I just purchased a 3 inch Bassani cat back for my cobra I will be removing the old SLP loudmouth 2 unit. I’m curious if you have the exhaust tip baffles installed? I am torn about the decision on whether or not to remove the baffles or the let them remain.

@@Chad03Cobra you could just keep your stock parts and switch them back in if you ever sell. And unless you switch out something major, you really hurt the resale. And blowers can always be switched back easily

While I do agree the older mod motors do sound better especially the 4v the coyote has potential to sound pretty good too the problem is most of their owners think louder is better and they do catless headers xpipe (which makes the already raspy engine even more raspy) and the loudest mufflers possible like extremes or ataks. The key is do hpipe and more tame mufflers. You can even do some resonators in line to cut the rasp down it helps alot. S550 has diff exhaust routing s197 sounds better and when coyotes are in pre 05 mustangs with their exhaust configuration it sounds even better. But yea the older 4v does sound better typically.

I can’t tell, but is the mid pipe an catted/catless H or X?

My 03 Cobra has borla ataks on it. It's so damn loud I can't even hear the supercharger. I'm really thinking about buying this exhaust for my Cobra. I bought it with the borla ataks already on it.

Yea I've heard ataks in person and it sounds nasty but I agree a tad bit too loud. These bassanis are perfect for being not too loud or too quiet.

@@loscar5oh that's what I'm going with then. The only thing is I have a straight axle but a dude I follow on tik tok has a Cobra exhaust set up on his 03 mach 1 with a straight axle. He told me it's no problem going with that set up

​@buldog190 I'm telling you from experience headers is a huge difference from stock. I have a 700+ rwhp/rwtq 07 gt500 with a gen3r. I had a catless h and borla stingers ran it for 2 years like that then I did arh long tubes catless h still and same catback so only difference was headers. It was very noticable I picked up 15-25 rwhp through the curve (15 peak) and 30-40 tq (40 peak) through the curve and this was at like 1 or so psi less boost too so it's actually pretty significant I highly recommend headers. You may not see that much over an already catless system at a lower power level but the sound is absolutely worth it. It sounds amazing very noticable from before. Tone is different and better and it's louder under throttle and wot. When you're cruising and not on throttle it actually sounds like it has less drone. Highly recommend arh long tubes very high quality.

Everybody thinks it's catted it just has more tame bassani mufflers. Much rather have catless and more tame mufflers vs catted with rowdier mufflers even though volume is similar tone sounds meaner on the former.
