Tesla Factory Flyover - Fremont California

Ойын-сауық

Welcome to Tesla Factory in Fremont, California; birthplace of the Model S, Model X and soon to be Model 3. While admittedly the video is short, I believe that I captured the essence of this wonderful site; especially the delivery/release of a Model S to a customer. Hear Elon Musk describe in his own words about work ethics, principles, attitude and failure.

Love your work. Always has a way to draw my eyes, and ears to the screen. Your drone footage + the audio seems to paint a picture and make a story in my mind. Keep it up!

I understand Tesla bought a Toyota/GM plant in Fremont, but I hope they got serious, permanent tax concessions and regulation variances for producing their Model 3’s there. If not, the State of California is going to tax and regulate them out of business. They should put the plant somewhere more central, like the abandoned Hummer plant in Shreveport.

It was a GM plant from 1962 when it opened until 1982 when it closed. In 1984 GM and Toyota opened it as New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc (NUMMI) a JOINT VENTURE that closed in 2010... GM saw the joint venture as an opportunity to learn about lean manufacturing from the Japanese company, while Toyota gained its first manufacturing base in North America and a chance to implement its Taylorism-inspired production system in an American labor environment, avoiding possible import restrictions. GM employees went to Toyota's Takaoka plant in Japan and improved production at NUMMI, Spring Hill and other sites Up to May 2010, NUMMI built an average of 6000 vehicles a week, or nearly eight million cars and trucks since opening in 1984. In 1997, NUMMI produced 357,809 cars and trucks, peaking at 428,633 units in 2006

Does this company hire females in the production area? I have an interview and I am a little concerned about the taboos with women and cars.

Are any of the finished cars on the property Model 3's? I can see some are Model X, but perhaps its just not enough resolution. Its something that I'm sure California Phantom can do!

+Tom Andersen I’m sure I can spend some time trying to track some down in the footage. If I do I will certainly mark it in the video.
