This thing rips! I remember my parents talking about buying one from brand new when I was a kid. They decided not to get one because terios’ ceased production but it’s great to see they are still around... AND RIPPING!!

Yes we were very stock standard back then. Poor Subaru was retired to the scrap yard not long after that video. It was so rusty.

Pretty much standard things mate know your limitations, keep it well maintained and give it a really good wash underneath after each outing. Terios are not the best at major hill climbs but do really well with what you see in our videos. Just go out and have fun thanks for your support if your ever over this way let us know.

Join any diahatsu clubs/ groups that do Terios in Australia you can get good information on mods and parts . Diahatsu Terios club Australia DTCA , live to dia Australia. It does help

Wondering if these would go well on sand or even in soft sand as a stock standard set up, without any mods, or would it need a lift kit done beforehand ???

In australia we only got the 1997 to 2006 model terios . After that year i do not know anything about them.

That was it's final journey in life. It has so much rust in it and the motor was shagged. I think we done it proud. The mud was still wet on it when it went to the wreckers .

They can be lifted . Front sub frame lift and shocky extenders. Rear is just bigger springs /shockies . My rear has 2 inch lift that's it atm

I was thinking to choose betwen Jimny and Terios for a car to go fishing on muddy roads now i see Terios is a potent car and half price as Jimny speaking about 2001-2003 generation.

We looked at those cars as well , suzuki are quite expensive but still a good car. Terios offer us more of a challenge off-road. Take in mind terios don't have low range or LSD options. But still a good off-road vehicle , just need to right boot it a bit more

would a set of decent offroad/Allterrain tyres fit on the terios' stock rims? or will i have to lift/add spacers? if so what are the tyre specs i should consider when shopping around for some?

We just use All terrain tyres my original ones I used on my car were 205/70/15 on stock rims They done really well off-road. I would till be using them now but I done sidewall damage on 2 of them. The bigger the tyre the harder it is on your manual/auto less power from motor.

They seem to be going up in value . I would only pay about 2500 max for one in good nick. Maybe a little bit more if it is immaculate. Parts can be bought brand new at most auto places here. Price isn't that bad. I've found the hardest thing to find is a complete motor. The rest isn't to bad in price. Putting them into a mechanic would be like any car . 2nd hand parts are easy to find just join all diahatsu clubs in Aussie.

Go buy little terios with k3_ve engine ,you wld never regret, part are available. This engine is bullet proof if u get clean one.

Great videos looking to do a few small upgrades to my new terios just picked up an immaculate 2000 model with 46000 miles on clock how can i tell if i have the ec or k3 engine seems like a have one from the transition period i got central locking and electric windows in front and stock rims just trying to gather as much info as i can before i go adding bits in the new year looking to run 235/75/15 on stock rims and a 30mm lift kit front and rear would i need to remove bumper like you guys to run this tyre size or would it be ok?also looking into Isuzu d-max rear shocks on rear after lift seen in a forum they go in nicly with 30mm lift would you recommend spring lift over kit?thanks mate keep up the awsome content

How does the 4x4 system work on these terios? I understand it is always 4wd with a center locking diff. Is there low and high or locking axle diffs?

They work on a 70/30 drive in AWD. One you hit 4wd switch it goes 50/50 . It does not have low range at at but geared perfectly for off-road scenarios. They are still an open diff set up no LSD or difflocks , it locks the gearbox only to 4wd. Momentum is the key to get anywhere really

@@teriosoffroadaustralia Cool thanks, from what I understand with good tires no diff lock can be overcome. What are your experiences with towing? Like say for example a small 4m power boat? I assume you have the 1.3L Fuel Injected version. Also comments on lifts, tires, spacers etc.

I have not towed anything yet at all. In our group on FB their are guys that tow little campers and trailers around. I would assume small distance towing would be ok but I would not tow a long distance drive with trailer of any sort. Yes motor is 1.3ve fuel injected motor . Very small but does the job well

that is my mom car back then we living in the city when there are holiday like christmas we go back to village to celebrate with our grandparent my mom bought the car because it affordable and also have off road capability because our village has no road yet and its like going to jungle to get to my grandparent house here in malaysia that car called kembara assemble my perodua

It's a AWD with gearbox lock . So in AWD 70%power to front diff 30% rear - gearbox lock the changes it to 50/50 front and back. We do most tracks in AWD only using gearbox lock when needed .

@@MrMarcoCapa that works out to be $2808 AUD here , that's about average here for a good terios

Soooo, previous account was removed (long story) anyhow i got a 3sz to fit and run in my old terios. No major power gains as can be expected from 1300 to 1500cc, but enough to make all the difference in the low end going over obstacles. If your standard 1300 k3ve motor dies i would certainly recommend replacing it with a 1500 3sz engine, it is worth the little extra money and tuning issues you will encounter. For me i did not get to sort out the tuning issues yet, as the replacement motor's waterpump gave in, leading to a blown head gasket, and it's festive season so the guy who did the engine swap for me is on holiday so we will sort out the next step mid January. Oh the joys of the up and downs of life!!

@@avetodin8120 Верно, особо опасное исполнение желания😬 У меня сначала Ками HC была на АКПП, 140 разгонял-кирпичи чуть не посыпались🤪🤣 Так она и масло чавкало-литр-полтора на 1 ткм. . Нынче Териос HC откапитален на мехе-трасса полностью из 50 нержавейки-впереди надо ещё одно крепление впереди сделать, а то вибрация идёт при 120+.
