Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

It's like sitting and hearing a friend talk...love this coffee one take episode about all the rigs.
Lesson: New jeep has drive train problem, can't get parts and leaves you stranded. Old jeep has drive train problem, it gets you home and is fixed in no time. Thanks for the video! I love your content.

Being "new" is only part of the problem. It's a 392. It has a transfer case that is specific to that model. Only like 6400 were produced in 2021, and about the same for 2022. So less than 15k over two years compared to nearly 400k wranglers sold for the US in those same two model years. A Sport or even a regular Rubicon wouldn't have this issue just because of the plethora of models made and the parts to support it. It's the pitfall of buying a limited edition model.
Would be fun to hear your thoughts on all the previous rigs and why you decided to move on from them.

That will make a great episode. Brad has told why on video why he sold his vehicles. He may elaborate more I suppose especially the power wagon. It was large on the trails but would like to hear more talk.

Hats off to your son for serving...I was a Radioman in Navy from '80 to '89...great video as always Brad.
Thanks for the thorough update! Always enjoy hearing about your adventures. It’s great to see your sons getting more involved with the channel too. Awesome that Regena is also getting some updates to her rig to take it to the next level!
Great video Brad . If you read page 14 in your owner’s manual. 4WD Auto is recommended for hard surfaces like normal city and highway driving . This is perfect for slippery surfaces like snow and rain . Once you go off-road, you need to be in 4WD hi or low , otherwise you’ll burn the clutch.
Thank you for your videos Brad. Always entertaining, you really show your passion so well mate!
Another great episode. Love the family aspect and seeing people do new things for the first time (like me). There is a certain patience that Brad brings that helps me out with my jeep.
Super excited to meet you guys. Really enjoying the content. Thank you.
Really liked the videos your sons did. Fun seeing them “find their way”. Seem like great kids. Looking forward to more of those.

Great Rigg video...THANKS Brad!! Love all the options..
I love my 2014JKU, I still feel it’s one of the best combos of functionality and practicality for off-roading, daily driving and adventuring. I’m all for technology improving things but when it starts to get in the way of reliability, it needs to be addressed and re-invented. Great vid Brad, hope they get that 392 back to you pronto!

Same thing with my 2016 JKU. I was considering the 4xe until Brad got one and found it not to be ready for Prime Time yet. Thanks for testing and reviewing the new Jeeps Brad! I know I may not be your intention, but your "real world" impressions are very valuable!
Great honest talk. My son just got a 2021 JL and he is watching all your videos to get a idea of what he wants to add and build out. I have been watching you for years and you always give great advise. PS son is a former Navy guy also.
Great video!! I’m pumped for the next update.
I really enjoyed both “quiet” videos. Thanks for the update.
Never stop filming............ I look so forward to your videos.... My favorite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Regards to your family. And all who wheel.
Sorry to hear about the bad clutches in the transfer case. Definitely the type of issue that can give an owner shaken faith over a vehicle. Thanks for the video.
Love, love, love these coffee one take videos. 😀
Thank you and your family for great trips you share With all of us. Hope to see you at Redmond Oregon this year . Don and Donna Hope Idaho
I enjoy the quiet videos as well as the talkies!
Hey there…. Thank you, for the very interesting vid. I enjoy all of them! I’m a past owner of a ‘78 Wagoneer. I acquired it used in about ‘84 and it was bone stock EXCEPT for a modified 360 V8 that had been balenced & blueprinted a a huge 4-barrel Carter carb slapped on it. Command Trac 4wd and a deleted air-pump. Creatively, the original owner in TX had put a OEM sticker on the air box that said something like California emissions compliant. Since the TX yearly inspection at the time was visual only, I could point out to the TX inspector that this was a CA vehicle with weird stuff and no problem! Enough of all that. The weak point of that platform is that lousy Chrysler transmission. My usage was as a tow pig and ramp launcher for a full keel sailboat that was about 5000lb on the trailer. It took LOTs of oomph and traction on the ramp. The truck excelled. The torqueflite transmission sucked. When the transmission showed signs of going out for the third time, I called it quits and sold the truck. Switched to a 78 F-150 with a 460 V8. Pure joy.
I enjoyed the no talk video. got to listen to nature. Also love the 74. Very retro
Brad, if you can swap itoutnexttime with an Atlas transfer case. The 392 is a once in a lifetime vehicle. Please keep it.

Love the 392 idea. For almost 100k I was originally concerned about the full time 4wd. Even the old K5 blazers with full time new process transfer cases were a headache. Good luck Brad. Thanks for the info.
Great One-Take Brad
Glad to hear about the “quiet videos” to come, love all the content.
Love the coffee one takes. Looking forward to the vehicle history one.
Brad enjoyed your coffee one take sitting out in the garage with my two dogs enjoying a cup of coffee looking forward to the next one. Dale from perris.
Looking forward to more videos from the sons, they do a great job as well. The more content the better. Glad they are branching out with their own videos.
Thank you so much for all the videos. We’re inspired by your adventures. Is Marco doing well, haven’t seen him with you for a while. Be safe!
Thanks for keeping me entertained

Good stuff!Hooyah!
Just started watching your videos and they are great. I live in Colorado and have done many trips in the past back when I had a CJ7. Fast forward in 2012 I bought a 2010 2door JK and I loved that little Jeep....Just bought a 2020 JL 4door Wrangler Willys and now my Granddaughter has the 2010 Jk and we have made her a Jeeper. That little Jeep has over 183,000 and it still keeps on going. We love our Jeeps. And i love watching all your videos.
I really like the no talk videos. Don’t worry what others think. You do great things ❤
FWIW I enjoy the quiet videos!
Don’t give up on the 392. I’d look at doing oil changes on the t-case at accelerated intervals or swap the t-case for an Atlas. My plan is to run everything stock until they fail then upgrade as I go.
Ask your friend Marco if he’s having the same issue since he pulls a trailer and has a 392 too. Is he changing fluid’s more frequently? Good luck I hope you have a good outcome. Love your vids. Hope to see you in Flag.

He hasn't had any issues yet, but I think we will both be changing our fluids more often gong forward.
Just got our Tickets for the expo for Friday the 19th we hope to meet you. Your videos have helped us a ton.
Everyone has already said it, but I actually have an Atlas in my factory 392. It had a couple things we had to figure out (since I was the first to actually install one), but not as hard as it was to get into the ecodiesel. Love it, have over 1000 miles on it so far. Other option is a hybrid of taking your 392 case and mating it with a Sport transfer case to keep things more factory. Bryce with Dixie 4x4 was the first one I know of doing that.
Thanks, all the best.... S/F
I'd highly suggest Reid knuckles on the wife's JL. I've got 37s on mine. The aluminum knuckles wear out fast and blows through balljoints. My 37s rubbed a little with a 3.5 lift. Ended up ditching the not so great Teraflex springs and put in 4in synergy. The duel rate synergy springs are perfect. Thanks for the coffee break!
Can't wait to see what your boys will do with the Tacoma and Willys.
I love your view with installing the lift kit on your own with your son. You made me learn all those things. Sad for the 392 is not up for the task. Marcos 392 will maybe have issues too.
I had an '05 Tacoma 4X4, short cab, which was my EDD, and field vehicle for work. I have driven it up and down black diamond ski runs in the summer, with a heavy load of gear and crew. Pure stock, it never needed any modifications. It was manual shift, but all my vehicles are.
Hey, that’s still better than your auxiliary battery going out and leaving you completely stranded! 2 wheel drive is better than no wheel drive. I recently traded my Jeep Gladiator Mojave for a Rubicon 392 XR and it’s been a dream! Love driving it everywhere I go, on road, off road, to the grocery store, or to the back country. Love it, love it, love it!
400 turbo awesome transmission sensitive to being dirty need to change filter more frequently. when it blows out of the dipstick it means that it has a clogged up filter. I had a 75 that did the same thing. Once I found out the problem I had taken care of it and never had a problem since. I had the vehicle for 22 years and never had an issue again.
When jeep said the 392 is all wheel drive the writing was in the transfer case.. Dig into the company funds, get an Atlas twin stick with a 5 to 1 and a double reduction. Dana 300 twin stick and a reduction gear. Front wheel digs, pulling the trailer off road with the reduction gear will improve control and lessen the stress on the drive train and suspension 👍 😀.
Stay in! Get your 20!!
I loved the silent vid!! Would love to hear why the power wagon and bronco left. Thanks for all you do in the 4wd family!!!
Those Arizona videos were amazing! I'd love to see Prickly Pear out on an adventure like Kofa. If not? I'll be happy to see Prickly Pear doing something offroad and out of the garage 😉. Im also glad Jordan is keeping and more importantly enjoying his Tacoma. Sounds like its going to be an Epic Spring/Summer? Looking forward to it.
Great "take". Coffee always tastes better with these episodes.

I can completely relate to your son and the modification vs practicality of a daily driver consideration. I have a JKUR that I would love to build out but I had to balance the daily driver aspect. I settled on a 1.5" lift with 34's, with a bumper and winch combo. I haven't found too many placed my friends on 37's can go that I cannot, so I am very happy. I'd love a low profile snorkel though :)
you have quite the fleet Brad! Anything can go wrong with any rig I suppose. Look at Marco losing his clutch a few years ago. Any time there is a new engine/ transmission and parts it usually takes a few years to iron some week points or bugs out. Like you said you push your rigs really hard. Stoked to follow along and see your next adventures.
Excited to hear about the vehicles you no longer have! Love coffee one takes.
Really looking forward to the video of where you address previous rigs. Maybe a 2.0T wrangler in the future???
IMHO ... 2018 JK 3.6 liter, and 2022 2.0 Turbo are the best jeeps built. Takes a few years to get things right. I haven't owned as many as yourself , but I've owned a few in my lifetime. And the 304 V-8 wasn't bad either in my 78 CJ-5 😀. Love the channel sir and thank you for your service
I had the same issue with my 14 f150, only mine was the problem with my air locking hubs. Also I say give the 392 at least one more chance and if it lets you down again then thinking of a replacement.
Thank you for you comments on the 392. If you want reliability swap out the transfer case with a advance adapters twin stick 4 spd unit. Just and option, I’m actually trying to figure out how to get a twin stick in my JLUS.
Jeep Life!! lol I feel like its best to get a JK its that sweet spot not too old but not too new
Nice t-shirt, Brad! Your 392's transfer box (or more appropriately center differential) would probably hold up a great deal longer if you ran a stock tire size. Back when I lived in San Diego and operated my own Land Rover parts business, I burned through rear axle shafts all-too frequently running 9.00 x 16 Michelin XS "Sahara" tires. They had a 37-inch diameter. They weighed quite a bit, too. While the flotation was superb, those tires were extremely rough on the standard rear half shafts. God only knows how many axle shafts, all rear shafts, I broke in my own rigs over the years, but the number was closer to a dozen than a half dozen. (When one shaft broke, I'd replace both sides. Never broke a front half shaft.) Those really large tires were also hell on the ten-inch drum brakes on my short wheelbase, 88", Land Rover. Great video with your always great advice. Sorry to hear about problems with your 392. Semper Fidelis to your corpsman son and to your entire family. Go Navy! Andy McKane
You're a great dad!
love the 392, always been worried about to much power through the drivetrain under stress, and the impact on range the MPG generates. ah well, JLs are certainly better than the JKs I had, but the 3.6 is a great engine
JKs, that's the reason I follow this channel. Especially the 2 door. This video confirms the pedigree and superiority of the JK.
good video Brad
I had the EXACT same situation with transmission fluid coming out of the dipstick in my first truck ('97 sierra) but I was younger and way less confident so I wasn't going to drive it until I got someone to look at it
As much as I love the 392 ... I opted to LS swap my JK instead. It was less money to just build mine up (one ton axles, forties, V8) than to buy the 392 (which I would have had to modify on top of the purchase price). No, my build is not perfect. It loves gas stations. But it makes me smile, and I'll enjoy it for as long as I can. Hopefully one day I'll manage to be at an event or expo and run into you guys. Maybe Great Smokey Mountain Jeep Invasion (hint hint)?
You were lucky to get the one t-case. Since I’ve been back at a Mopar dealer it’s really been a challenge getting some stuff. Engines and driveline especially. Our dealer owner built a 392 before Mopar did it, he upgraded the 241R with a 8spd.
I’ve gone Toyota, 4 Runner. My 2017 JKU, 3” Terraflex/Nitos all high quality parts. Nothing but problems with the Jeep itself. Bought a 2021 Rubicon, nothing but problems. Dealer bought it back. My wife said “buy whatever you want, just not something that keeps breaking. Hence, Toyota 4 Runner TRD Offroad. Love it!

Yellow Jeep stays, keep the lovely wife happy. Keep the silver JKU……forever. Buy a RELIABLE 4wd, 4 Runner, Landcruiser (yes) and build the ultimate Overland expedition vehicle. That’ll be a blast and plenty of content.
Thank you for the update. It is always good to hear how things are going with not only your vehicles, but the boys' vehicle too. My one question is... Are you going to make Mt. Expo West? I really enjoyed meeting you and Regena and chatting for a few minutes, so hope you are coming again. Until next time... Travel safe.

Thank you! No plans for Expo in CO this year, maybe next year.
I’ve been seduced by the 392 and the new 2024 JL’s but my 2014 JKU has been so good, it has never had a major issue and I trust it so maybe I’ll wait a bit.
That’s why the non-rubi tcase is used in JK swaps, no nonsense just gears
FYI the full time rocktrac awd system is available in other vehicles as well. I have it in my glady Rubicon.
I really appreciate your fair and transparent discussions about these rigs. I believe the ‘21+ gladiators actually have this clutched transfer case as an option as well (auto 4wd). I have a 1st tacoma that has been great for years but I recently moved to Utah and I think I will make the jump to Jeep. People like you and Dan Grec have shown Jeeps can work well for decades and thousands of miles. It’s helpful to know about things like this though! I sincerely hope you can get this issue resolved and reliably keep wheeling your favorite rig. However for those of us looking right now, it’s really helpful to hear an honest evaluation of some of these pieces of optional (at least for the gladiator and standard wrangler) pieces of equipment. Thank you!

Welcome to Utah from all the rest of us new here. 😂
I can’t believe Jeep put a clutch based transfer case in a Wrangler. It will happen again. The Ford Raptors transfer case has 4 auto but it also mechanically locks in 4 hi or low because there’s no way around clutches slipping during hard use. It’s a joke.
Excited to see you at EXPO West!
Great talk video it was informative.. I realize the E Jeep & Gladiator in my opinion were not suited to your style that relies on nimble dependable platforms and the Bronco was amazing but your subscribers look for Jeep content from you plus the Bronco required aftermarket upgrades that needless to say have be slow and frustrating and really untested at this point so that was no surprise… keep up the great content and hard work thanks for all you do. TA
I knew about all the departures except the Power Wagon. Dang. I must have missed that video. I'll miss that truck as I have the diesel version of it. Happy Trails!
You're 392 experience mirrors my experience with my 13 JK. Every time I've taken it off road it's had some type of problem, usually throttle related. I don't trust it anymore to get me out and back. I'm putting more money into my XJ now.
I installed my lift kit on my Gladiator, and I’m really glad I did because when I have an issue I know how to fix it

Exactly the reason I want Devyn to do his own.
Power Wagon does everything great. Bet you miss that one the most. And I liked your silent video. It was like being there. It was calming. And Regina rules. Great cook and wants to do more Badge trails? Plus you raised two great kids. Great family unit. Nice to see. Let Jeep put that new transfer case back in. It will be all new again. Just change your driveline fluids with Red line, Amsoil or Lucas products. Dont get rid of the 392. What else in its class would you replace it with?
i had a similar transfer case problem with a grand cherokee limited, control of fulltime 4x4 failed, i pulled the case and did the 242, it had part time and full time, that was nice, for your 392 the rubicon case is built tough, they run the 241 behind the cummins, the rubicon case hase the big 4 to 1 reduction that everyone enjoys, including you, otherwise atlas is built similar. imho ditch the stocker, stranded in bfe is not an option.
Interesting that you’ve had some issues with the 392. I’ve had mine since august of 2021 and haven’t had any issues at all when off-roading or on the road. To be fair you’ve put more miles on yours (I only have 22k) and I don’t tow when off-roading so that could be the difference. Gonna have to keep my eye on it haha Great video as usual Brad!
About to go wheelin with some friends, nothing better than some Brad before we go

Thanks for all the great content over the years, Atlas should have a T-case that would work for you that’s having your cake and get to eat it.
I’d love to see you get another Gladiator!
Memorial Day comming up sir. Month of Remembrance.
Hey Brother! Digging the mug! Looking forward to your next "coffee" content video. You ever make it out East for any Jeep events? Great Smokey Mountain Jeep Invasion is in Aug. Sure your calendar is packed tight, but there are some pretty cool events east of the Mississippi. Just food for thought. 1 Goat to another!
Might be time to consider after market front axle and a Atlas 2 transfer case. No more full time 4 wheel drive and you would have a robust drivetrain. I went through 3 transfer cases on my LT1 powered JK before stepping up to the atlas 2

This is what I was going to comment. It’s dumb the Jeep / Ram engineers always think people need AWD with more power. I remember when we got the 5.2L / 5.9L Grand Cherokee (ZJ) and the transfer case was AWD. I swapped that garbage out for an NP231 right away 😂. Now the TRX and wrangler 392 get AWD transfer case. Meanwhile the raptor is doing just fine with 2WD / 4 auto / 4 hi / 4 lo. Hmmm.
Sooo awesome 👍❤
Totally understand about the 392. However, IMHO, since you are Extreme x3 (at a minimum) on that vehicle, my recommendation would be to change the transfer case fluid every 15k or 20k miles. Try that...and see if the reliability goes up. Good luck...and enjoy the content/channel.
You should definitely do a video on the full install video of the lift kit on the JK!!
Hey Brad I don't miss an episode. Keep up the great work. So the reason I am sending this. You are talking about a vibration on prickly pear. I had a vibration on my TJ (I know different type of vehicle " but several shop's couldn't figure it out. It turns out there was a slight bend in the output shaft on the transfer case. One of the ways I narrowed it down was to pull the the drive shaft then drive it in fore wheel drive. When I pulled the rear shaft the vibration went away. Don't know if this helps, good luck.

Thank you and great info, I'll keep that in mind for sure as I'm troubleshooting!
Can’t wait hope to see you at expo! And you should sell the 392 and do a AMW swap in a gladiator lol
I would love for you to get another xj. I'm currently working on my grandpa's 98 xj, which he willed to me when he passed. It would be great to get info on lfts and tires. Love your videos. Keep them coming!
It means moving out of Commiefornia, Then add an LT v8 to the JK😊. Option 2 New Truck, Overland camper top, trailer for JK.
I need to do the double cardan ujoints on my 79 Ramcharger. I get a slight vibration below half a tank, I guess the rear sits a bit higher as it burns gas. 6” Skyjacker lift, 360 magnum, NV4500 and Dana300 and 4.56/35 combo for 15 yrs now. Only breakage was my custom mount bracket at the trans mount on Metal Masher in 2014. Added a couple bigger gussets and it’s been good. Well, broke the frame in Moab in 2013 behind the passenger shock mount. Didn’t know until I got back to SD, it was cracked 3/4 around the C frame rail. Fixed that in my driveway, tracks straight.
JKs and JKUs are criminally underrated. Brad, this is Matthew and Daniela(IG In The Jeep On The Road). We ran into you while traveling in our White JKU in MOAB (EJS) I think in 2020 while we were hanging out with Ali and Kate the Jeep. We did some off roading with you, OvrlandX, KC Hilights crew, and the Patagonia crew. Such a blast. Anyways, just wanted to stop by and thank you for all the work you put into your channel! It's had a positive impact on mine and my wife's life as you inspired us to do a lot of the incredible travels we've done. I hope to see all of your Jeep drama worked out soon and we hope to cross paths out on the trail again. Next time, we will have our new son, Bellamy (currently 6moths old)!
the 4WD system with 4WD auto is known for the problem. What you could do on the train is shutting the jeep down, and lock the door and restart the jeep. It happen to the 392 in our group many times.
