bad side only. All the ”boring” part is actually the time when it does a good job so that it makes people bored. Not just nothing to analyze and also people take it for granted. Every time it finally can do a good job in some situations which it didn’t do well in the past, it will be the “boring parts” in the video (eg, traffic cone). What do you think 😁 for this long video, how many % of time did it not perform well since I’m almost didn’t removed any footage of the video.

    @@teslaus5675 I think that it is better to show both good and bad behaviors. But skip the uneventful ride in between, where there is no difference. So for example: 'Oh, it is better here, with this right turn' skip.... or fast-forward... 'Look, this is an improvement with a lane change' fast-forward... 'This is bad! It was better in the previous version, Too much hesitation!' fast-forward... 'Great maneuver around the truck....' fast-forward... 'Oh no, slow for the speed bump!' etc. So we would not need to scan one-hour long video for those interesting moments. I think you did something like that here already a bit. You can also make some kind of simple statistics at the end of the video, for example : miles driven: 46 -> city: 38 (highways: the rest) good behavior: 23 -> new behavior: 3, clear improvement: 12 bad behavior: 15 -> critical: 2, lane change/bad route: 4, speed bumps: 2, pot-holes: 3, too slow to act: 4 minor: 19 -> too slow: 8, too fast: 3, wipers: 3, lane drift: 4, close to curb: 1 And we would see how it changes between different routes, weather conditions, sub-versions etc. You can check TeslaFsdTracker page. They try to gather all kinds of statistics for Tesla rides. It is intended mostly for taxi drivers I think, but I might be wrong. I would not report test drives there, as they are intended to look for trouble. I like the shorts that you posted. They tend to show good parts of FSD, and I would keep it like that. Because bad examples will be obsolete soon. But good and funny ones will be shown over and over, so it will benefit your channel.

    The fast I refer in videos is that you can really feel the G force, and it’s not comfortable for most people. Slow but not too slow and refine maneuvers makes human feels like being chauffeured 😁

    FSD will eventually change human driving habits. It slows you down but it's safe. When people realize that it can drive safely, then get used to it. Slow or fast just an opinion. Emotionless machine behavior😂

    自動停車比那些停車歪一邊、壓線、整台偏一邊的好多了(沒在管別人好不好停、車門能不能開的),這些不會停車的人應該強制使用自動停車😂 。紅燈不能右轉是紅色箭頭? 不是會另外吊一個牌子寫no right turn on red? 奇怪?路邊平行停車也是沒格子就會停,為什麼垂直的就不會了😅?

    我的意思是他比上一個12.3.4 更aggressive! 我真的不知道他暴衝是不是因為assertive 請參考assertive 影片! v11版晚期開assertive 順多了,現在可能不一定,他常常變來變去的! v11 版時期我開assertive 跟chill 都很aggressive, 次數不同而已

    @@CharlieWongHK 我想表達的是,assertive 在12.3.4 時幾乎不存在在不合理的地方極度加速,我的12.3.6 (新改版的車則為12.3.5) 這種不符合人類會做的行為又回來而我感到惋惜,因為明明上一版有”改進”。 我認為assertive 是指換道時更為積極,如一察覺到前方車輛比自己慢5英里以內馬上換道,不是assertive 設定則為察覺到比自己車慢7英里跟在後面10秒後才換(以大約做比例給一個概念)。assertive 也會更積極的在車距很近的時候換道,不是assertive 設定則這樣的次數減少。所以assertive 不應該在不該加速的地方激烈加速(或許不是assertive 設定的也會這樣只是次數減少,那些你觀看的人沒拍到而已),至少這是我認為特斯拉可以考慮改進的地方! 以前在拿到FSDbeta 前有一個安全評分,這個安全評分有包括轉彎時離心力不可超過多少(請參見我之前的影片) 可見他們是應該可以測量到加速的後座力並考慮控制一下使大部分人體感受是良好的! 謝謝你的提問,這樣我可以知道我的描述是否存在不夠清楚而使人產生誤會。 我認為科技應該是服務人類,而他們已經經過”可以做到”的時段, 似乎現在更需要琢磨這些細微部分使之能成為人類更好的幫手,最佳的輔助工具,我相信特斯拉能夠做到極致

    @@CharlieWongHK 我剛剛提起你看到的那些人拍的片沒有我誇張是因為沒被你看到,我想起另一個可以佐證的經驗。不知道你有沒有注意到是這部片的後半段才比較常發生? 我拍攝完過後隔天他更積極做這樣的動作幾乎每個彎完都來一次(請參考我在資訊欄裡詳細的描述), 也許是我在某個類似的狀況踩了電門所以之後他一直為我這樣服務哈哈! 別笑我這不是不可能,很久以前我在第10版的影片裡就已經告訴大家FSD在同一個版本裡都能變來變去的,不是改版才有變化!另一點是我在拍完後,黃燈是否闖過的問題才發生所以都沒機會在這次影片裡展示。FSD這個系統我開了快三年的感受就是他及其不穩定,你現在看到的畫面是好的或是不好的都不能蓋棺定論該版本整體是如何。 還有,其實我只是指出我這個版本又開始暴衝,我可沒極度厭惡,因為我早習慣了,但我都建議第一次使用的人別開assertive 😁🤦‍♀️

    @@teslaus5675謝謝那麼詳盡的描述。從軟件開發的角度而言,“變來變去”可能是故意的,因為當開發者要優化軟件時,就會“變來變去”收集用戶反饋。 另外,神經元網絡本身也有“變來變去”的特性,因為每次計算出來的都只是機率,而不是決定性的答案。就如聊天機器人,你問同一問題,答案每次都不同。

    12.3.6在不少Corner case是退步了 但是整体进不了 第三方统计 12.3.6已经突破平均每300英里接管一次

    @@shdmd2118 Diagonal 我試過很多次他不會停,只會pull over 的時候不小心滑進一個停車格哈哈哈(請參考v12雪國遊行記)! 你是說逆向行駛嗎?他常常逆向所以我也不足以為奇了😁 在停車場裡目前他其實只想做到不撞到人跟其他車,還有curb (後期,之前常常要擦撞)
