That tribute to the ol’ gal almost brought a tear to the eye. I’m a fairly new follower but have been diving deep into the older episodes and sooty never fails to impress. Can’t pick one that stands out, as they all do. Much love for old soot, can’t wait to see the adventures of Mark II soon though!

It is so nice to see smiles on everyone when the going is so rough. Technical issues, mud bogs, no sleep and everyone is just having a blast!

I reckon the most memorable moment for me with Ol Soot would be her snow trip in Tas. Over all the bogs, climbs, wheel lifts, it’s Sootys Bar that takes the cake. Wheel on fellas can’t wait for Sooty 2.0. 🤙🏼 I drive a 2006 N70 Sr5 Toyota Hilux.

Idk how i feel about this one. such an amazing episode. helps to that im local to the area, so cool to see my home spots. awesome to see everyone cheer sooty and shaun on when she started again. Favorite memory of Sooty. There are soooo many. It seems Sooty has always came to the rescue to help ALL OF THE GUYS OUT MORE THAN ANYTHING. But i also know everyone has also at 1 time or another helped Sooty and yourself out as well. I have a 97 Toyota 4Runner 4x4 Limited. 3400.v6. Here in the states. Love watching you guys.

Jocko's spotting and ability to drive excellent lines are nothing short of top tier. Absolutely amazing content, hella entertaining and educational as well.

Another great episode...Goodbye "Sooty". You boys are the reason to my upgraded off road skills, because of you and I've been given more thumbs up lately. Which I say, "With a 4WD, theres always hope". Thank you 4wd Adventures 24/7 👍

A coiled 79 done right has some serious flex. I wonder if he could put the springs on the top of axle cause that would get the hangers higher up and be just as capable in the ruts as coils as far as getting hung up.

I've got a 1991 Nissan Safari and my favourite memory of Sooty is when I first saw her in your Coffs Harbour episode from 2018. Sooty is the reason I fell in love with 4wding and despite myself ending up with a Nissan, she (and all 80's) will always have a special place in my heart.

2002 Toyota Hilux KZN165r There are far too many wild and wonderful memories of old Soot, but one of the funniest would have to be the hill climb (either the Vic high country or NSW) where the second of the two lockers were exposed to Graham. He was absolutely shooketh and could not explain how Sooty, in a somewhat smug fashion, trotted her way up the steep and shaley climb. Priceless! Absolutely love this car.

I for one shed a bit of a tear Sooty is like my first dog. Missed and loved every day. Good job Shauno. Sean in USA

We also loved seeing the tribute to sooty at the end of this episode! Such a fitting end to a 5 year career. The mid north coast and far north coast have some challenging tracks along with some stunning scenery. You couldn’t have asked for a better send off destination. Bring on Sooty 2.0! 💪🏼

Shauno! This episode is by far the best memory of Soot. The old girl has made other vehicles look, at times, inept. The short part in this episode where you walk through why shes retired, and seeing her still defy the odds to keep on keeping on is a testiment to the vehicle and how well she was treated.. Despite the hiding you gave her.. I have a 76 seties, which ive slowly been self modifying, and young (very new) family which i cant wait to get them out on the tracks camping with. Hope Soot MKII brings as much joy to yourself and viewers as MKI did.

Best thing/ memory about Sooty is how just about every trip it hits everything first. Always pushed to its limits, all mods are for a reason and one of the faces of 4wd 24/7. Look forward to see what little changes are different in the next build. My 2021 Ranger could breath a bit better. (Will never sound as good as the Mits 79)

Hey 4x4 24/7 team, I drive a 08/16 Holden RG Colorado dual cab. And my favourite memory of Sooty, is this very episode. After all the hard yards and, what seemed impossible, drives this beast conquered. I couldn't have imagined a better trip to send off Sooty in thick clouds of glory. She's the toughest rig I believe to have seen and her rebirth will have everyone on the edge if their camp chairs. Cheers Sooty until next time!

By far my favourite memory of the big sooty was when it was in tassie and towed the DMW 79 through the massive mud holes during the night. So keen to see how mark 2 turns out. 🤙🤙

I'm rather "new" here since I discovered this channel only about 2 months ago but I already watched all the episodes... most more than once... and you guys are legends to me already. As much as I've loved all the moments of Old Sooty in this show I really enjoyed the final send off. It was a strong fight till the end and a good shot for the final beach scene. Forever #1 80 in Australia. 2011 Isuzu Dmax mate cheers

Can't really say I have one specific favorite memory of sooty, all of them are my favorites. The 80s series turbo diesel being my all time dream rig and being from the states it being almost impossible to own, watching shauno and soot over the years has almost given me the chance to wheel my dream rig via KZread. Sooty will always be a legend and will definitely be missed

RIP Sooty we'll see you reborn and rise like a phoenix, seeing Sooty keep on going no matter the obstacles revived my love of the track and now starting to turn my 03 gu3 patrol into a rough track ready tourer. Thanks Shaun and Sooty Raising a cold one for ya's 🍺🍻

This episode would be my favourite of Sooty. The fact that she just keeps going despite being worked as hard as she does, she's fairly reliable. In this episode she lived up to what she was built for even though she's near the end. Old Sooty will live on in the new build. I can only hope my 200 series gets to go on some of tracks that Sooty has done.

Cracking episode fellas! and what a way to send off soot. My 4 year old son and I always watch on and we love seeing the adventures the boys take on. We live here on the Coffs Coast and for us, our favourite episode would have to be around a year ago when you ventured out to pebbly beach camp ground and cooked up the chilli mud dogs! Plenty of carnage in that episode including a snapped axle for sooty and nearly ending up vertically on its side…… the action and carnage was at course all offset by the stunning surrounds and camping spots on the Coffs Coast which we are lucky to frequent. We have a 2018 200 Series and the exhaust is the last piece of the puzzle for us! Thanks so much for taking us on many adventures and we look forward to seeing Sooty MKII taking on more tracks! Cheers!

I've got an old 94 2.8d 4runner that seems to do the same tantrums as Sooty in the mornings . My most favourite trip of Sooty would have to be watching it go down all the Cape York tracks, especially the successful attempt down Gunshot after cooking the engine! So nerve racking haha. Cannot wait to see mk 2 in action!

What an absolutely epic send off and sooty came through like she always does. Sad to know that was her last trip she's been such a workhorse. Thank you sooty for your service. Favorite moment of sooty all of them but skull dragging that truck out of the tide and all the tassie trips truly stand out

Hard to pick just one favourite memory of sooty but it’s hard to look past soot’s performance on the $1000 track. Absolute beast through the mud, the recovery’s and full sends just really made for a great episode. Definitely showed what an 80 is truely made of. I myself have an 80series HZJ80 and if it sounded even half as good as sooty with that new exhaust I’d be over the moon.

So many memorable moment for old sooty, I’d have to say when she got sent down the $1000 track in tasi I’ve got myself an 80 series also, bit of a slug but she goes alright

Would have to say my favourite Sooty moment is seeing her drive through the snow in the high country, makes me wanna go everytime I watch it. I drive a 2018 Isuzu MU-X

I drive a 2007 Hilux and gotta say my favourite memory of Sooty is when you did the cheap 4wd challenge in 24 hours and sooty had the old cheese cutters on. Cheers

So many great memories of Sooty since I found you guys 2 years ago but one I really loved was the snow trip and Shauno's bar out the back of Sooty. Great fun trip. Watching the the Sooty 2 build and great to see so many original parts being used. Sooty lives on. This was a great episode too guys, many thanks. Wow, this is a masterpiece. The scenes looking down the roads with the sun in your eyes is my favorite. Great work!

Again a great episode. I've been a Jeep guy for as long as I've been wheeling, but I gotta say that Sooty has been shining on just about every single episode it's been in. One very capable and dependable rig. I love the wheeling, I love the feeling, I love the campsite cooking with Shauno and Jocko doing their magic, aided by most likely a fairly generous amount of quality refreshments down the throat.

We’ll done boys. Cracker of a final for sooty ! Am driving my 2014 hilux Favourite sooty episode would have to be the snow trip in the high country

Great send off for sooty, particularly that she gave same grief on the first track! Hard to pick a favourite ep, although loved seeing her tear up pine creek to then transition to the calm cruise down kinkuna, looks at home with both. A torqit exhaust would really make a difference to my twin locked Fj Cruiser, really missing that sweet note through the tough tracks and higher RPM drives. Plus, would most likely push me in the right direction for at least a tune. Looking forward to seeing Mk2 in action!

This and the one from Tasmania where y'all had to turn around and go home might be my favorite episodes. It takes discipline and humility to make the right decision, even when you really just want to keep going. And the fact that you all keep a positive attitude and work as a team when things don't go smoothly is incredible. Even with everything Sooty has been through, she could still outrun any normal vehicle on a track like this. Good on you!

Fav memory was the snow trip with the bar out the back of Sooty. Great send off for Sooty this week. Kept you on your toes for the last trip, but kept on going. Such a weapon. 1998 100 series cruiser 2UZ-FE.

I drive a 2011 Mazda BT50. Favourite memory: when sooty got really bogged in the Frenchmans track cape york and she fell in a ditch full of mud that was an epic episode.

2016 ford ranger xlt, my fav memory is honestly seeing sooty just run on oil then turn full miracle to come through and finish this drive it was meant to be any other car would of blown the motor but she knew this was her last drive and had to get through no matter how tough it was enjoy retired life sooty 🤝🤝

Good old soot gave it to anything that it was thrown at! Up and down the coast , and any journey made throughout Aus , the usual “ puff the magic dragon “ signature blow and full roar just had you sitting at home being what 4WD driving is all about! This video reminds me that I need to buy a Factor 55 rope splicing tool and a brand new spare rope for my winch before I head out next time...then once I finally retire the old rope, I need to make some extensions out of it, because that's a damned good idea to have some in my gear bag...

I bought one for a friend as a gift... But an electrician's fid is the same tool for about $15 USD at Home Depot or Lowes :)

Fav memory has to be from recently when Shaun ran out of fuel and was denying it for so long until they put some more fuel in, and from that, it resulted in Ruben flipping his 200. I mean my 07 Pajero could really use a new exhaust

Soot towing the Ruben through Tazzy, loved the old girl covered in snow, pretty as a picture 📸 We drive a 200, but recently bought an 80 with some mates for "beers in the shed with tools Fridays!" Love the content boys, keep it up

what Im going to miss most is the Smiles Stooty has put on so many faces, the laughs and good times... a real dependable friend. Good show, and Hello from Canada!

Favourite memory of Sooty was when Shauno first put in the front diff lock but didn't tell the boys about it and then proceeded to walk up everything he pointed it at. Gooooooooo Sooty! 2018 79 series.

Love 80 on the rear (GME) most on this convoy of amazing rigs. The 200 series is one hell of a rig but maintenance and stuffs gonna super expensive. D-max on the other hand suits my conditions best especially with the Mitsalloy canopy but being only on 31s its too low. Atleast 33s would be ideal for my needs cause tracks I used to do need bigger tyres than 31s even full 32s aren't high enough. If jocko was on 33s he would have cleared most of the bog holes and winching won't be necessary. He hung up many times cause of his tiny wheels😞. Timbo on the other hand can do a spring swap from leafs to coils. The rear low spring hanger is the weak point on a deep ruts muddy or not for the 79 series.

I agree! $1k track is my favorite after watching every episode! I live in the States but own an imported 93 1hdt that I've named Mr Soots lol. I'll miss ol Soots, but hopefully his soul will live on in Sooty MK2

So many moments to choose from, but my favourite (and most nostalgic) Sooty moment was actually a while back when you guys did the Climies Track in West Tassie. It was one of the first ever videos I saw on this channel and it absolutely blew my mind watching Sooty lumber up that insane cliff face, leaning over the massive waterfall drop with a stance of defiant fearlessness (the exact opposite to what Shauno would have been feeling at that moment with his fear of heights!). Watching that moment with my jaw dropping is one of the moments I can look back and pinpoint in deciding that I wanted to get my own rig and explore Australia - I had no idea places like that were accessible (let alone scalable by a car) and I hope to make it there one day... I would LOVE a Torqit exhaust on 'Frosty', my 2003 4L V6 120 Toyota Prado.

My favourite memory of Soot would be the Snow trip in the Vic high country. some of the most stunning footage you blokes have ever put out. I would love to take my 105 series landcruiser through there.

Hey Shauno, I drive a 1994 80 series 1hzTurbo, My favourite memory of sooty is in this episode when you have the most perfect grin only your face standing in front of her after she didn't blow up with the boys hyping you up in the background and smoke is still pouring out and everyone's just having a good time out on the tracks. Nothing better. I have in fact made it my Lock Screen wallpaper on my Phone for motivation for my own cruiser and mental health. Hope that is okay. Cheers mate. Guy

I drive a gq tb42 4inch with 35’s lockers love the ol girl and I’ve watched all the episodes and I love it. I love how sooty Leeds the convoy evertime use hit the tracks. Favourite memory of Sooty was helping to pull out the Nissan on Moreton island, great teamwork in a beautiful location. I just got off Moreton and makes me feel better knowing that Shauno got bogged in Sooty as well on the island, it wasn't just me. Some real great footage on that trip fellas. I drive a 1999 105 series Landcruiser

I own a r51 pathfinder I just got her and love her! My first 4wd! Sooty made me fall inlove with the tracks! my favourite memory is the time sooty powered up the most sketchy rock climb in Lithgow track! Sooty is just a weapon sad to see the old girl go she is just a rig! Always powered on and made the hardest climbs look like an easy task 😂 love ya sooty ❤️

Sooty 🤩 My favourite memory is seeing her in the flesh at the Brisbane 4x4 Show and actually be able to touch and see all the memories (dints) from all the shows. As awesome as those torqit exhausts are on Toyotas, let’s see one of these great exhausts on something different!! Perhaps a short wheel base Defender hey ShaunO? 🤔 Love the show! Never stop

The fact that old soot just keeps going and going, gets through anything and everything proving that old rigs still have plenty of go if not more, so favourite memory would just be watching every episode of big soot just going and going no matter what without stopping, but the snow trip in Tasmania was pretty hectic and definitely one of the favourite episodes :) , I drive a TD42 gu patrol🤟🏼

I have always liked the Victorian high country memories of Sooty....probably because its hot as hades where I live. That and the current crop of videos where you share your feelings while building the new Sooty. It really shows a connection with the vehicle and perfectly illustrates how much we love our cars! Its the same love I have for my 2008 76 series Landcruiser wagon.

I have always love seeing Sooty in Coffs Habour, I remember the time when Sooty done a rear axle on the first track. Track side repairs are always fun, I hope you kept the small piece that you removed from the housing, would be good to frame and put up in the man cave.

Hats off Soot 🧢 what a way to go out. My fav of old sooty is Cape York crossing a river with nose buried in bank and the old girl taking on water in the tail end. Epic recovery. I’m rolling a 2016 Colorado. Cheers legends.

I’ve got a 2012 RG Colorado and damn I’ve just loved every single time Sooty was there to pull A Nissan out like all good 80s do.

I'm rocking a 2007 Pajero and it does me proud. My core memory of Soot is hands down 2019 in Fraser Island. The moment I laid eyes on that rig with that beach it transformed my passion to get out and explore. Ever since, I've been glued to these videos and it made me persist in saving up for my first 4WD!

2018 ranger. Best show for sootie has to be this one. Heaps to choose from but this one just shows the resilience of soot. This thing does not give up!!

Just want to say a thankyou to my son who introduced me to the channel that got me through a week of iso with covid. Now I'm inspired to start a build with my young bloke and get in and out of the same sort of trouble that you guys do. We're thinking of a shorty gq but any suggestions would be much appreciated. Sorry I got side tracked. I have a 17 dmax. My fav sooty moment is on the $4500 track is tassie. Absolutely fantastic episode. Loved the whole thing.

Seeing that old girl, nearly runing away, then start op fine moments later. Full noise thru a bog, smoking out the entire track. And finishing of with that tribute….🥲 A minute of silence, crack a cold one and salute to a true legend… Soot you great thing, you will be dearly missed!!!

Best memory of Sooty would have to be the Vic high country trip, and of course you couldn’t have Shano’s bar without a Sooty tailgate. I've got a 2006 Toyota Hilux SR. One of my favourite memories of soot was when Graham was describing her as a Squid. When ever she's in trouble she let's out a bellow of black smoke and she's free. Absolutely love old soot, for sure my favourite!

My favourite Sooty moment was watching her down in Tassie dragging Reubens dead 79 out of the tracks in the middle of the night while pissing with rain. She showed just how unbeatable the 80 with a 1hdt really is. I have the same vehicle as Sooty, a 1991 80 series with a 1 HD-T. Sooty is certainly an inspirational old girl, sad to see her go.

This is a happy but also sad episode to see the original sooty retire but it has given me so much influence to jump ship from ford to soon to be purchased 1988 hj75 Toyota landcruiser Best moment of sooty is when rescued Rubin's 79 with no clutch through Tasmania my jaw was dropped the whole time

I drive a zd30di gu patrol, a gq patrol and a td mk triton, hard to decide what a favourite moment of sooty is when there have been multiple occasions where sooty has thrown the whole ''toyota v nissan'' fight out the window and has genuinely just impressed.

I drive a MN triton with lift and other basic 4wding mods. My favourite memory of spooty is when you have special guests come on for a day and the kids get to have an absolute blast getting to sit in it and see it in person!
