Yeah. People always make jokes about foster failing(some even go as far as feeling bad about it), but once someone gets an extremely withdrawn dog and invests so much time into them- it's very hard to let them go. Especially since you've established that bond, and the dog may not do so well emotionally with a new owner.

This story was all about happy beginnings. She came on Valentines Day. And she opened the heart of her human mom. She loves her babies who are going to their own caring families. And Valentine is staying right where she is. She and her new mom will love and foster others who need it.

Right?! And I’m so glad that she was in this loving home for a while before giving birth. What a comfort for her to be able to whelp in a space where she felt safe.

So, it’s not only continually amazes me how animals can recover from trauma with the patient love and support of humans, but also that there are humans like this absolutely amazing, kind woman who cared for this dog. You’re both ridiculously beautiful. And I’m not at all crying. Nothing to see here.

I hope you're right but as I watched this I became unsure. There's another angle that people might look at it, and I have watched loads of these videos and I can't believe it only just occurred to me. I'm not accusing anyone but seeing how broken valentine was at the start it's heartbreaking to think she could ever be like that again. I wish it was obvious that people have entirely good intentions. I just believe in the natural greed that permeates the world more than goodness does.

This woman is super, and she is adopting the mom pit so that is even better deal, now hope to hear her rescue works out and this dog is going no where, she is home.

Incredible patience shown by these foster carers - unsung heroes.

It's difficult to watch puppies you've had since their birth move on, even to good homes. But remember, you WILL still love them forever. It's just that they will have other families to love them too!

To go from being a terrified, shut down dog to full body tail wags……doesn’t get better than that. And I’m so pleased that Valentine gets to stay with the woman who worked that magic ❤️❤️❤️

Relief. They have litters. Humans feel the absence and feel loss. Dogs get very tired of 3-8 at once *very* quickly. Kids gotta grow up sometime.

No, I learned it by watching dozens of canine life cycles, and while they might be sad or worried at a *sudden* disappearance, since they have personalities and all that, very nearly every dog acts very relieved when the Milk Factory phase is over.

@@zerosumgame5700 Absolutely. My aunt took in a pregnant dog, and even when the babies were still nursing, she would just get up and leave to get a break. They would be crying for food, and she would just look at them from like five feet away on the couch. I had to bring them to her for her to even nurse them sometimes. I can't really blame her, though, because she had thirteen puppies (fourteen originally, but the runt didn't make past the second day).

As long as their old enough to be adopted momma shouldn't be stressing really they usually go back to their day to day life no issue

I love Valentines mom’s voice! She could be on radio or a podcast.

What a great rescuer and rescue story. So heartbreaking seeing abandoned dogs hurt and afraid. Glad to see a happy ending 💕💕💕

I truly love these success stories. I am glad these dogs learn how to trust humans again,after being treated so horribly. She is so happy now and she has a good home to deliver her puppies. And those puppies are so adorable. Thank you for adopting her !

I always wonder about that. Grey wolf pups stay with their families longer, a couple years apparently, they help their parents raise the new pups and eventually they leave. If it is very sad for the mama, at least the support of a loving human helps her get through it :) and this lady is so sweet, so all in all I'm happy for them too

Hopefully those puppies have good forever homes.

This woman is a great human being! She is young and I expect her to do wonderful things for the world!

You shouldn't be glad about foster fails. In some cases it means that a person can't take in another animal, and if that animal doesn't find a foster it is often put to sleep. In this case she wants to open a rescue, so I'm sure this won't happen here, but in other cases the perfect family for the dog might've been out there and another dog dies. So we shouldn't strive to "foster fail, but to foster win" (quote from Kitten Lady, woman who rescued hundreds of cats, who's talked about this topic a lot).

In some cases foster parents are evn pressured to foster fail because their "friends" would see them as heartless otherwise. We need to stop this culture of celebrating people who foster fail.

My eyes welled up seeing how scared she was at first. So happy for her that she found a lovely soul in this sweet rescuer. Xxx

Your little Valentine sure loves you! She knows you saved her and her babies.

She has the best "I'm friendly" smile face when she was opening the bedroom door to greet Val good morning! Those little squinty eyes, how could anyone hurt her?! Even when she was frightened and sinking into herself, she gave a friendly lick to the hand approaching her and was too polite to NOT accept the cookie, even though she didn't eat it! The sweetness within her is saint-like. I am so very thankful that she will NEVER be without love and necessities again! 💞

Pittie has that momma "glow". I'm super happy that pregnant pittie found a compassioninate human who really loves her unconditionally. Her puppies are so adorable and plump!! 😍🐾🐕👏👍🥰❤️

Majority of dogs in the shelter are not pit bulls. This is not a pit bull either. The only and real pit bull is the Apbt

It is amazing, unlike many pregnant dogs, she was not euthanised..., her puppies were NOT aborted or euthanised AND they were all adopted to loving homes where they will all have family reunions. She and her pups are very blessed. And her furmummy, intends to open a rescue in the mama dog's name in the future. Wow ! So much positivity! Thanks to all !

It breaks my heart to know that these beautiful dogs are often kept in some pretty horrific conditions. It must be awful to be a pregnant dog in an abusive or neglectful household. So glad this mama had a kind human beside her ❤️

Foster homes sound like a much better option than shelters. I think fosters usually provide behavioural rehabilitation or short term medical care. I think they would have strategies for making the dog less anxious when they move onto their forever home. The important thing is that the dog stays out of shelters and lives in a home with individual attention instead.
