Teriyaki steak recipe - with homemade teriyaki sauce

I've teriyaki steak for tonight's dinner. It is not an ordinary salt and pepper steak. Instead, the steak is marinated and served with a homemade teriyaki sauce to create a fusion of Western and Eastern cuisine. This unique recipe combines the best of both Eastern and Western cuisines.

Ingredients
To marinate the beef
350g steak
7g ginger (to make ginger garlic juice)
2 cloves garlic (to make ginger garlic juice)
1 tbsp sake
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp vegetable oil
To make teriyaki sauce
2 tbsp Japanese soy sauce
2 tbsp sake
2 tbsp sugar
Others
Green onion and toasted sesame seeds to garnish
Method
- Combine Japanese soy sauce, sake, and sugar in equal parts in a small bowl, then boil it in a small pan. Once boiled, reduce the mixture until it forms a thick and sticky sauce.
- Marinate the steak using sake, salt, vegetable oil, garlic, and ginger paste. - To avoid the garlic and ginger from falling off the steak during grilling, mince them and squeeze out the juice to use in the marinade. Mix the teriyaki marinade with the steak to marinate for at least fifteen minutes.
- Heat some vegetable oil on the grill pan until it is hot enough. Then, place the steak and let it grill over medium-high heat for about 2 minutes without moving it. Then, turn the steak 90 degrees to create cross-section grill marks. Finally, flip the steak over and grill the other side. Remove the steak from the hot grill when the internal temperature reaches 125 degrees F(about 50 degrees C).
- Place the steak on a cutting board and rest at room temperature for approximately 10 minutes. Then, slice it into thin strips at an angle.
- Next, transfer the sliced steak to a serving plate and pour the prepared teriyaki sauce.
Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top of the meat and garnish it with green onions.

    Could Sake eventually also be substituted by Chinese cooking wine?

    You can do so. The taste of Chinese Shaoxing wine is slightly different.

    How about egg foo yung and pad Thai peanut sauce Also pepper chicken that is nothing but chicken and pepper Ina sauce. I can’t find one without huge amt of other ingredients, which I don’t like
