This video is a quick shout out to the life and legacy of Terry Fox.

The month of September is a very important time of year for Canadians. In nearly every community in Canada we observe and take part in an event that nationally unifies us and encourages us. It is the month of the Terry Fox runs.
Why September?
On September 1, 1980 Terry Fox (a young man of only 21) was forced to stop his ‘Marathon of Hope’ due to the progression of his cancer. This ‘Marathon’ (started on April 12 of that same year) was his cross-Canada run to draw awareness and donations for cancer research.
He had cancer himself and he was running for his fellow patients (many of them just kids) for whom he had an unquenchable love for and allegiance to.
He ran 143 consecutive days.
He averaged a marathon every day!
In case you think you misread that... he ran BACK-to-BACK marathons 143 days in a row!!!
AND for those of you not familiar with the details of his physical (and emotional) feat, Terry Fox did this on ONE LEG (the other being a prosthesis due to his prior treatments).
Though the physical stamina and strength he displayed staggered the Canadian public (and gradually changed his initially lonely runs on the east coast into mobs of co-running groups as he reached Ontario), it was his heart that captured the nation.
He was humble, joyful, and demonstrated a sacrificial long-suffering love that quieted all onlookers.
He has left a legacy that still awes us and inspires us.
He never reached his desired destination (the coast of British Columbia), BUT he instead has taken us far further than he would have ever imagined.
